Morning Devotional For Tuesday 9th October
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

TUESDAY 09 OCTOBER 2018

"YOU WERE BORN WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS"

For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17).

Righteousness is the nature of God, and a gift from God, but in the actual, vital sense, it’s a gift to the ungodly. The Christian didn’t “receive” the gift of righteousness; the Christian was born righteous. Paul’s submission about righteousness in the Book of Romans, and as you’d find in chapter 5 verse 17, is a generic argument on the legality of righteousness as it was accounted to Abraham, and therefore to all of us who believe in Jesus Christ. We may believe it’s given to us as a gift, but that’s not all that God gave us as a gift.

For instance, Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Eternal life is given to sinners, not Christians; that’s what a sinner receives to become a Christian. A Christian is one who has eternal life; not one who’s “receiving” the gift of eternal life. The Bible says anyone who believes, has eternal life. Once a man believes, right away, eternal life starts up in his spirit. So, eternal life is no longer being “gifted” to him; he was born into it. He came alive with it, when he received Christ.

It’s like when you were born of your mother; you didn’t have to first receive the gift of life to become human; you came into existence with life—the human life! Otherwise, you wouldn’t have been said to be alive. Imagine someone saying, “Now that the baby is born, she needs to receive the gift of the human life”; that’ll be absurd.

Likewise, legally, the whole world has been given the gift of righteousness; it’s this gift, when received, that enables one stand in the presence of God without guilt, fear, inferiority, or condemnation. When the gift of eternal life is received, one is born of God with this life at work in him.

Abraham was given righteousness as a gift; he was credited with righteousness for his believing. But the man who’s born again was born righteous; he can’t, therefore, be “receiving” as a gift, something that he’s born with; he’s born with the life and nature of God. Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Dear Father, thank you for inspiring in me the consciousness of my righteousness, which has placed me in a vantage position, far above the troubles, decadence and negativities in the earth realm. I manifest your righteousness in all I do, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
FURTHER STUDY:

Romans 5:17-19
17- For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.
18- Therefore, as through one man’s offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man’s righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
19- For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many will be made righteous.

2 Corinthians 5:21
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him

9TH OCTOBER.

I affirm that I am an heir of a very rich God! I am the object of His supernatural grace and unfailing love. His Word is alive in me, causing me to walk in grace, righteousness, and dominion! God’s Word is in my heart and in my mouth, I utter words of faith continually, knowing that my words are filled with divine energy to produce results for His glory.

The Word of God has taken root in my spirit, and I am bringing forth fruits of righteousness. Through the Word, I’ve been granted the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God, the eyes of my understanding are enlightened to know God’s will and walk in His ways! I am full of life, out of my belly flow the springs of life.

I know I cannot be disadvantaged because the God that does the unimaginable, the unthinkable, and the unexpected have shone in my heart; and as He is, so am I in this world. He has given me the ability to bring forth good from within me and change hopeless situations. I have Joy on the inside, for the job of the Lord is my strength. With joy today, I draw out prosperity, peace, success, health and other blessings from deep within me to bless my world. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

SEEDS OF DESTINY

DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR. PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE

TUESDAY 9TH OCTOBER, 2018

TOPIC: LIVING TO PLEASE GOD

SCRIPTURE: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Matthew 3:17

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your life is either giving God excitement or causing Him embarrassment.

God is the Owner and the Giver of life (John 14:6, Psalms 36:9). There is a purpose God gives life to everyone. A major purpose God gives us life is for us to please and glorify Him with our lives.

Now, what does it mean to live and please God? Living to please God means living as a source of joy, happiness or satisfaction to God with your lifestyle.
Our anchor Scripture shows clearly how God is pleased with His Son, Jesus Christ. This was also the case of Job in Job 1:8. Job pleased God with His lifestyle to the point where God began to boast about him to the devil. The question is, what took Job to that realm? It was a lifestyle of pleasing to God.

Today, there are children of God who bring agony to God by their lifestyles; the way they live disrespects God.

Beloved, how does God feel about your conduct in your place of work, where you live and what you do? Are you giving God pleasure with your life or you are causing Him pain with your life? Is God proud of you or ashamed of you?

The truth is, your life is either giving God excitement or causing Him embarrassment; your life is either a source of pleasure to God or a source of pain to Him.

My counsel is, live to give God pleasure with your life continually all the days of your life.

REMEMBER THIS: Your life is either giving God excitement or causing Him embarrassment.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Determine to give God pleasure with your life
2. Avoid anything that would constitute a source of pain and embarrassment to God

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your Word to me today. I refuse to cause You pain with my lifestyle. I connect the grace to bring You pleasure and excitement like Job did, in Jesus’ Name.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL
DATE: TUESDAY 9TH OCTOBER 2018
THEME: BEWARE OF THE DEFEATIST PRAYERS.

MEMORY VERSE:
“Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Curse God, and die. “ Job 2:9

BIBLE READING: Judges 16:24-31.
24. And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us.
25. And it came to pass, when their hearts were merry, that they said, Call for Samson, that he may make us sport. And they called for Samson out of the prison house; and he made them sport: and they set him between the pillars.
26. And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.
27. Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there; and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women, that beheld while Samson made sport.
28. And Samson called unto The LORD, and said, O Lord God, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes.
29. And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left.
30. And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.
31. Then his brethren and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the buryingplace of Manoah his father. And he judged Israel twenty years.

MESSAGE
A. Prayer was established by God as a means of dialogue between Himself and His Covenant People.
1. Our Lord Jesus Christ engaged in prayer in His Lifetime and also taught His Disciples how to pray (Matthew 14:23, Matthew 6:9-13).
2. As His Disciple today, we pray with the assurance of His Promise in Matthew 21:22, which says: “ And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”
3. The fact that Our Lord engaged in all night prayer shows how significant prayer is (Luke 6:12).
4. In Matthew 17:21, He revealed to us that some challenges in life may not be overcome without fervent prayers and fasting, God’s Attitude and Response to prayer differs based on the identity of the person praying.
5. 1 Peter 3:12 says: “For The Eyes of The Lord are over The Righteous, and His Ears are open unto their prayers: but The Face of The Lord is against them that do evil.”
6. Based on this verse of The Scripture, only those who are in standing with God should expect answers to their prayers.
7. If you have not received The gift of Righteousness which comes from being Born Again, I implore you to give your life to Jesus today. 8. I pray that every request you make to God as from today shall be answered by fire in Jesus Name. Amen ?!

B. Despite The Obvious Power of Prayer and the various examples of answered prayer in the Bible.
1. Certain circumstances threaten our very existence and shake the foundation of our faith, causing us to render defeatist prayer to God.
2. A defeatist prayer is the kind of prayer made with an expectation of imminent failure, assumption of hopelessness and a resignation to fate.
3. Defeatist prayers carry a belief that God cannot intervene in the situation at hand.
4. May you never doubt The Ability of God to save you in the time of trouble in Jesus’ Name. Amen ?!
5. In Job 2:9, Job’s case got so bad that he was given a defeatist option of cursing God and choosing death.
6. Similarly, after great exploits for God, followed by victories and celebrations, Elijah’s life was threatened by a wicked queen called Jezebel.
7. He became so distressed that he prayed this defeatist prayer in 1 Kings 19:4: “……..It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.”
8. In like manner, after The Lord departed from Samson, he lost everything, including his eyesight, and he began to grind corn for his enemies in captivity.
9. This situation forced him to pray a defeatist prayer in Judges 16:30, saying “let me die with my enemies.”
10. Irrespective of what you are passing through, I encourage you to never render a defeatist prayer to God.
11. Although it might not be easy, remember that your faith is toughened when it passes through fire.
12. Therefore, have faith in God and hold on to Him. Please don’t ever give up on God!

ACTION POINT:
Father, Please don’t let my faith fail in the day of adversity in Jesus’ Name. ?!

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 45-47, Luke 3:23-4:13

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE.

HYMN: MY FAITH LOOKS UP TO THEE.
1. My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
Oh, let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!

2. May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
Oh, may my love to Thee
Pure, warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!

3. While life’s dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow’s tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.

4. When ends life’s transient dream,
When death’s cold, sullen stream
Shall o’er me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
Oh, bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!
EMMANUEL=GOD WITH US!
