El Clasico: Zidane reveals why he is not happy after 0-0 draw

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has said the 0-0 draw between Barcelona and Real Madrid on Wednesday, was “not good enough”.

Gareth Bale saw a goal correctly disallowed for offside in the second half at Camp Nou, a result that leaves Barca and Madrid level on points atop LaLiga.

The two rivals are now five points clear of third-placed Sevilla, with Getafe a point farther behind in fourth place.

Zidane was left frustrated with the result, given the chances his side created early on.
“The result isn’t good enough for me.

“We could’ve done something more, but that’s football.

“If you have chances, you have to score them, and this is what we were missing in certain instances.
“We played a serious match, we were focused for the 90 minutes. It was a good Clasico, a good football match. It only lacked goals.
“We have to be happy with the match because it’s against a very good opponent,” Zidane said to reporters.

El Clasico: Zidane singles out five Real Madrid players after 0-0 draw with Barcelona

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has named five of his players that performed well, in a 0-0 draw with Barcelona on Wednesday night.

Zidane picked out Gareth Bale, Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde, Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane for praise.

Bale was something of a surprise inclusion in the first XI and Zidane was very happy with his performance, given it was only the eighth league game this season in which he has started.

The Welsh winger also saw an effort ruled out for offside in the second half.

“Everyone played well. Bale hadn’t played much and he had a great game.

“[Toni] Kroos and Fede [Valerde] in his position, Raphael [Varane], Sergio [Ramos]… everyone [played well].

“The team put in a great shift. When you play a game like that in this stadium… we deserved a bit more,” Zidane told a press conference after the game.

Sampdoria vs Juventus: What Cristiano Ronaldo said after 2-1 victory

Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo, has reacted to his side’s 2-1 victory over Sampdoria in the Serie A encounter on Wednesday night.

Ronaldo won the game for Maurizio Sarri’s men with a lovely header at the back post after Paulo Dybala had scored the first goal for Juve.

The 34-year-old said he was happy for the result, adding that his goal against the host was ‘nice’.
Speaking after the match, Ronaldo told Sky Sports Italia: “2.56 meters? I didn’t know I jumped that high, I’m happy about the result.

“We played better than Sampdoria, with a great attitude. It was a very nice goal, I’m very happy about this.”

Ronaldo added: “Supercup? It’s a final, 50-50. Lazio are a very strong team, but we have confidence and I hope that Juventus can win, that’s what we want.”

“I’m fine, I spent a month with knee pain. Now I’m fine and I want to help Juventus win games and trophies.”

EPL: Arsenal board warn Arteta over buying new players in January

Arsenal’s board have warned Mikel Arteta, that he will have limited funds in the January transfer window, according to the UK Sun.

The Gunners expect to reach an agreement with Arteta this week, after holding talks with the 37-year-old.

The Spaniard faces a huge task, as Arsenal have won only once in their last 12 fixtures and are seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the Premier League.

During the meeting with managing director Vinai Venkatesham and contract negotiator, Huss Fahmy, Arteta reportedly discussed potential transfer targets along with the direction he wants the team to move in.

But he was told by Arsenal chiefs that he will have “limited funds” to work with next month.

EPL: Ancelotti angry with Arsenal over Arteta choice

Carlo Ancelotti is not happy to miss out on the Arsenal job to Mikel Arteta, after holding what he believed to be successful talks with the Gunners.

The former Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan manager is now set to take over at Everton.

This means both he and Arteta could be in their respective dugouts, for the Premier League clash between the two clubs this weekend.

However, Ancelotti was hoping to find himself in the away dressing room at Goodison Park on Saturday, rather than coaching the home team.

Italian journalist, Fabio Santini, talking to 7 Gold’s Il Processo show, claimed Ancelotti had agreed in principle to take over at the Emirates, only for Arsenal chiefs to change their minds and instead appoint Arteta.

Thie left the Italian “disappointed”, because they were his “first choice”, after he was sacked by Napoli.

El Clasico: Sergio Ramos blasts referee after 0-0 draw

Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, has questioned why Video Assistant Referee (VAR), was not used to check two “clear” fouls on Raphael Varane in the penalty area, during Wednesday’s goalless Clasico.

In the first half at Camp Nou, Varane was caught by a high challenge from Barca defender, Clement Lenglet.
Varane also had his shirt pulled by Ivan Rakitic, when competing for a corner.

Referee Alejandro Jose Hernandez Hernandez did not award a penalty and neither incident was checked using VAR.
“We saw them at the break and they look pretty clear. They’re both penalties, but we can’t change that now.

“VAR is here to help. It’s bad luck. On another day, it’ll be our turn to have a penalty that they don’t check,” Ramos told Movistar after the game.

Meet Neymar's 11-man Gang Being Paid £10k-per-month Each To Follow Him Around

PSG star Neymar transcends the world of football, enjoying the glitzy showbiz lifestyle of a true celebrity.

From attending elite fashion parties to taking fancy holidays, the Brazilian superstar knows how to live.

And if you're lucky, you will be part of Neymar's inner circle, called the 'parcas' in his homeland, who indulge in the high-life with him.

Parcas is a slang term in Portuguese meaning 'partners', and just like Vinny Chase in US TV show Entourage, the footballer has a group of pals he trusts more than anyone else.

Enter the world of one of the most famous sports stars on the planet.

THE THREE AMIGOS

There's a popular joke in Brazil that if you're Neymar's friend, you won't feel the current economic and unemployment crisis that's sweeping the country.

And these live-in mates are reportedly all on the payroll, earning around £10k-per-month from the former Barcelona star.

Gil Cebola, Jota Amancio and Carlos Henrique are key members of his entourage, each providing a different role within 'Team Neymar'.

They all live with him in the posh Paris suburb Bougival, in a mansion worth millions.

Cebola worked briefly as his agent, before assuming his role as chief photographer, managing Neymar's live broadcasts and videos on social media.

Off the back of that, Cebola has launched a clothing brand, a tattoo shop and an events production company.

He now has over 500,000 followers on Instagram, and was selected by Google to photograph an ad campaign in Brazil in recent years. It pays to know Neymar.

Amancio, who calls himself Neymar's personal adviser, is perhaps closest to the forward.

Footballers like Neymar are stars on a completely different level. It's insane. It's like a huge cult

The pair played together in the youth ranks at Santos, and he is akin to a "brother" to the footballer.

"We met when we were only 13 years old and since then we have grown up together," Amancio told Marca.

"We lived in the same house for seven years, we studied together, and until 2010 we played in the same team,"

While Henrique appears to be the brains of the trio, looking after his pal's commercial and business interests off the pitch.

The three were seen partying with Neymar in Las Vegas, alongside Serena Williams, a host of stunning models and UFC Octagon Girls Jhenny Andrade and Camila Oliveira, while Brazil were playing in the Copa America in 2016.

For Neymar's 26th birthday his friends also helped him organise a party at the exclusive Pavillion Cambon in Paris, where guests included Lewis Hamilton, Brazilian Ronaldo, and Victoria's Secret beauty Izabel Goulart.

SHARE THE WEALTH

With a net worth of around £500m, Neymar isn't afraid to show his entourage a good time.

After all, he believes the parcas are the reason he is where he is today.

Before his record-breaking transfer to PSG, he flew them to the party island of Ibiza where the gang partied on yachts, in super clubs and rented a huge mansion.

It made NBA superstar Draymond Green take note.

"We see stars in America and it's amazing," he said on ESPN.

"But [footballers like Neymar] are stars on a completely different level over there. It's insane. It's like a huge cult."

And after his £200m move to Paris, they all went straight to St Tropez, partying at a beach club.

Club revellers saw 12 bottles of champagne delivered to his table, while a funk version of the Brazilian national anthem played as a backdrop.

UNDER PRESSURE

Being Neymar isn't easy.

The expectation on the shoulders of one of the world's best footballers for club and country could make a mere mortal crumble.

Gustavo Almeida, another close friend, explained what the entourage provides.

"He lives in a pressure-cooker and we are an escape [from it]," he told Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte.

"We don't talk about football. We're a way for him to let go of the stress of his life. We're together to chat, travel."

Every Brazilian kid dreams of becoming the next Ronaldo, Zico or Pele... but now just being friends with the new wonderkid on the scene seems to be just as lucrative.

Quote: Neil Shipperley Sentenced For Public Masturbation

A former Premier League striker who masturbated in front of a mother and her 16-year-old daughter has been given a 12-month community order.

Ex-Crystal Palace star Neil Shipperley, 45, exposed his genitals from inside his van, in Hillingdon, west London, on 17 September.

The mother said she was "disgusted" by the sight.

Shipperley must complete 20-days of rehabilitation as part of the order given at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court.

Prosecutor Shaan Sethi told the court Shipperley had driven his van up to the victims, winding down his window and stopping the vehicle.

'Predator'
Mr Sethi said the pair had turned to thank Shipperley for letting them cross the road but "they then noticed he was holding his penis in his hand and staring directly at them".

They walked away from the vehicle, but Shipperley, from West Drayton, west London, followed in his van.

In a victim impact statement, the mother said: "Some people may see flashers as pests or a nuisance to society. My view of Neil Shipperley is as a predator. His aim was to intimidate us, to violate us, to shock us and to scare us."

Shipperley, who admitted intentionally exposing his genitals intending that someone would be caused alarm or distress, had "expressed anguish, embarrassment, shame, but above all remorse," the court heard.

9 arrested after El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid turned violent (photos)

About nine people have been arrested by police and 46 injured as Catalonia independence protesters threw rocks at police on the night of 'El Clasico' the much rivaled match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, which had previously been postponed due to security fears.

As Barcelona played Real Madrid on Wednesday night at the Camp Nou stadium, masked protesters carrying Catalan seperatist flags in support of Catalonia independence from Spain, set bins on fire and threw glass bottles and rocks at police, who responded with foam bullets in a street outside the stadium.

The protesters, set up barricades in the middle of the street, which they then set on fire after police arrived in dozens of vans.

This is the first violent protest in Catalonia region since October when Spain’s top court jailed nine Catalan separatist leaders over their role in a failed 2017 bid for independence.

It should be noted that this classico match which ended 0-0 was supposed to be played in December but was postponed due to serious security concerns and on Wednesday night thousands of Catalonia protesters could be seen chanting "Independence" and "Free political prisoners"

The main goal of the protests is to get Spain's government to negotiate on Catalonia's right to self-determination and independence from Spain and to achieve freedom for the seperatists who were jailed.

Liverpool confirm signing of RB Liepzig star Minamino for £7.25m (photos)

Liverpool Football club of England have confirmed the signing of Japan international Takumi Minamino from German club, Red Bull Salzburg for £7.25m on a four-and-a-half-year contract .

Minamino , an attacker who has been on Liverpool's radar for a while, successfully passed a medical on Merseyside on Wednesday after Jurgen Klopp's side triggered his very cheap release clause.

Quote:Minamino, on his unveiling said; “It has been a dream, my dream to become a Liverpool player. And I’m so excited that the moment has come true.

“To play in the Premier League was one of my targets. I think this is the top-class league in the world; I was thinking if my career as a footballer progressed smoothly, someday I would be able to play in the Premier League.

Head coach Jurgen Klopp, from far away Qatar where his club is participating in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup said about the Reds' new No.18:
Quote:
“This is fabulous news – a wonderful signing. We are really, really happy about this.
“Takumi is a very quick, very clever player, he finds space between the lines. He is brave with the ball but also brave without the ball – a proper team player. He makes the best of himself for the benefit of others.

“His Champions League experience is a big bonus and coming from the club and organisation he does, we know he’ll be well coached, used to an elite environment and had all the right experiences.

“It is fantastic work by our football operations team in how they’ve handled this transfer. Michael Edwards and the team deserve a lot of credit.

“It’s not hard to see why Salzburg is a favoured destination for players with real talent and hunger. From our experiences dealing with, and facing, Salzburg on and off the pitch in recent months, their reputation as a benchmark modern European club will only grow.

“I’m sure all the Liverpool supporters will go out of their way to make Takumi feel at home in our amazing city and club.

“I am also pretty sure as of now we have added to our numbers of the LFC family in Japan specifically. For those who follow us now because we have one of the country’s most exciting talents, I say welcome – it’s a special club to be part of.”

“Our supporters have had the chance to see him close up recently so I don’t need to sing too loudly about his qualities as they are already known.

EPL: Ozil to leave Arsenal as Arteta arrives

Arsenal playmaker, Mesut Ozil, is expected to join Fenerbahce in January, according to Fotomac.
Ozil is unhappy at the Emirates and he could leave on a loan deal.

It is believed that a deal to bring the German to Turkey is “very close”.

Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 and has played over 200 times for the Gunners.

The news comes amid speculation that captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is desperate to leave the Emirates, as the club prepares to announce Mikel Arteta as their new manager.

Arteta’s first job will be to convince some of the club’s biggest players, including Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Granit Xhaka, to buy into his project and commit their long-term futures to Arsenal.

Aubameyang is unsettled at Arsenal and considering a move away when the transfer window opens in January.

Wenger admits that Salah’s progression has earned him the right to be compared to Messi.

The Frenchman said the Egyptian has become the complete player just like Messi by adding assists to his game.

“I like Salah, the way of his evolution,” Wenger told beIN SPORTS on Thursday in front of a smiling Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Red’s Club World Cup final clash with Flamengo.
“Because he had touches last night [against Monterrey] of a playmaker.

“He created chances around the box that are exceptional, there were things of Messi in him last night and I like that a guy who can score so many goals also becomes the guy who gives assists.

“That is a complete player. That’s what we all admire and what we want from our players.”

EPL: Guardiola gives conditions to stay as Man City manager

Pep Guardiola’s future at Manchester City, could depend on if the club gives him funds to sign new players next summer, The Athletic reports.

The former Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss’ current contract expires in 2021.

But it is rumoured that Guardiola has a break clause and could quit the Etihad as early as next year.

Guardiola wants to overhaul his squad at the end of the season and is reportedly keen to sign at least one more centre-back, another left-back and a new forward.

It is understood that he is unhappy with how this season has panned out, with City 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool before Christmas and wants to revamp his squad.

After a trophyless first season, Guardiola led City to a silverware haul comprising seven out of eight of the domestic trophies available, including back-to-back titles and last season’s unprecedented treble.

EPL: Chelsea star told to leave Stamford Bridge for new club in January

France coach, Didier Deschamps, has told Chelsea striker, Olivier Giroud to leave Stamford Bridge for a new club in the January transfer window, where he will get more regular playing time.

Giroud has barely feature for Chelsea this season with Blues manager, Frank Lampard preferring Tammy Abraham as his first-choice striker.

The former Arsenal star recently expressed frustration while on international duty for France at his lack of minutes for Chelsea this season and said that he “will make a decision in January” over his future.

Speaking on the development, Deschamps urged the 33-year-old to decide the solution concerning his future at Chelsea urgently.

“His situation at Chelsea has not changed for two months,” Deschamps was quoted by the Daily Mirror as saying ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

“It would be better for him, obviously, to go to a club where he will have more playing time. If he cannot have this playing time at Chelsea, the idea is to be able to have it elsewhere. It is up to him to decide the solution.”

Deschamps added: “I don’t know what offers he has, where it might be possible for him to get more playing time.
“We saw each other not so long ago. As with every player, he’s the one who decides. But keep in mind that it’s the daily life of players with their clubs that leads to France selection. He knows it.”

Arsenal Announce Mikel Arteta As Their New Head Coach

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT

We're delighted to announce Mikel Arteta is joining the club as our head coach on Sunday.

Mikel, a former club captain, played for us for five seasons from 2011 to 2016 and has signed a three-and-a-half year contract.

Mikel said: “This is a huge honour. Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world. We need to be competing for the top trophies in the game and that’s been made very clear to me in my discussions with Stan and Josh Kroenke, and the senior people from the club.

“We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we’ll do it. I’m realistic enough to know it won’t happen overnight but the current squad has plenty of talent and there is a great pipeline of young players coming through from the academy.”

Mikel’s coaching team will be announced as soon as possible.

RE: SPORTS UPDATE - Edoman - 12-20-2019

Racism in football is getting worse because "fans are more stupid than before", according to former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure.

Several incidents throughout Europe have been reported in recent months, with many high-profile cases occurring in Italy's Serie A.

"I've had a chat with Fifa because this is something very important," said the former Ivory Coast international.

"It will be difficult because the way to win this case is going to be long."

He added: "Fans, people, now are more stupid than before."

Last month, striker Mario Balotelli, Toure's former City team-mate, called fans who shouted racist abuse at him during a match between Brescia and Verona "small-minded" and "imbeciles".

Cagliari fans made monkey noises towards Inter Milan's Romelu Lukaku earlier in the season, and recently Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport was criticised for the headline 'Black Friday' alongside images of Roma defender Chris Smalling and Lukaku.

There have also been incidents of racism in British top-flight football, with a man arrested after this month's Manchester derby for allegedly making a racist gesture.

Toure added: "Of course it is shocking because we are in 2019. In 2020, 2025 we have the kids coming through - what are we going to do? You can't continue like that."
