THEME: THE KINGDOM IN YOU


Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God (Mark 1:14).


Jesus came preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. He said the time was fulfilled, and that the Kingdom of God was near (Mark 1:15). What is the Kingdom of God? The Kingdom of God isn’t a place; it’s the reign of God, where He rules as Lord, and expresses Himself—His glory and His goodness.


That’s why Jesus cautioned that when we’re told, “the Kingdom of God is over there,” or “it’s over here,” don’t believe it, because the Kingdom doesn’t come by observation; it’s within you (Luke 17:20-21). God’s plan in this age is to set up His Kingdom in the hearts of men as a spiritual kingdom.


Recall when Jesus was brought before Pilate, in John 18:36-37; Pilate asked Him some questions to which He responded, “…My Kingdom is not of this world…” (John 18:36). God’s Kingdom isn’t a physical structure; yet Jesus said, “It has come!” Indeed, it has, because it’s in our hearts.


The Gospel today is that God’s Kingdom can be set up in the hearts of men; it has arrived! Jesus said, “…If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him” (John 14:23). This wasn’t provided in the days of Abraham, Moses, Elijah, Elisha, David, Solomon and the patriarchs of old; but it is in our day.


When Jesus came, He brought the Kingdom in Him. Now that we’ve received Him, we have the Kingdom in us: the glory, grace and the life of God— all of divinity has been set up in your heart! God is at home in you now. You’ve become, not just a citizen of the Kingdom, but also the bearer or carrier of the Kingdom, of divine verities. Hallelujah!


PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for your Kingdom that’s in my heart; your glory and righteousness that are in me and revealed through me. Your Kingdom reigns, and it’s established in the earth, and in the hearts of men as the Gospel is proclaimed around the world today, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I affirm that I am filled with the knowledge of God’s word in all wisdom and spiritual understanding! My heart is daily open to knowledge; therefore, the Word of God prevails mightily in me, producing glory in my life. 


My victory is undeniable, and all the blessings and results of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are evident in my life. I am God’s extension in the earth, and the power of the Holy Spirit resides and is fully operational in me. When I show up, burdens are lifted, and yokes destroyed.

I am a God-carrying vessel and a dispenser of eternal verities. I’ve received an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness. I reign in life, over and above the corrupting influences of this world: sickness, lack, and everything that limits. 


The grace of God is multiplied in my life through the knowledge of the Word in my heart. I am more than a man, the spirit of perfection is at work in me. I live out the supernatural life naturally, demonstrating the glory, wisdom, and excellence of divinity. I am joined to the Lord and have become inseparable with Him, bearing fruits of His righteousness that is inherent in my spirit.


I am loaded, my life is like a well-watered garden. I am fruitful and productive; making progress in every area of my life. I am complete in Christ, and every facet of my life is perfected for excellence. 


The Spirit guides and inspires me to take actions that are consistent with the Father’s will; actions that guarantee evident, and unstoppable progress, increase and blessings for me. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

MEMORISE:

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
Isaiah 60:1

READ: Isaiah 60:1-5

1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.

3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.

4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

MESSAGE:

The memory verse for today enjoins us to arise and shine because our light has come. What or who is this light? Here is the answer:

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
John 8:12

Jesus is the light that brings the glory of the Lord to every situation. The moment the glory departed from Adam and Eve, they realised that they were naked. Adam said: “…I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.” (Genesis 3:10). However, when God decided to rescue man from this shameful state, He sent His Son - the Light, to the world.

In our Bible reading of today, we are commanded to arise and at the same time, shine. Why? It is because God made up His mind to lighten the world that had been covered by darkness. It is also because the glory of the Lord has come upon the world. What or who is this glory of the Lord? Jesus Christ the Son of God is the glory of the Lord. I don’t know how deep you may have into darkness through sinful habits and associations; however, I have good news for you: your light has come! All you have to do is partake of this light is to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour. Matthew 11:28 says “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” In Revelation 3:20, the Bible says “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

You can rest assured that if you let the Light in, your life, which may have been plagued with all that darkness represents, shall be lightened up. Darkness is represented by sin, sickness, poverty, sorrow, failure and bondage, whereas light represents righteousness, divine health, prosperity, joy breakthrough and freedom.

Many of us can testify that there is darkness in this world. The darkness we are talking about is not the absence of electricity, but rather, spiritual darkness, according to Ephesians 6:12.

Are you still in darkness? If the answer is yes, why hasn’t your own light come?

It may be that you have not embraced the Light. Accept Jesus the Light into your life today and darkness will no longer be able to comprehend or overcome you, according to John 1:5.

PRAYER POINT:

Father, let the light of Your Son Jesus Christ shine upon me today. Let Your glory be greatly evident in my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.

TOPIC:  INTEREST: A DOORWAY TO INSIGHT.

SCRIPTURE: The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple. Psalm 119:130.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: One reason for lack of insight in God’s Word is lack of interest, especially in studying the Scripture. 

Our anchor Scripture reveals that the entrance of God’s Word gives light and understanding to the simple. This means, it is not the Word of God that you read or hear that brings results but the Word that enters into you.

Now, what do we do for the Word of God to enter into us? How do we access the Word? And why is this important?

Interest brings insight 

Hosea 6:1-3 says,

Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

This means, we shall know if we are interested in knowing. Where there is no interest, there can be no insight.  

One reason for lack of insight in God’s Word is lack of interest, especially in studying the Scriptures.

People are interested in many things. Some are interested in what to eat, drink, drive and wear. Having interest in these things is not bad. But when your interest in what to drink, eat, wear or drive is more than your interest in God and His Word, you will not necessarily receive insight from the Scriptures. 

Beloved, to see insight from God’s Word, ensure that you are interested in God’s Word.

Remember this: One reason for lack of insight in God’s Word is lack of interest, especially in studying the Scriptures.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Ask God to rekindle your interest in His Word.

2. Discipline yourself to study God’s Word diligently.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You rekindle my interest in Your Word. I receive the grace and discipline to be diligent in studying Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
