RESTORATION TODAY
THURSDAY, JANUARY 23, 2020.
TOPIC: *KEEP YOUR EYES ON JESUS*
"Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, espising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God." Hebrews 12:2.
*MESSAGE*
When we face a crisis, how we see things often becomes affected. It happened to two of Jesus' disciples on the road to Emmaus. Discouraged about His death, they were talking about all the things that had happened. In the middle of the conversation, Jesus came up and walked along with them. But they were not able to recognise who he was (Luke 24:14-16)
When we take our eyes off Jesus, we can start to feel helpless about our situation. And even when we're trying to keep focused on Jesus, we can't always see Him clearly. Our situation and emotions cloud our vision and we get a distorted picture. But God can bring breakthrough moments in our lives. He can help us to see things clearly, to have perspective and to not become overwhelmed.
hen the disciples on the emmaus Road were focused on the problems, they didn't recognise Jesus. But everything changed the minute the disciples did recognise Him. Quickly, they were on their way back to Jerusalem to tell other disciples how Jesus had appeared to them as they were walking along and how they had recognised him as he was breaking the bread (Luke 24:33-35). They went from fear to courage, pain to Joy, and despair to hope.
Paul prayed for the Ephesians that the eyes of their heart may be enlightened (Ephesians 1:18). When we stop focusing on the problem and fix our eyes on Jesus, we see things clearly and we become filled with the courage, joy and hope we need to get through situation. How we see things is transformed when we have that experience of recognising Jesus in the middle of what we're going through.
*ACTION POINT*
? Ask God to show you where He is in the situation you're facing at the moment.

Ephesians 1:18; Luke 24:14-35; Isaiah 8:17.
