*TOPIC:*GOD HAS THE BEST INTENTION*
*READ: Isaiah 55:8-12*
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the LORD (Isaiah 55:8).
*EXPOSITION*
Whenever a great disaster strikes, some questions spring in the mind: Why does the lord let such things happen? Could not He have stopped this? Does He not care? The magnitude of death and destruction caused by earthquakes, tornadoes, insurgency, gruesome murders even during Sunday worships, kidnapping, or floods disrupts are everyday thoughts and cause us to seek explanations for suffering, all over the world.
Often the answers people come up with are based on their relationships with God. Those who know nothing of Him have no frame of reference for understanding how He works. Believers, on the other hand, have the Bible to guide them as they wrestle through these issues. But even then, the accuracy of one’s perspective is determined by his or her knowledge of God’s Word. Those with limited understanding may as well reach inaccurate conclusions.
We must guard against attempts at forcing the Lord to act the way we think He should. If He does something that would not fit into the “box” we have devised for Him, we easily become upset, angry, or confused.
God will never stay within the parameters we set for Him. Since we are mortal and sinful, we have a very narrow perspective and understanding of life. But our eternal, sinless, sovereign, and omniscient Creator sees and knows what cannot perceive.
As we ponder upon this today, let us be sure that our viewpoints of God’s role in natural disasters come from the Bible, not from our own limited perspective. Scripture tells us of the Lord’s love, faithfulness, and wisdom. Whenever we cannot understand His ways, faith in His goodness must be our foundation.
*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Lord, give me the grace to follow you even when it seems dark.
2. Lord, endow me with the power to understand Your leadings and workings.
3. Lord, help every child of God that is undergoing worrisome situations, today.
*EXTRA READING FOR TODAY: Daniel 3 - 4*
Good morning and do have a pleasant weekend.
Remember, Jesus cometh soon. Be prepared!
