LaLiga: Chukwueze’s release clause to be increased to N24bn

Villarreal are set to offer Samuel Chukwueze a new deal, which will also see his release clause rise up to €60million (about N24bn), Marca reports.
The move is to ward off reported interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

The Super Eagles winger’s current deal which runs up until 2023, includes a release clause of €40m (about N14bn).
Chukwueze broke into the Yellow Submarine first team last season and he has quickly established himself as a fans favourite at the El Madrigal.
He has featured in six of their seven LaLiga games so far this season, and he looks set to play a key role this season for Villarreal, alongside Santi Cazorla and Pau Torres.

Newcastle vs Man Utd: Solskjaer speaks on getting sacked as manager

 October 6, 2019

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has urged the Glazer family not to sack him, because he’ll get it right at United.
Solskjaer heads to Newcastle today and despite the Red Devils’ worst start to a League season for 30 years, he insists he’s not panicking, and is hoping the Glazers don’t either.

“Do you know my career? It’s been loads of ups but some downs as well, both as a player and as a coach.
“At Molde and Cardiff I had tough times. I’ve been at that bottom end in the table. It’s not a nice feeling.
“If you get time to do what you are setting out to do, it’ll be fine. This is a period now with some fine lines going against us, but we’ll get there,” the Norwegian told the media ahead of the trip to St James.

Solskjaer will face the biggest crisis in his time as United manager, if his stars lose at struggling Newcastle.
“Sometimes you don’t get what you deserve in terms of results,” he said.
“Only once this season have we played a game that we didn’t deserve to get anything.

“I know that we haven’t started as well as we hoped for. But we have more points in the games we have played this season compared to the equivalent fixtures against those same clubs last year.
“We have two more points than in the same games last season. So it’s not all that bad.”

LaLiga: Zidane speaks on Valverde

on
 October 6, 2019

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has hailed Federico Valverde’s form, after their 4-2 win over Granada on Saturday.
Valverde, 21, made his third straight LaLiga start for Madrid, setting up a goal for Eden Hazard, as Los Blancos moved four points clear at the top.

The Uruguay international’s display was lauded by Zidane, who praised the midfielder’s energy.
“I’m happy for him. He deserves it, he’s a player that’ll always prove just how good he is.
“He’s improving, he’s doing exceptionally well and he’s always moving forward, he wants to get on the ball and he had a hand in the goals.
“This is a team game and that first-half performance was brilliant in every sense. We did really well in terms of getting out of our half with the ball.

“That’s the kind of player he [Valverde] is. He’s a bit of a modern player, he’s got a fantastic engine on him, it’s not only in attack because he puts in just as much work in defence too and that’s important in the modern game and he’s doing well, just as many of them are.
“I’m delighted for Fede because he’s getting game time and he deserves it,” the Madrid coach told a news conference.

Inter Milan vs Juventus: How Sarri described Conte’s team ahead of Serie A clash

 October 5, 2019

[Image: 5D5BF11F-8CB6-4177-A6DD-1ECC4FA8E595.jpeg]

Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri, has warned his team that they will face “a complete team”, when they play Inter at San Siro on Sunday.
He therefore called for the Serie A champions to build on their recent strong performances.

Inter are top of Serie A with a 100 per cent record after six games, while Juve sit two points behind them going into the Derby d’Italia.
Antonio Conte is enjoying the kind of start to life in Milan that he experienced at the Bianconeri, where he achieved an unbeaten first league campaign.
“We are going up against a strong team, in a moment of good health.

“In this game there are no favourites; I only see two strong teams. It’s a great feeling to know how to play a game like this.
“Inter are a complete team, very dangerous and good at bouncing back. It will be a beautiful match.
“It will be important to leave San Siro having made a good performance. Looking at the table would be a gross mistake,” Sarri told reporters.

EPL: Man Utd react to Pogba’s demand for £600,000-a-week contract

 October 6, 2019

Manchester United have denied that Paul Pogba is making fresh wage demands, according to SportsMail.
United are angered at reports that Pogba is asking for £600,000-a-week to stay at Old Trafford.

The club fear the French midfielder is being scapegoated, for a miserable start to the season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pogba, who was keen on joining Real Madrid last summer, has played only twice since August because of a recurring ankle problem and is a doubt for Sunday’s game at Newcastle.
A club source said: “Paul still has two years left on his current deal with an option of an extra year so there’s been no talks about a new contract and nothing from Paul saying he wants an increase in wages.

“He’s fully focused on getting 100 per cent fit again and helping the team.
“Anyone that says he’s been asking for £600,000-a-week is wrong and it’s a surprise to us when someone in the game like Karren Brady [West Ham vice-chairman] refers to it.”
Brady wrote in her weekend newspaper column, that United should sell Pogba if he’s demanding that sort of money.

LaLiga: Hazard finally scores as Real Madrid stay top

Eden Hazard netted his first goal for Real Madrid, as they beat Granada 4-2 at the Bernabeu on Saturday, to remain top of LaLiga.
Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and James Rodriguez also scored, as Zinedine Zidane’s team extended their lead at the top of the table to four points.

Granada fought back from 3-0 down, with second half goals through Darwin Machis and Domingos Duarte, but failed to earn a point.
It was an important victory for Madrid, who drew 2-2 to Club Brugge at home in the Champions League in midweek.
Madrid defender, Dani Carvajal, did not hide his discomfort about conceding the two late goals.

“We can’t afford to suffer like that after leading 3-0, we need to correct this tendency. We got away with it today and against Levante but if we keep doing this we’re going to drop points,” he told reporters.
“It’s not a sign that we’re very reliable and we need to be more ruthless but whatever happens this weekend we’ll still be top.”

EPL: Pochettino speaks on dumping Tottenham after 3-0 loss to Brighton

on
 October 5, 2019

[Image: 3FAE5E48-7624-4EBA-A6F0-2E9CC12EC4E6.jpeg]

Tottenham boss, Mauricio Pochettino, has said he has no intention of dumping the club after recent poor results.
After their 7-2 bashing in the hands of Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, Spurs were beaten 3-0 by Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.

Addressing the press after the game on Saturday, Pochettino, who is now under enormous pressure, said, “My commitment is there after five and a half years. I know very well this business. What I already know is that the faith and belief is there.
“That’s not a point now to talk about.
“What I told you in the last year or in pre-season is there, but there’s no point in going back.

“The point is to try to be positive. The only way you can fight negative energy is to be more positive than it.
“I think that is not a topic that is true, to stay all together as long as the club let you stay all together.
“As I said to your colleague that is a question for me, but it’s a question that’s not for me.”

On Spurs goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris who sustained injury during the game, the Argentina explained, “Of course [Lloris’ injury] affected the game.
“We cannot take the credit from Brighton, but the team suffered a massive impact from that action.
“We tried to find a different way to play in the second half and we didn’t have much luck.
“At 3-0 you could see the game was over. I want to say sorry to the fans and thank them for their massive effort.
“I think the news is not good. We have to wait, they are going to explain the real situation. Everyone saw on the pitch when he landed that it wasn’t a good situation.”

EPL: Pep Guardiola speaks on retaining title after Man City’s 2-0 lose to Wolves

on
 October 6, 2019

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has admitted that his side will face a major battle to hold on to the title they won last season.
Manchester City fell 8 points behind Liverpool after their shock 2-0 loss to Wolves on Sunday.

Liverpool defeated Leicester 2-1 earlier on Saturday to open the gap.
Guardiola conceded that Pep Guardiola’s Man City now hold a huge advantage in the title race.
“It’s a lot of points. They [Liverpool] haven’t dropped any points, for many circumstances.

“But it’s better for us not to think that one team is eight points ahead,” the Spaniard told the press at Etihad after the game.

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has reacted to his side’s 4-1 victory over Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday.
Lampard also hailed the leadership qualities of winger, Willian after his impressive display against Southampton.

Goals from Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante and Michy Batshuayi gave Lampard’s men all three points against the host.
“I didn’t think we started that well, even though doing so had been something we’d talked about before. The goal came at the right time and after that I felt pretty comfortable. Getting four away from home – we’re scoring – so it’s a nice afternoon,” Lampard told Match of the Day.
“Tammy’s [Abraham] performance was great, his all-round performance and his work off the ball. But I must say I thought Willian was immense – he is an example in what he was doing on and off the ball. He’s a leader – not one that shouts – but in how he performs.

“Let’s not get carried away, it’s a long season and we feel we might have picked up more points than we’ve actually got. We’ve not been at our absolute best and we can be a lot better. We shouldn’t be sloppy, at 2-0 we should go 3-0. We’re scoring goals, great, but can we tighten up? Yes.”
Lampard added: “I liked a lot of the stuff Callum Hudson-Odoi did, there’s competition in those wide areas now. I thought it was a really good performance, really bright stuff, I’m disappointed he didn’t get his goal.”

Gerard Pique accused of deliberately getting a yellow card in order to guarantee playing against Real Madrid in El Clasico

Barcelona center-back, Gerard Pique has been accused of deliberately getting booked in order to avoid a match ban in their next game so as to play in the El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 26.

During Sunday clash in Barca's 4-0 win against Sevilla, the Spanish defender kicked the ball away and picked up his fifth yellow card of the season which will see get a one-match suspension.

The 32-year-old will now miss Barcelona's game against Eibar but is free to play against fierce rivals Real Madrid at the Camp Nou a week later.

Spanish outlet Marca reported that Pique's actions were intentional, with referee Miguel Antonio Mateu Lahoz forced into booking the defender in the 85th minute when Barca were four goals to the good.

Last season, Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos was caught up in a similar situation.

The Spanish defender was suspended for two matches by UEFA for receiving a yellow card on purpose last February, in a first-leg win against Ajax in the last-16 of the Champions League.

Ramos later admitted saying: 'I would be lying if I said I didn't force [the booking],' but the Spaniard got his just rewards as Real were knocked out of the competition in the second leg without him.

In contrast, Ronaldo has bagged 419 league goals in the top 5 leagues. He scored 84 goals in Premier League, 311 in La Liga and now 24 in Serie A.

Premier League Relegation: Manchester United Fighting A Battle To Avoid It

Manchester United suffered yet another well-deserved defeat as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are only two points above the relegation zone now.
Manchester United's dismal form continued as Matty Longstaff's debut goal earned Newcastle United a 1-0 Premier League victory and piled the misery on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Having rattled the crossbar in the first half, Matty Longstaff - partnering his older brother Sean in midfield - fizzed in the winner with a superb 72nd-minute strike at St James' Park.

Things would have been different had Harry Maguire converted a simple chance before the break, while Fabian Schar denied Marcus Rashford a tap-in just prior to Newcastle's goal.

But it was 19-year-old Matty Longstaff who had the final say as Steve Bruce, on his 400th Premier League game as a manager, secured a first win over the Red Devils, whose winless run on the road has stretched to 11 matches in all competitions.

Tyson Fury Sparks Brawl With Braun Strowman In WWE Ring,Security Rush In(Photos)

Tyson Fury had his first taste of WWE action after taking his feud with Braun Strowman to the next level by sparking a mass brawl on Monday Night RAW, MySportDab reports.

Fury first came to blows with the American wrestler on Smackdown last week, before being escorted from the building by security.

But the Gypsy King was back on Monday, invited as a guest on Monday Night RAW, where he demanded an apology from Strowman for being disrespected.

After being introduced to the US crowd, he said: 'Last week I was here minding my own business, Braun tried to make me look like a fool. I wound up getting chucked out, so tonight I'm here to demand an apology.'

Strowman then entered the ring and hit back: 'Look man, I was messing around and trying to have a little fun with you last Friday on Smackdown. That is, until I saw the way you looked at me like you wanted a piece of this.

'I don't know if you heard, but when security was dragging your a*** out of the building I was shouting "let him go" because I promise you, the last thing you want is to get in my ring. You have no idea what I'm capable of. I will literally eat you for lunch.'

After some more verbal sparring, things turned physical as Strowman lifted Fury into the corner before security burst into the ring to break the pair up. watch the video..

Milan Sack Marco Giampaolo After Only 9 Points In 7 Serie A Matches

Milan have officially sacked Marco Giampaolo and are expected to replace him with former Fiorentina and Inter boss Stefano Pioli.

Four defeats in the opening seven rounds, and deeply unconvincing wins over Brescia, Hellas Verona and Genoa, were not enough to keep Giampaolo in the role.

“AC Milan announce that Marco Giampaolo has been removed from the post of first team Coach. The club wishes to thank Marco for the work done and wish him all the best in his professional career.”

Giampaolo only replaced Gennaro Gattuso in the Rossoneri’s hotseat over the summer, having spent the past three seasons establishing Sampdoria as a Serie A team.

However, four defeats in his first seven League games was exacerbated by poor performances and a lack of supporter confidence.

The ex-Sampdoria Coach also came under fire for scrapping his famed 4-3-1-2 formation after just one match.

The Diavolo hoped to bring in Luciano Spalletti, but Inter were unable to agree a severance package with the Coach.

As a result, Milan have moved for Pioli, who is likely to put pen to paper on a one-year contract with the option of a second.

He is widely considered an underwhelming choice, given he failed with Inter and has not won any senior silverware in 16 years as a Coach.

Barcelona Still Owe Liverpool Almost €100m For Coutinho

The financial figures detailed in Barcelona's 2018/19 annual report show that the LaLiga giants owe other clubs a total of 260.7m euros.

Barcelona still owe Liverpool just under 100 million euros from the 2018 signing of Philippe Coutinho, according to figures released by the LaLiga club.

Barça's 2018/19 annual report, issued by the LaLiga champions on Sunday, reveals that they owe other clubs a total of 260.7m euros, with Liverpool their chief creditor.

Liverpool still due 94.06m euros for Coutinho
In all, the Reds are still to receive 94.06m euros from the deal for Coutinho: 27.9m in payments due in the short-term, and 66.67m pending long-term.

After moving to Barça in a transfer worth 160m euros, the Brazilian failed to impress at the Camp Nou and this summer joined Bayern Munich on an initial year-long loan.

Among the other transfer fees yet to be fully paid up by the Catalans, they owe 30.3m to Bordeaux for Malcom, 10.93m to Bayern for Arturo Vidal, 31.4m to Valencia for Neto and 48.62m to Ajax for Frenkie de Jong.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could face UK travel ban if Britain exits EU without a deal

Football stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo could face being banned from entering the United Kingdom if British Prime minister Boris Johnson keeps to his promise of exiting the European Union by October 31 without a deal.

Exiting the EU without a deal, also known as 'hard brexit', will ensure the UK has strict rules banning people with criminal conviction from coming to the UK.

If a Hard Brexit occurs, Ronaldo and Messi might have to lawyer up before they can enter the UK because they have been convicted of tax crimes in the past.

Boris Johnson right now is struggling to reach an agreement with his EU counterparts over Britain's imminent departure from the EU but the new regulations in case a hard brexit occurs will deny anyone who has been convicted of tax fraud, a visa.

A Hard Brexit will also affect many UEFA Champions League teams, as a lot of players with criminal history will be denied visas. As it stands now Marcelo, Diego Costa and many more could be denied visas for tax evasion crimes.

Andrew Osborne, a lawyer with the firm Lewis Silkin, explained to Spanish Sports paper AS: "If you are an EU citizen and you have been convicted of an offence or have had a prison sentence imposed [including suspended sentences] you will be denied entry to the United Kingdom."
