THEME: THE BLESSING OF THE BIRTHRIGHT.
MEMORISE
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
1 John 3: 1
READ: ROMANS 8:16-26
16. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
17. And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
18. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20. For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
21. Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
23. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
24. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
26. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
MESSAGE
Galatians 4:7 says ''Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ'' and Romans 8:15 says ''For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.''
These Bible verses confirm that Christians are children of God who have received the birthright of sonship by grace, not merit. I pray that the grace of Abba Father will always work in your favour in the mighty name of Jesus.
The first privilege we enjoy as children of God is that we move from the position of servants to that of children and heirs. Thus we must have a passion for evangelism especially for those who believe they are self-made slaves of sin after the fall of Adam.
God did not create his image-carrier man, for the purpose of making a slave out of him. Galatians 4:6-7 says:
“And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”
In the story of the Syrophoenician woman in our text of today, Jesus Christ likened her to a dog and she did not refute it. This is because the verdict was from the Way, the Truth and the Life; He speaks with valid spiritual authority.
Liberal theologians who want to be 21st Century compliant would want to rewrite the Bible to make it politically correct. Some things, while politically correct, can be spiritually bankrupt.
Beloved, to become a part of the family of God, you need to be born again by your faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:26 ). Let Him cleanse you in His blood.
The food of salvation, deliverance, healing and prosperity meant for children of God will now become yours in the name of Jesus. If you are born again already, spread the good news!
PRAYER POINT
Father, let the blessings of the Christian birthright be permanent in my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.
