*OUR DAILY MANNA DEVOTIONAL*
_A DEVOTIONAL BOOKLET FOR CHAMPIONS_
*DATE: FRIDAY 5TH APRIL, 2019*
*TOPIC: MEN WILL ALWAYS BE MEN!*
*BASIC SCRIPTURES: JUDGES 8:33-35; JOHN 2:23-25*
Today’s first scripture, Verse 35, says that the people failed to show kindness to the family of Jerubbaal (Gideon) after his death. It says, “Neither shewed they kindness to the house of Jerubbaal, namely Gideon, according to all the goodness which he had shewed unto Israel.” And that is the general natural of men: they will always forget the good done to them and men will always disappoint men! God was not joking when He said, *“Trust ye not in a friend: put ye not confidence in a guide: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom”* (Micah 7:5). Is that not serious? He says, don’t even tell your secret to he/she that lieth in thy bosom. Why? *Because men will always be men and God will always be God!*
Did Gideon not risk his life for the people? Why did they pay him back by abandoning his house (family)? Why do you think Jesus refused to accept the promotion of men (Today’s 2nd scripture)? Because He knew it was as temporary as an iced cake on a summer plate! In this STORY TO GLORY YEAR 2019, God is warning a user of today’s devotional to stop trusting men. Men can turn your GLORY to STORY! Stop crying that men are disappointing you or that the last good you did was not appreciated! *Have you forgotten that men’s good deeds are written on water in the hearts of other men? Can you remember anything written on water?* Did nine out of the ten lepers not forget to appreciate Jesus? Was Joseph not forgotten by the BUTLER (Genesis 40:23)?
*They must forget you because they are men!* Stop complaining over the unreplied mails/phone calls! Dear pastor, elder/minister of God, some of those you pray for, will never remember you! It is the nature of men! Don’t expect a “thank you” for your efforts. *Settle your account with God and never forget His is your rewarder!* Give people (INCLUDING YOUR OWN CHILDREN) an allowance to fail you because they can! Trust God alone and wait for Him as your ultimate Rewarder/Judge! Close with Micah 7:7:
“Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation…” Make that your declaration in all your dealings with men this year and beyond! Peace!

*Song 2: Count Your Blessings*
When upon life’s billows you are tempest tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
*Refrain*
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
Count your blessings, see what God hath done!
Count your blessings, name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.
Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, every doubt will fly,
And you will keep singing as the days go by.
When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you His wealth untold;
Count your many blessings. Wealth can never buy
Your reward in heaven, nor your home on high.
So, amid the conflict whether great or small,
Do not be disheartened, God is over all;
Count your many blessings, angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.
