*RESTORATION TODAY*
WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2020
*TOPIC: STRIKE FIRST*
“…and David put his hand in his bag and took thence a stone, and slang it and smote the Philistine in his forehead that the stone sunk into his forehead, and he fell upon his face to the earth.” 1 Samuel 17:49
*MESSAGE*
Israel fought her Arab neighbors in what has now been popularly known as the six-day-war in 1967. This war changed the map of the Middle East establishing Israel as the region’s dominant military force.
Few days before this war, the United Nations Peacekeepers were expelled from Egypt. The Red Sea was closed to Israeli ships, the Arab armies gathered at the border of Israel. At this time the whole world thought the 19-year-old nation would come to an end, just like it was thought that Donald Trump could never win Hillary Clinton. However, something happened on the eve of the Israeli war, Israeli army general shouted and demanded for the Prime Minister.
He said “There’s no need waiting for the d’day; let us strike first to be sure of victory.” That night, Israeli army attacked and destroyed the Egyptian Air force and destroyed Egypt’s air power on the ground before the war began. This caused Israeli army to destroy the combined forces of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and the Allied Forces.
This is a spiritual principle—the same principle that David applied as he fought Goliath: he struck first. In other words, don’t way for the devil to attack you before you respond; in spiritual warfare, always be a step ahead of the devil and his cohorts by being ready to launch an attack on them even before they attack you.
*ACTION POINT*
?️ Being proactive in spiritual warfare assures you of victory. Be at alert always.
*SCRIPTURES*
Exodus 14:26-28; Exodus 15:21; 2 Samuel 18:5
*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Father, please help me to be vigilant and always ready to strike the enemy first in spiritual warfare.
2. Lord, give me the grace to obey the leading of Your Spirit in me in Jesus’ name.
3. Help me to be proactive in all my endeavours in life in Jesus’ name.
