*TOPIC: WAIT FOR GOD’S PEACE*
*Read: Colossians 3:15-17*
*MEMORISE: _And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful_ (Colossians 3:15).*
*EXPOSITION*
Many believers look for a sense of peace, as a sign to help them determine. God’s will in their lives. However, a peaceful feeling may not be enough evidence to verify that a person’s decisions line up with the Lord’s plans. It is wise to ask ourselves, _Whose peace are we experiencing?_ Sometimes, our sense tranquility can be attributed to our own satisfaction about a choice we have made.
For you to have the peace of God, you must have peace WITH HIM. This talks about being born again and having the right relationship with Him (Rm. 5:1,2).
Today’s passage talks about letting *_the peace of Christ rule in your hearts_ (Col. 3:15).* This kind of peace originates from Jesus Christ and is the umpire that determines whether your decisions fit with God’s will. The word _peace_ indicates harmony and oneness. So to have God’s peace about a matter, means your decision must be aligned with His will. The only way to determines this is by comparing your thoughts and choices with His Word. Are you thinking the same way He does? Did you make your decision using scriptural principles or your own human understanding?
One of the reasons we often make choices without the guidance of Scripture is because, we want a quicker method in order to get answers. The Lord does not just pour His thoughts into our brains, without our cooperations. He moulds us gradually, day by day, as we read His Word and let its truths sink into our minds.
Building steadily over time is the only way to internalize a foundation of God’s truth. With His instructions as your basis, you can make decisions with confidence, when you are following His will. Then you will have a sense of oneness with the Lord, and His peace will guard your way.
*PRAYER POINTS*
*1.* Lord, give me the grace to premise my life’s foundation on Your truth.
*2.* Lord, endow me with the power to make the scripture my guidance in all my choices.
*3.* Father, let Your Word mould us day after day, in Jesus’ name.
