RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

Wednesday, September 19th .

NOTHING CAN PUT YOU DOWN .


For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4).

There’s a higher life in Christ—a spiritual life, which we’ve received as Christians. We’re not ordinary. We‘re not in this world as victims; we were born victors. 2 Corinthians 2:14 says, “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.”*_ This is your life; you’re victorious every day, everywhere, and in all things.

Of course, there’re those who believe life isn’t a “bed of roses”; it’s full of “ups and downs,” but the reason they think this way is their ignorance. You’re supposed to live in victory over every situation that you face, because Christ is in you. Jesus’ vicarious sacrifice on your behalf made you one with God, and brought you into this life of victory.

The Bible says, God …raised him*_ (Jesus) _*from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come”*_ (Ephesians 1:20-21). That’s not all; God has also _*“…raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:5-6).

God raised you up together with Christ; you’re seated with Him in glory, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come. You’re seated right in the place of His authority and power, and this is the reason you can’t be defeated. It’s the reason nothing can put you down, for greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world (1 John 4:4).

It doesn’t matter what your experience in life has been; it doesn’t matter how long you may have suffered or been in darkness; light has come to you. Truth has been unveiled: Christ is your life, your strength and your victory. You’re more than a conqueror. You were born to have dominion, and live triumphantly every day. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION

I was born a victor, and I live triumphantly over Satan, the circumstances of life, the economic conditions of this world, and other problems that ruin people’s lives. I live a superior life, far above the world’s corrupting influences, by the power of the greater One who lives in me. I’m a victor in Christ Jesus, now and always. Blessed be God!

I affirm that the grace of God is at work in me in an increasing measure. I’ve received the gift of righteousness, and I am inspired to be righteousness-conscious.

I am dead to sin, but alive to God, having put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of Christ. By virtue of the vicarious sacrifice of Christ, I’ve been brought into the life of dominion, abundance, and excellence. I walk in the reality of my new life in Christ, fully aware that I’ve been justified by faith, and have peace with God, through the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am bold and courageous; the zeal for the Kingdom has become in me, a fire that can not be quenched; it causes me to be fervent in intercession and soul-winning. I take advantage of God’s grace and might in me, in accomplishing all that Father has ordained for me to do today. I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. He lives in me in His fullness, therefore I am invincible! I give expression to His wisdom, ability, and excellence in me today. I walk in divine health, victory, peace, and prosperity. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR?


A DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY DR. PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE


SCRIPTURE: For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:6-8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The most important thing to do on Earth is to do His Will.

We live in a generation with inverted priority; a generation where many people do not understand the essence of life. Many people think that life is all about making ends meet; they think that once one has a job and is able to meet the basic necessities of life like having food to eat, clothes to wear and the ability to pay one’s children’s school fees, one is living. The question is, is that all that life is all about? Not at all!

Now, if working, receiving salary and meeting basic needs of life is not the essence of life, what then is the essence of life?
It is living to do God’s Will!

God has a plan for us in each area of our lives – how to serve Him, who to get married to, the kind of work to do etc. Let me give you a practical example: in my own life, I planned, studied and trained to be a medical doctor, but later in life, I discovered His Will for me which is to be a preacher; that is why I am preaching the gospel today. So, the most important thing to do on Earth is to do His Will.

Beloved, I would like you to assess your life and ask yourself a question, ‘Am I doing the Will of God for my life? Am I in the centre of His will?
My counsel is, locate God’s Will in every area of your life and decide to live according to His Will for your life.

Remember this: The most important thing to do on Earth is to do His Will.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to discover God’s Will and purpose for your life.
2. Do all it takes to pursue and fulfill God’s Will and purpose for your life.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask that You reveal to me Your Will and Purpose for my life. I receive Your Grace to fulfil Your Will, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

THEME: THE WINDOW OF THE HEART

Memorise:
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. Matthew 6:22

Bible Reading: Matthew 5:27-29
27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Message:
It is unfortunate that in the Church today, we underestimate the evil effects of nudity and exhibitionism. It had gotten so bad that in some quarters semi-nudity has become a norm. We pretend as if we don’t know or understand the motive behind suggestive dressing and what it triggers in the minds of opposite sex.

It seems a good number of people have lost understanding of the difference between private and public body parts. Today’s memory verse says that the light of the body is the eye and that our eye should be single. In other words, our eyes should not carry the abominable weights of sinful sights into our hearts.

The question is, how can the eye be single when it is exposed to what should be covered by men and women. Some women expose their contours and pretend as if we are blind to it or that our body has suddenly become dead wood. Some men, including some pastors, put on trousers that are fitted to the point of being too tight.

The reason why many men are caught in the web of extramarital wanderings is that their ‘eye’ is double or triple. In other words, they carry many satanic images of the opposite sex in their sub-consciousness.

What is the consequence of our eye not being single? The Lord said the whole body would be full of darkness. No wonder such people grope in darkness towards eventual destruction and experience a bitter ending after the “honey” they were after turns sour.

Phonographic websites have dealt deadly blows to the gentle souls of several people. As saints unto the Lord, we must not engage in viewing such sites, because it is what you see that you desire. If something has not come into your sub-consciousness, particularly through your eye, you may not crave it. It was after Eve saw the forbidden fruit that she fell in love with it. You will be wise to adopt Job’s principle in Job 31:1, wherein he said

“I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?”

Our sisters should make a covenant with their bodies that they would not allow it to become a stumbling block to others, knowing that causing the fall of a saint is grievous in the sight of the Lord. They should also remember that Beersheba’s nudity was what ignited David’s woes; he saw it and his eyes ceased from being single 2 Samuel 11:2.

Our brothers should also learn when not to look or stare. Most importantly, they should mortify the deeds of the body because there will always be daughters of Jezebel around to entice them. Romans 8:13 says

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”

Action Point:
Make a covenant with your eyes today that you will not look upon iniquitous sights any more.
