THURSDAY, 11TH APRIL.

BE UNFLUSTERED; MAINTAIN YOUR VICTORY.



For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds (2 Corinthians 10:4).

Sometimes in our walk of faith, we encounter circumstances that pose some serious challenges to our faith. It could be in your health or your finances; you’ve done everything you thought you should do, and applied all the principles you know of, yet nothing seemed to have changed. Now, you’re thinking what next to do.

First, it’s important you realise that there’s an adversary who’s all out to oppose the Gospel and God’s children. 1 Peter 5:8-9 says, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” Then, Ephesians 6:10-11 says, “…be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”

Satan, the adversary, is a defeated foe; he has no power. All he functions with are his wiles and stratagems. However, according to the Scriptures, you’ve already overcome him: “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4). What you’re expected to do is act on the Word; act on what we read in Ephesians 6:10-11: put on the whole armour of God.

Those who don’t have the whole armour on are vulnerable. Verse 12 of Ephesians 6 lets us know why you’re to keep the whole armour on. It says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

Satan, the adversary, tries to sway you from the truth of God’s Word; He tries to get you to cave in under pressure, and give up on the Word. But refuse to give up or give in; rather, do what the Word says: resist the devil. James 4:7 says, “…Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony....”

No matter what the enemy throws at you, be unflustered; maintain your victory. Keep affirming who you are in Christ, your trust in His unfailing Word and power, and you’ll always prevail.

CONFESSION

I’m more than a conqueror; I’ve overcome Satan, the world, and its systems. I’m reigning in life through Jesus Christ, and walking in the light of my divine inheritance. All things are mine in His Name. Hallelujah!

this truth today, and always. My spirit is sensitive to Your voice, and I am able to discern Your voice and counsel to me always because I am Your child.

The ways of the Spirit have been manifested unto me, and I am guided from within and through the Word to know and walk in the paths of life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MESSAGE

For anyone to succeed in life, he or she needs the assistance of others. No one succeeds in life by being an island. If the assistance of fellow human beings can make a difference in a person's life, how much more can divine assistance from the unlimited God. Divine assistance is the greatest form of support you can receive to help you fulfill your destiny and reach your goal. Only the Almighty God, who alone is self-sufficient, does not need assistance from anyone. Whenever God asks us to partner with him on any projects, He is only trying to give us an opportunity to be blessed. We see this demonstrated when the Lord asked to use peter's boat in Luke 5:1-10. One might think that without Peter’s boat, the Lord would have been unable to preach on the lake. This cannot be true, because the one who walked on the sea would have done the same thing in order to preach. The Lord asked for Peter’s boat only because he wanted to make him a famous fisher of men! Just as it happened to Peter, Divine assistance is available for everyone for whoever has been struggling to make it in life with no results to show for it.

Elijah is one man who experienced divine assistance in no small measure. It is therefore unsurprising that he was able to do great exploits for God. During a time of great famine, God sends him divine assistance for his sustenance. God said to him in 1 King 17:9:

“Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.”

Here we see that the prophet and the widow had nothing to do with the arrangement: it was divinely ordained. However the best thing about the story is that the two of them cooperated with God to fulfill His divine will. As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I have come to realize one thing: when God wants to bless the minister or his ministry, he or she does not need to collect offerings with long sermons. Moses made a simple pronouncement when the tabernacle was to be built in the wilderness, and the people brought so much that he had to make another pronouncement for them to stop (Exodus 35:4 – Exodus 36:7). Through divine assistance, Moses received more than enough for his assignment, even in the wilderness. Beloved, seek divine help today and you will be settled. When you meditate on today’s memory verse, you will realize the futility of human efforts without divine assistance. May God grant you understanding of this truth in Jesus’ Name.

ACTION POINT:

Ask for divine assistance in every project and assignment you are involved in.

Remember yersterday’s devotional on the collapse of the RENOVATED SECTION of the GREAT WALL OF CHINA! The Holy Ghost is saying: Just as the RENOVATED SECTION of the GREAT WALL OF CHINA fell, so can your Chirstian race! Each time you deviate from THE OLD PATH – the faith that was once delivered to the saints (JUDE 3), your glory and grandeur will scatter into SHAME!

*Refuse to RENOVATE your CHRISTIAN FAITH! You need REVIVAL FIRE and not RENOVATION FIRE!* That is why in a congregation of about 100 worshippers for example, a pastor would ask how many people want to volunteer to go for evangelism and only one or two persons will show up! Today’s FAITH is a faith of LUXURY and CLASS without EVIDENCE! Amos 6:1 says: “Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria,, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came.” WOE is a curse!

There is a CURSE of each time you RENOVATED into EASE! When you spend more time watching TV or when you make your phone your best friend, then a curse of EASE IN ZION is looming! Oh, PLEASE NEVER ALLOW instagram, facebook, etc, to bring a curse upon you! Determine to go back to the OLD pathway of THE CROSS! The way of the CROSS is not a life of EASE! The CROSS means the PAIN of being alone with God, the pain of purity and holines, etc.

Your cry should be: “Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit in me, O LORD” (Psalm 51:10). Do you know that we no longer hear, “THUS SAYS LORD” anymore in our churches? May God revive us again! Psalm 85:5-6 is a tonic: “Wilt Thou be angry with us forever?... Wilt Thou not revive us again: that Thy people may rejoice in thee?” *Whosoever will reign with Christ in heaven, must have Christ reigning in him on earth first!* I love what Wesley once said: *“REVIVAL IS A CHILD OF MANY PRAYERS!”* Wow! And I will never forget what C.H. Spurgeon said: “A Time Will Come That Instead Of The Shepherds Feeding The Sheep, The Clowns Will Be Entertaining

The Goats.” Can you beat that? Is it not happening today in our churches? Always remember that: BEFORE ELIJAH CALLED DOWN THE FIRE, HE HAD REPAIR THE BROKEN ALTAR! Pray now!

TOPIC: THE ATTITUDE OF EFFECTIVE PRAISE

SCRIPTURE: Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,"and into his courts with praise": be thankful unto him,"and bless his name. Psalm 100":4
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A noise that is joyful is better than praise that is joyless.

Yesterday,"we saw that we owe God an unfinishable debt of praise in time and in eternity and we have so many reasons to praise God daily – divine health, the knowledge of God, supernatural supplies, the frustration of the agenda of the wicked, etc.
Today, I would like to show you the things that make your praise effective":

1. The attitude of gratitude,"excitement and joy (Psalm 100":2).
Gladness must precede singing for it to be acceptable. Without joy,"your praise is lifeless. Praise equals noise without joy; and a noise that is joyful is better than praise that is joyless. Do not waste your energy praising God in depression. Cast out that devil of depression. Expel depression from your life and praise God with excitement.
2. Praise God with revelation. When your praise is with revelation, you move from the realm of appreciation to the realm of celebration. When there is a Scriptural verse that gives you a certain assurance, it shifts your praise to another level.
3. Praise God in the beauty of holiness (2 Chronicles 20":21). Sin is a killer of praise; it kills the power of praise. You must relinquish sin in your life if your praise must be accepted by God. When you do this,"the earth will release to you what belongs to you.

REMEMBER THIS": A noise that is joyful is better than praise that is joyless.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make a list of all the things that God has done for you from the beginning of the year till now and begin to thank Him for them.
2. Praise God today with a heart of gratitude.
PRAYER: O LORD,"I ask that You clothe me with the garment of praise. I will praise You forever, in Jesus’ Name.

*TOPIC: PREPARE THE WAY OF THE LORD*
*Read: Luke 3:1-14*

*MEMORISE: _As it is written in the book of the words of Isaiah the prophet, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: 'Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight’’’_ (Luke 3:4).*

*EXPOSITION*

When God sent His Son into the world, He ensured that people were prepared for the arrival. God had promised to send a messenger ahead of Christ to prepare the way. God’s arrival would involve a dramatic reversal of the current status quo: *Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low*(Isa 40:4). If God’s people were to be ready for His appearance, they needed to be prepared.

What did that preparation look like? In fulfilment of God’s prophetic Word, the ministry of John the Baptist shows us that preparation meant repentance. John came *preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins*(Lk. 3:3). Of course, true repentance is more than lip service about one’s sin. As John declared, “Bear fruits worthy of repentance” (v. 8).

A life of true repentance means a life reoriented in a new direction, God’s direction in Christ Jesus. When the crowds asked what they were supposed to do, John gave examples. Rather than hoard for yourself, share with others in need. Rather than engage in sinful business practices, conduct yourself with honesty. These life practices are not means of earning righteousness or meriting God’s favour, rather, they reflect repentance in preparation for receiving God.

If we want to embrace God’s arrival with joy, our lives must be oriented towards Him. Unfortunately, many in Jesus’ days would be unprepared for the coming of Christ. “NOW” is the perfect time to prepare for the coming of Christ. After a time of prayer, choose one spiritual habit to begin practicing in your life. whether giving to those in need, serving more in the church, or just spending more time in prayer and Scripture. Offer this new practice as a fruit of repentance in preparation for the coming King.
