EPL: Arteta fires strong warning to Arsenal players during unveiling

New Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, has warned that any player who doesn’t buy into his philosophy, will be considered “not good enough” to represent the club.

Arteta stated this during his official unveiling on Friday.

Ahead of his appointment, senior members of the Arsenal squad voiced concern that the Spaniard wasn’t experienced enough.
Captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hass been linked with a January move away from the Emirates, along some of his team-mates.

Arteta didn’t name names in his press conference, but did send a message to the players.

“I want to do things my way by convincing them that this is the right way. I want people who are comfortable with what I’m asking them to do,” said Arteta.

“I want people who deliver passion and energy to the football club. Anybody who doesn’t buy into it is not good enough for this club and culture.

“I need to understand how they’re feeling, what they’re lacking. If I reach that point I can help them, they will trust me and follow me.”

Tottenham vs Chelsea: What Mourinho said about Premier League clash

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho has stated categorically that he is ‘100% Tottenham’ ahead of his side’s Premier League clash with Frank Lampard’s Chelsea this weekend.

Mourinho, a former Chelsea manager, said he is going to give everything to Spurs and forget about his old club, Chelsea on Sunday.

Mourinho’s men head to the game following a 2-1 victory over Wolves in their last Premier League encounter.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Mourinho was quoted by Football London as saying: “For me, it’s a game. I am 100% Tottenham, 100% my club always, all my career.

“No space at all for my previous clubs. I gave everything to all of them, my previously. Everything. I kept nothing from them. I gave everything but they are my previous clubs. I give everything to my club – my club is Tottenham.

“For me, it’s so easy for me to play that game. Difficult because of Chelsea’s quality but not difficult from an emotional point of view. Not difficult at all. Easy.”

The kick-off time for the match is 5:30pm.

EPL: Unai Emery breaks silence on Arsenal replacing him with Arteta

Former Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has spoken about the club’s decision to replace him with Mikel Arteta.

The 48-year-old was sacked last month, after an 18-month spell in charge ended with a seven-game winless run.
Manchester City assistant boss Arteta was announced as the new Gunners boss on Friday.

Emery, speaking to BBC Sport, insists the Gunners are making “a good decision” by appointing his compatriot.
“He really is prepared to make that next jump.

“He has been at Arsenal before, he’s been in the Premier League and he has been working with Pep Guardiola. I do believe this is a good decision and I would also like it to be a good decision,” Emery said.

Iwobi Suffers Injury In His First Game Against Former Club, Arsenal

Alex Iwobi's first appearance against Arsenal since leaving the club lasted only 10 minutes before he had to be taken off due to an apparent hamstring injury.

Recall that the Super Eagles star joined Everton under Marco Silva this campaign for a club record fee.

After ten minutes into the game against his former club, Iwobi was pictured holding his hamstring and was later forced off. He was replaced by Tosun, who goes up front alongside Calvert-Lewin, meaning Richarlison goes out wide.

But later in the game, Iwobi's early replacement Cenk Tosun was substituted by Ferguson for Moise Kean, who suffered the same fate last weekend when he was hauled off at Old Trafford after playing just 19 minutes.

The game ended in a goalless draw in the early kick off.

Anthony Joshua Flirted With Rita Mahrez, Riyad Mahrez’s Wife Secretly In Club

READY TO RUMBLE Anthony Joshua enjoyed secret late-night flirtation with Man City ace Riyad Mahrez’s wife Rita

Model and singer Rita, 26, was seen with her hand on the world heavyweight champ’s knee at London club Tape on Friday.

And we can reveal she and Algeria skipper Riyad, 28 — dad to her two kids — have agreed a trial split, and are living 200 miles apart.

A clubgoer said: “Rita bumped into AJ on her way out and he invited her to join him at his table in VIP.

“Rita, who was with a female pal, clearly thought AJ was incredibly hot. They then spent much of the evening laughing and flirting.

“He didn’t have a clue who she was. He simply thought she was a pretty girl and enjoyed their chat.

"But when the club owner pointed out she was Riyad’s wife, AJ got a bit awkward, and totally backed away.

“He explained he didn’t want to step on any toes or cause a scene, and that he’d be stupid to be seen doing anything in public. They left with friends at 3am, but got into separate cars.”

Edinson Cavani Signs A 3-Year Contract With Atletico Madrid

EDINSON CAVANI has reportedly agreed a three-year contract to join Atletico Madrid.
The Uruguayan striker will be become a free agent when his deal at Paris Saint-Germain expires next summer.

Cavani has reached an agreement with Diego Simeone’s La Liga giants.

It still remains unclear whether the forward will move next month or whether the switch will occur in the summer.

Cavani is currently injured and looks unlikely to play again until 2020.

PSG‘s all-time leading scorer has figured in just eight Ligue 1 games this campaign and 11 in all competitions due to injury.

EPL: Redknapp blasts Mourinho after Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Tottenham

 December 23, 2019

Former Premier League star, Jamie Redknapp has criticised Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho for the tactics he used during Spurs’ 2-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.

Two goals from Willian gave Frank Lampard’s men all three points against Tottenham.

But Redknapp now believes that Mourinho got his team selection wrong for starting Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier in the midfield against Chelsea.

“Frank selected a system that Tottenham could not handle, and that’s that,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“When I saw Mourinho’s XI, what stood out to me was the midfield. Eric Dier and Moussa Sissoko started together and I did not think that would be enough to get control of the game.

“Mourinho had good players in Harry Winks and Tanguy Ndombele sitting on the bench.

“The Portuguese tried to fix it at half time, bringing on Christian Eriksen for Dier. But Chelsea imposed their game on Tottenham throughout.

“It was fast-paced, the young players showed their quality, Willian put on a masterclass, N’Golo Kante did what he does in midfield and Spurs had no answer.”
Mourinho’s men will now take on Brighton in their next Premier League fixture on December 26.

Gary Neville reveals how Son should’ve kicked Rudiger without getting Red carded

 December 23, 2019

Former Manchester United star, Gary Neville has revealed what Tottenham forward, Son Heung-min would have done to Chelsea’s Antonio Rudiger without collecting a red card in their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Son was one of the villains of the piece on Sunday as Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham lost 2-0 at home to Chelsea.

Brazilian forward Willian opened the scoring on 12 minutes with a fine curling effort and scored his second goal from the penalty spot.

Son was sent off in the second half for kicking out at Rudiger after he did not win a free-kick after appearing to be felled by the German defender.

Head coach Jose Mourinho was not happy with the decision to send Son off and aimed a dig at Rudiger saying he hoped the German’s “broken ribs” were ok.

Neville told Sky Sports, “If you’re clever you can do it without making it look like you’re kicking out and extending your leg.

“You can do it, you can, you can just roll over and make it look not too bad, you can do it in a nice way!”

Oliseh reveals why Lampard defeated Mourinho, singles out one Chelsea player

 December 23, 2019

Former Super Eagles manager, Sunday Oliseh, has said Chelsea defeated Tottenham 2-0, because Frank Lampard opted to put up “an exhibition of proactive football”.

Willian’s first-half brace saw the Blues take all three points on Sunday.

Oliseh, writing on his Twitter account, singled out the Brazilian for his fine display.

“Such a dominant exhibition of proactive football by Chelsea vs Tottenham, epitomized by this exceptional player in Willian.

“Tactically and all other forms, Chelsea players and staff were better in my opinion. Shame racism showed it’s ugly face once again. Bravo Chelsea,” he tweeted.

EPL: Lampard fires back at Mourinho for saying he used Conte’s tactics

 December 23, 2019

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has hit back at Jose Mourinho’s remarks, that he copied Antonio Conte’s tactics to beat Tottenham on Sunday.

The Blues won 2-0 thanks to a brace from Willian.
Lampard was unimpressed with Mourinho’s swipe at him and insisted his system is different to the one Conte used, when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge.

“No, it didn’t factor in at all,” Lampard told reporters in response to Mourinho’s accusation he copied Conte’s tactics.

“I don’t know if I want to go through all the players, but I’m sure half of them weren’t here [in Conte’s time].

“I know [Fikayo] Tomori wasn’t, [Mason] Mount wasn’t, [Tammy] Abraham wasn’t, and I’m not trying to clone anyone’s system.

“I think Conte’s system was an incredible one that won the league at Chelsea, but the way I play it and the message I give is different.

“It’s not as simple as if you play 3-4-3 you’re cloning somebody else, otherwise you’d all be cloning each other.

“It was more a question of “Can this system help us defensively and offensively against Tottenham and the way they play?”

“It was my choice to play it, not to do with whether players understand it. Having said that, the players took the plan on incredibly well as we all saw.”

EPL: John Terry mocks Mourinho, Tottenham after Chelsea’s 2-0 win

 December 23, 2019

Former Chelsea captain, John Terry, has mocked Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur, following their 2-0 defeat on Sunday.

Willian scored twice in the first half, as Blues took all three points in the London Derby.

It was a much needed three points, after just one win in five matches for Terry’s former team mate, Frank Lampard.

EPL: Guardiola speaks on leaving Manchester City

 December 23, 2019

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has said that he will try staying at the club for next season before leaving the Etihad.

Guardiola’s contract runs out at the end of next season; and questions are constantly being asked whether the boss would consider extending his deal.

Speaking with the press on Monday ahead of City’s Premier League clash with Wolves, Guardiola said, “This is my fourth season, next season will be the fifth – I’ll try to stay next season.

“It is a long time. I have answered this question recently many times, I am incredibly good here. I have to see if I deserve a new contract…

“The level has increased a lot and expectations are higher and we have to see if we can handle it. It is not just up to me. Now we have a break with the family and prepare for Wolves and the rest. We have time to think about it in the future.”

Asked whether the vision he had when he started at Manchester City was coming to fruition, the Spaniard said, “It’s good. We’re working with the same people. Players change but I didn’t expect much.
“I was curious to see if we could survive in the Premier League but I came with my family, the friends are the same…
“I know people at the club, I know more about the competition than before. I tried to settle quick and do the job.”

Tottenham v Chelsea: Mourinho reveals action against Son’s red card, blasts VAR operator

 December 23, 2019

Tottenham manager, José Mourinho, has confirmed that the club have appealed against Son Heung-min’s red card during their 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Son was sent off in the second half after VAR ruled he kicked out at Cheleea defender Antonio Rüdiger.
At first, referee Anthony Taylor overlooked the incident but VAR checked it and deemed he was guilty of violent conduct, ending up with a red card.

Tottenham are now waiting for news from the Football Association to see whether he will be available for Boxing Day’s clash with Brighton.

“I hope Son is not punished five times,” Mourinho said, according to the Guardian UK.

“One time was the foul that Rüdiger did on him. The second is to be sent off. The third would be not to play against Brighton.

“The fourth not to play against Norwich and the fifth not to play against Southampton. So I hope to be punished twice is enough, he doesn’t deserve for the third the fourth or the fifth.

“Mr Paul Tierney decides yes and Mr Anthony Taylor who was in the game, in real time, five metres from the situation, Mr Taylor decided no.

“So who was refereeing the game? Not Mr Taylor. It was Mr Tierney. I think not a red card, VAR was to support football, to bring true football, to bring true to the spectacle and they did that with the penalty decision and they killed the game with Son’s decision. The situation with Son, I think Mr Tierney made it wrong. It’s the wrong call.

“This is England, this is the Premier League, this is the best competition in the world, with characteristics that if we change them we are killing the best league in the world. Mr Taylor had the feeling, he was there, he saw it clearly so I think it’s the wrong call.”

If Spurs are not successful in their appeal, the South Korean, will miss the game. If that is the case, Mourinho says his side will have to fight an “injustice.

“It would be a big loss,” the Portuguese said.
“We don’t have a big squad. We don’t have lots of players.

“This moment is a moment where it is normal to think about rotations and very difficult situations for players to play every game.

“We don’t have [Érik] Lamela and it’s a big loss for us. But if that happens then we have to try to cope with it and to fight against injustice. But the way to fight against injustice is to give our best and the boys that are going to play are going to try and get results in it.”
