RESTORATION TODAY
TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2020.
TOPIC: *GOD IS YOUR FATHER (2)*
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." Hebrews 13:5-6.
*MESSAGE*
Without the sense of God's Fatherhood over our lives and an intentional awareness of His abiding presence with us, we will live lives as believers in ways that are no different from the experiences of unbelievers. Jesus foresaw this time, and so He promised His disciples that he would not leave them in that desolate, comfortless state . (John 14:18).
In our text for today, the writer of Hebrews showed us that an awareness of God's presence will lead to a certain kind of confidence with which we can live our lives. When you realise that you are not an orphan (spiritually speaking) and that you always have the limitless and powerful God as your Father, it gives you the boldness to live life as God intended it for you.
Unfortunately, there are many believers in the world today who still haven't taken this promise to heart. Though they have received Christ as their Lord and their saviour, they still feel like orphans deep down. They still act as if they don't have a Father in heaven who has promised to be a real Father to them in every way. (2 Corinthians 6:18). Such Christians live in life in competition with others and their behaviour hardly portrays them to be beloved sons and daughters of God who are learning to reign as kings and priests on the earth (Revelation 5:10). From tomorrow, we will remind ourselves of some implications of God's fatherhood over us.
*ACTION POINTS*
?️ As you did yesterday, in your prayers today, talk to God again as though you are talking to your Father. Start building that habit.
*SCRIPTURES*
John 14:18; 2 Corinthians 6:18; Revelation 5:10.
*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Father, thank You for being my Father;
2. O Lord, grant me the grace to tell others about Your Fatherly love.
3. Father, grant me the grace to succeed in spite of all odds.
*BIBLE OF THE YEAR*
