Pastor Taribo West Is Holding A Crusade In Lagos This December!!

Did the name Taribo West ring bell in your ear??
Yes of course!

Taribo West as a name and a brand doesn’t need much introduction.

A Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a defender and best remembered for his various unusual and colourful hairstyles.
West who played for the Nigeria national team and played with top footballers in clubs like inter-milan, Ac milan, Auxerre and even Derby County just to mention a few will be holding a crusade this month on the 31st at Igando, Lagos state.

Pastor West who started a church in 2014 which he called Shelter In The Storm Miracle Church of All Nations located around Opebi, Ikeja area of Lagos, will be holding a special crusade/cross-over on 31st of december 2019.

Former Super Eagles defender turned pastor, Taribo West is certainly not taking a backseat when it comes to preaching the word of God.
The ex-footballer who seems to be waxing stronger doing the work of the Lord, had a church in Italy where he was based while actively playing football but relocated to Nigeria carrying out his pastoral work without a congregation until 2014 when he floated his church.

You’re invited to the crusade..

Come with friends..families and even enemies and you wont return the same because It’s going to be explosive!!

EPL: Ancelotti finally agrees deal to coach Premier League club

Former Napoli manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has finally agreed a deal in principle to become Everton next permanent manager, according to Sky Sports.

DAILY POST had earlier reported that Ancelotti arrived Everton on Monday afternoon for talks about becoming the new manager at Goodison Park.

[url=https://dailypost.ng/2019/12/16/epl-ancelotti-arrives-england-to-takeover-at-premier-league-club/][/url]
Ancelotti was sacked as Napoli manager and replaced by Gennaro Gattuso last week.

The 60-year-old has been a target for Everton’s majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri and chairman Bill Kenwright since Marco Silva’s departure.

The former Bayern Munich and Real Madrid manager won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Community Shield during his tenure at Chelsea from 2009 until 2011.

Ancelotti has won three UEFA Champions League trophies over the course of his managerial career.

Everton release statement on Ancelotti’s ‘appointment’

[Image: skysports-carlo-ancelotti-bayern-munich_4291419.jpg]

Everton have released a statement insisting they have not appointed a new manager, amid reports that Carlo Ancelotti had agreed to join the club.

It is widely believed that Ancelotti is now the favourite for the job, with talks taking place between him and owner Farhad Moshiri.

Varying reports claimed Ancelotti had travelled to England for talks with Everton, with some suggesting he was on Merseyside and others in London.

But Everton, on Monday night, took the surprise step of confirming that no offers had been made.

“In the 11 days since Marco Silva left the Club, the Everton Board has been working to recruit a new permanent manager – and has held meetings with a number of candidates.

“We can confirm that thus far no contract offer has been made and no candidate has chosen to withdraw from the process.

“While the club is keen to confirm a new permanent manager as soon as possible, the only important duty is that the right appointment is made.

“While our process continues, Duncan Ferguson will remain as caretaker manager and will take charge of the side for Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Leicester City,” an official statement reads.

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has reacted to his side’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 draw with Bayern Munich.
Chelsea were drawn alongside the Bundesliga champions, when the draw for last 16 took place in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday.

Lampard said that his players must be at their best if they must beat Bayern Munich.

“This level of football, this level of Champions League knockout stage is a level of focus you need, absolute throughout both games,” Lampard told Chelsea’s website.

“Tiny moments in a game like this can be so crucial. Of course we want to be at our best going into the game, hopefully in good form, but the concentration levels and how we approach it will be maybe the deciding factor.

“Because I think we should be confident that we can beat Bayern Munich but understand that they are very strong.
“[It’s] A tough draw, but a good draw. I think that we knew that when you get through the group stages you are generally in with some big teams.

“We are certainly got one. We have history with them, of course, but this will be a tie in itself that will be very testing, over two games. But we’ll be ready for the challenge.”

Samuel Eto'o blames Africans for letting Saido Mane lose Ballon D'or to Lionel Messi

African football legend, Samuel Eto'o has blamed Africans for making Liverpool/Senegal star player Saido Mane miss out on winning the 2019 Ballon D'or.

Lionel Messi won the 2019 Ballon d'or while Mane came fourth in the Ballon d'or voting after enjoying an impressive year in which he won the champion league and helped Liverpool to second in the league, his work rate and skills have also been lauded by football analysts and fans worldwide but Eto'o a former Messi teammate feels Africans let their own brother down.
“If Sadio Mane won it and was on the podium, no one was going to complain because he deserves it and has been doing well and he had the best season,” Eto’o said as per IOL.
“Messi (Lionel) won because all the South Americans voted for him. I think the Europeans also voted for Virgil Van Dijk hence he was the runner-up.”
“Africans didn’t vote for Mane. That’s the big problem. African people have problems with other African people.
“We, as Africans, are letting ourselves down. We need to unite if we are serious about ending the dominance of the Europeans and the South Americans in the race to be crowned the best players in the world.”

George Weah of Liberia remains the only African to have won the award.

El Clasico: What Messi said about Hazard, Real Madrid’s game plan ahead of Wednesday’s clash

[Image: eden-hazard-real-madrid-2019-20_1uvvb434...luxplv.jpg]

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has said that no player can replace Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid.
Ronaldo spent nine years at Madrid, where he clashed with Messi during El Clasico fixtures, before joining Juventus in the summer of 2018.

Ahead of Wednesday’s home game against the Los Blancos, Messi was asked if Hazard could replace Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

He told Marca: “Hazard has a lot of quality. He is a different football player who can unbalance [defences], but I think he is different to Cristiano, with different characteristics.

“It is very difficult to replace Cristiano, but Hazard is also a great player.”

The Argentine superstar also opened up on Madrid’s tactical setup for their home and away matches.
“When we play at the Bernabeu, many more spaces are generated. They attack us more because they have the obligation as the host team and people push them for that.

“At the Camp Nou, they play another type of match, sitting a little further back, they are closer together and hit on the counter-attack because they have very fast players upfront.

“At the Bernabeu, we play 90 minutes equally. Here the game becomes more locked and is more complicated,” Messi added.

EPL: Arsenal players tell board who to appoint between Arteta, Ancelotti

[Image: SPORT-PREVIEW-Carlo-Ancelotti-and-Mikel-Arteta.jpg]

Mikel Arteta faces a huge battle to win over the Arsenal squad, as most of the players prefer Carlo Ancelotti to be named as their new manager, the UK Mirror reports.

Arteta is the big favourite to replace Unai Emery at the Emirates, with Ancelotti set to take the Everton job.
Arsenal Managing Director, Vinai Venkatesham and contracts negotiator Huss Fahmy, were pictured leaving Arteta’s house in the early hours of Monday following talks.

But the players were angling for Ancelotti, who they feel is more experienced.

Ancelotti has managed top clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain in the past and won the Champions League a few times.

Arteta has only been Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City, since he retired from playing.

Champions League: Sutton predicts Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City vs Real Madrid games

Former Chelsea striker, Chris Sutton has given his predictions for some of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 fixtures.

Chelsea were drawn alongside Bayern Munich, when the draw for last 16 took place in Nyon, Switzerland on Monday.
Champions League holders, Liverpool will battle La Liga giants, Atletico Madrid.

Manchester City will face Real Madrid, while Tottenham Hotspur will tackle Red Bull Leipzig.

Writing in his column for Daily Mail, Sutton said: “How will Jose Mourinho set up against the surprise German league leaders, Leipzig? This is a talented young side under [Julian] Nagelsmann. Sorry Jose, but I can see Leipzig nicking this.

“Bayern are enduring a pitiful Bundesliga season but walked their group.

“This will be quite the test for Frank Lampard’s Chelsea.

“If Real play their A game that could spell trouble for City. But Guardiola could have Aymeric Laporte back by then, which would be huge.

“Tough tie for Liverpool against Atletico Madrid but they are still the team to beat.”

The round of sixteen games will be played on February 18, 19, 25 and 26.

The second legs will be played on March 10, 11, 17 and 18 March.

Carabao Cup: Solskjaer speaks on playing Pogba, Dalot in Man United, Colchester clash

 December 17, 2019

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has disclosed he might feature Diogo Dalot when his side takes on Colchester United in the Carabao Cup fixture on Wednesday at Old Trafford.

He also said that midfielder, Paul Pogba is working hard to return to action for the Red Devils, adding that the France international is sick.

Pogba and Dalot have missed several matches for Solskjaer’s side so far this season due to injuries.

Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Colchester on Wednesday, Solskjaer was quoted by Man United’s official website as saying: “Maybe Diogo might return against Colchester after he’s had a week of training, but probably no one else,” said Ole.
“Of all things Pogba is now struck down with illness and he’s been off for two or three days. That’s not beneficial and that’s probably set him back quite a bit.

“As I’ve said so many times, Paul is a top player that we want to see playing his best football at Man United.

“We just need to get him match fit. He might be half an hour, 45, 60, 90 minutes – who knows – in the first game. We’re working hard to get him back, but now he’s ill.”

He added: “We’ve got a squad and we’ve got to rotate,” the manager said. “We did that on Thursday [against AZ Alkmaar] and we’re going to make changes again because there are so many games.

“I think that the team we’re going to put out is strong enough to win the game. At home, against a League Two team, you’re big favourites and you’ve got to expect that.

“But we’ve got to go out there and earn it. It’s going to be strong enough to create chances and, hopefully, score goals.”

The kick-off time for the match is 9pm.

EPL: Kanu Nwankwo tells Arsenal chiefs who to appoint as new manager

Arsenal legend, Kanu Nwankwo has urged the club’s chiefs to look for an experienced manager capable of handling players.
Kanu told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Lagos that Arsenal’s recent poor performances can be improved.
“The recent poor performances of Arsenal FC can improve with experienced management.

“I know every fan is disappointed with the games the club have been playing of recent. This is not the same Arsenal people used to know. But, all the same, we can still turn it around.

“We have a new interim coach, Freddie Ljungberg, but things are not really going on well for him. When you have players, they should always tell themselves the truth.

“The players alone cannot be blamed, but the entire management also. But it is clear that Arsenal are not where they are supposed to be, they have to change a lot of things and ensure that they return to the basics,” he said.

Kanu said everyone involved with the club should be blamed for the slide, advising that they should also all endeavour to improve themselves.

“We need a strong hand to bring back the glory days of Arsenal,’’ he said.

The former Super Eagles forward added that he was convinced a coach with a strong will and experience would help to improve the team’s performances.

EPL: Guardiola sends strong warning to Arteta over Arsenal job

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has warned Mikel Arteta, that it would be hard to turn around Arsenal’s fortunes this season.
Arteta is expected to become the Gunners’ next manager, with the North London club hoping he will be in charge for Saturday’s trip to Everton.

He will take over a team languishing in 10th place in the Premier League, after just one win in 12 matches in all competitions.
And Guardiola says his current No2 is facing a tough task at the Emirates.
“I think Arsenal [are] always one of the best teams of the last 20 years.

“When Arsene took over the team, he raised the club to another level and now they are struggling a little bit the last years.
“When the club takes a decision to replace the manager or buy players it’s always to rise to be better. Whether it’s going to happen or not, I don’t know.

“You know my opinion about Mikel. He’s a professional human being and a person, I don’t have doubts about that,” Guardiola said in quotes reported by Goal.

When Pochettino was handed the managerial reigns at the club back in 2014, he quickly set about promoting some of the younger members of the squad.

Kane was among those to be thrust into the limelight, and with the Argentine's guidance, he quickly emerged as one of the most promising young talents in English football.

Kane won the Golden Boot at the 2018 World Cup in Russia as England enjoyed a thrilling run through to the semi-finals, before inheriting the captain's armband earlier this year.

Pochettino was always able to get the best out of Kane, but as a collective, Tottenham failed to build on their Champions League final appearance in June at the start of the 2019-20 campaign.

The 47-year-old was relieved of his duties on November 21 after Spurs slipped into the bottom half of the table, with Mourinho drafted in for his first role in management since being sacked by Manchester United last December.

The Portuguese has won five of his seven matches in charge to date, with Kane helping himself to five goals in total while benefitting from a change in approach which has seen Tottenham rediscover their attacking spark.

Kane is wholeheartedly embracing the opportunity to learn from "one of the highest-level managers in our sport", as he told reporters: "I got on very well with Poch and I respect Poch very, very, very much.

"But Mourinho's got his own style, his own way of doing things. For me, it is about learning that way. My top-level career has only been with one manager, so for me, it's good to experience new things, see how different managers work.

"Mourinho's one of the highest-level managers in our sport, so I can only learn from him."

The north Londoners can move into the top four if they secure a home victory against Mourinho's former club Chelsea on Sunday.

Spurs were closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League prior to the ex-United manager's arrival, with Kane happy to admit that the players have raised their game to impress their new boss.

When asked how Mourinho has managed to turn fortunes around so quickly, Kane added: "It's hard to say. We weren't picking up results earlier in the season for one reason or another. Little things went our way towards the end [against Wolves].

"Whenever a new manager comes in, everyone's ready, wants to work, wants to impress. It's important over this month, a busy period, and in January that we carry it on. It's not just for an early period.

"We've been feeling good. We've scored goals in pretty much every game we've played with the new manager in charge so if we can get it right, grind out results like that throughout the season we'll be OK."

Liverpool and Chelsea linked Super Eagles player Samuel Chukwueze could cost interested clubs staggering N31.5 billion

Super Eagles Young player of the year, Samuel Chukwueze could soon leave Villareal to another club, but it sure won't come at a cheap price.

Chukwueze, who has twelve caps for the Super Eagles, after he debuted in a friendly against Uganda has made sixteen appearances for Villarreal this season in La Liga, and scored three goals with two assists, making him a valuable member of the Villareal squad.

Liverpool , Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a creative winger and see Chukwueze as a young winger who could take that roll.

Chelsea's scouting team have highlighted Borussia Dortmund star Jordan Sancho, Villareal's Chukwueze, Wilfried Zaha of Crystal Palace and Leon Bailey of Bayer Leverkusen as potential targets and will do anything to get any of them in January or in the summer.

According to top Spanish sports paper Marca,  Chukwueze's current buyout clause stands at 60 million euros, but Villarreal in new contract talks with the Nigerian want to increase that to 80 million euros (N31.5 billion), a staggering amount considering they signed him from Diamond Academy for 500,000 euros few years ago.

Read the Marca report below.

"The Nigerian has found a rich vein of form since the start of the 2018/19 season, and has appeared as an option for Chelsea as they look to secure their future for an era after both Willian and Pedro have left Stamford Bridge.

"It was initially mooted that Chelsea were looking to bring Jadon Sancho back to England in January, but according to the Telegraph, such a deal would perhaps been too complex to complete at this juncture."

The same report details Chelsea's long-standing interest in Chukwueze, and the Villarreal star is an option to replenish the Blues' forward options."

"He is one of a number of options to solve this problem, particularly in a wide-forward area, alongside Wilfried Zaha and Leon Bailey.
"Moussa Dembele would be one of Lampard's first choices to provide competition for Tammy Abraham in attack, and this looked like a deal that would be quite easy to complete given Rudi Garcia's aversion to using the former Celtic goalscorer since he was appointed."

Nigeria needs N14 billion to prepare for 2020 Olympics - Sports Minister, Sunday Dare

Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, has disclosed that Nigeria would need a whooping N14bn to adequately prepare for next year’s Olympics Game in Tokyo but reveals that the ministry has just N2bn in their budget.

Dare who spoke during the launching “the Adopt Campaign” in Lagos urged the corporate world to throw their weight behind the government to help keep the hopes of the athletes alive by supporting the initiative.
Quote:“The hope of the athlete is to be at the Olympics or the World Championship for their sport, to stand on the podium, and fly their country’s flag. They want to be the reasons why Nigeria’s flag should be hoisted and the national anthem is sung while the world watches.
This is their reward but it is also our honour and prestige, and pride among nations. It is this hope that drives them to invest in themselves, to work hard, to endure all odds, and try to surmount every challenge. We are that hope. Let’s not dash it,” the Minister appealed.
“To prepare for the Olympics, we need about N14bn and what we have in our budget is less than N2bn. This is why we want the corporate world to come in and support our quest to do well at the Olympics. Government cannot do it alone" Dare said.
He added, “For the Adoption Programme, we hope to reach at least 25 athletes in 11 of sports, with our 2020 Tokyo Olympic hopefuls. It is our belief that we have partners who will adopt one or any number of athletes and support them to win gold. By this, we hope we can give them the right pedestal to flourish, guarantees increased chances of success at the games.
