Daily Devotional for Friday 9th July
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES,

FRIDAY 9TH JULY 2021.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: BE UNAPOLOGETIC ABOUT THE GOSPEL
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord... (Philippians 3:8).

When I analyze some of the things going on in the world today, I remember the commitment of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. They said to the king, “We will not bow to your image of gold.” And the king got angry and threatened to throw them into a burning fiery furnace. But they responded boldly, “Our God is able to deliver us from your fire; but if He doesn’t, we still won’t bow” (Read Daniel 3).

They weren’t refusing to bow to the king’s image because they expected that God would deliver them. It didn’t matter to them whether or not they’d be delivered from the fire. They were standing their ground because of their commitment to the Lord, recognizing that He’s the only true God. Thus, in spite of the intimidation, they wouldn’t budge! What a conviction!

It was a similar case with Daniel. There had been a decree against prayer to any God but the king for thirty days. But Daniel continued in prayer; the Bible says when he found out a decree had been passed to outlaw prayer, he prayed again as he always did, knowing that the supervisors were watching (Daniel 6:6-10).

For refusing to yield to the obnoxious decree by the King, Daniel was thrown into the Lion’s den. There’s no record that Daniel prayed to be delivered from the lion’s den; he was rather ready to be eaten up by lions than deny his faith in God. These are set for us as examples. Our situation today isn’t any different. When it comes to what God has said versus what anyone else is saying, it’s not a difficult choice; there’s just one way we go—Jesus only! We serve the Lord Christ. When it comes to the call of the Gospel, live or die, we’re the Lord’s! Hallelujah!

Never find yourself apologetic, intimidated or reluctant to express your convictions about Christ and the message of the Gospel. We’ve got to be ready. We’re from a lineage of those who gave everything and requested no deliverance; they wanted a better resurrection, a victorious one. Come what may, be undaunted; be bold about your faith in Jesus Christ. Be convinced and compelled by the truth of the Gospel and preach it boldly.

CONFESSION

I’m convinced and compelled by the truth of the Gospel; and I refuse to be afraid of persecution for proclaiming Christ Jesus. Nothing in this world can daunt my love for Christ and passion for the Gospel. I preach it boldly everywhere, and He’s with me and in me, confirming His Word, with signs following. Praise God!

FURTHER STUDY:

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Acts 20:22-24 AMPC And now, you see, I am going to Jerusalem, bound by the [Holy] Spirit and obligated and compelled by the [convictions of my own] spirit, not knowing what will befall me there—Except that the Holy Spirit clearly and emphatically affirms to me in city after city that imprisonment and suffering await me. But none of these things move me; neither do I esteem my life dear to myself, if only I may finish my course with joy and the ministry which I have obtained from [which was entrusted to me by] the Lord Jesus, faithfully to attest to the good news (Gospel) of God’s grace (His unmerited favor, spiritual blessing, and mercy).

DAILY SCRIPTURE READING

1-Year Bible Reading Plan: Acts 20:1-16 & Job 19-21

2-Year Bible Reading Plan: Luke 7:36-50 & Joshua 5

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN

I affirm that I am the workmanship of God in Christ Jesus. God’s Word guides my thoughts, habits, character, and ultimately builds my life. I have the dominion over every kind of sin.

I live in truth because truth is my true nature. I am alive unto God! My mouth is filled with laughter because the Lord has made my life a bundle of joy and happiness. I am filled with the fullness of God and out of my belly flow rivers of living water. Hallelujah!

The Word of God has pre-eminence in my life, and it continually produces in me what it talks about. In every area of my life, I experience the reality of the Word as I meditate on, and live in, the Word!

I make progress, and circumstances are subdued to conform to the reality of God’s Word for my good. I am an offspring of the Word; I’m immune to the destructive system of this world.

I have no fear in me; for the peace of God garrisons my heart and mind in Christ. Hallelujah! I’ve been enthroned; therefore, I go forth in God’s glory, in righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

There’s no place for depression, weakness, and sadness in my life. I am the seed of Abraham, and God’s blessings rest on me! I am like a tree by the stream, well-watered and ever-flourishing, bearing fruits of righteousness and experiencing luxuriant growth in all I do. Glory to God. Hallelujah!

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: FRIDAY 9TH JULY 2021

THEME: A TIMELY OFFERING?

MEMORISE:

And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me. Genesis 27:20

READ: Genesis 27:20-33

20 And Isaac said unto his son, How is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son? And he said, Because the LORD thy God brought it to me.
21 And Isaac said unto Jacob, Come near, I pray thee, that I may feel thee, my son, whether thou be my very son Esau or not.
22 And Jacob went near unto Isaac his father; and he felt him, and said, The voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
23 And he discerned him not, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau's hands: so he blessed him.
24 And he said, Art thou my very son Esau? And he said, I am.
25 And he said, Bring it near to me, and I will eat of my son's venison, that my soul may bless thee. And he brought it near to him, and he did eat: and he brought him wine and he drank.
26 And his father Isaac said unto him, Come near now, and kiss me, my son.
27 And he came near, and kissed him: and he smelled the smell of his raiment, and blessed him, and said, See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which the LORD hath blessed:
28 Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine:
29 Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
30 And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.
31 And he also had made savoury meat, and brought it unto his father, and said unto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his son's venison, that thy soul may bless me.
32 And Isaac his father said unto him, Who art thou? And he said, I am thy son, thy firstborn Esau.
33 And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed.

MESSAGE:
When Isaac asked Esau to prepare a delicious meal of venison (deer or antelope meat) for him to eat so that he could pray for him, Rebekah took advantage of the short distance between Jacob’s tent and his flock, ensuring that the dish was prepared and the blessing stolen before Esau returned. The quick response worked to the advantage of Rebekah and Jacob.

I shared a need of the Church with one of my sons and instead of promptly meeting it because of its urgency, he said he would go and pray about it. The following week when he came, ready to meet the need, God had already raised somebody else to resolve the issue. He felt bad about it. What a lesson.

Some people criticized the woman at Bethany for ‘wasting’ the ointment instead of selling it to provide for the poor. Jesus rebuked them, saying:
“She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.” Mark 14:8

By the time this same woman, along with another and Jesus’ mother came to anoint the body of the Lord after His death, it was a belated gesture; Jesus had risen! Thankfully, Mary Magdalene had given her sacrifice before it was too late.

We must always be ready to do good according to Galatians 6:10:
“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”

May the Lord grant you the grace and wisdom to offer your gifts at a time acceptable unto Him, in the mighty name of Jesus. May your gift or sacrifice to God never be considered late by Him. May the Lord never have cause to raise someone else in your stead, in the mighty name of Jesus.

ACTION POINT:
Identify areas of need in the Church and your neighborhood. Decide to meet as many of such needs as you can, before it is too late.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Psalm 57-59.

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 15:   MUST I GO AND EMPTY HANDED.

1. “Must I go, and empty-handed,”
Thus my dear Redeemer meet?
Not one day of service give Him,
Lay no trophy at His feet?

o Refrain:
“Must I go, and empty-handed?”
Must I meet my Savior so?
Not one soul with which to greet Him,
Must I empty-handed go?

2. Not at death I shrink or falter,
For my Savior saves me now;
But to meet Him empty-handed,
Thought of that now clouds my brow.

3. Oh, the years in sinning wasted,
Could I but recall them now,
I would give them to my Savior,
To His will I’d gladly bow.

4. Oh, ye saints, arouse, be earnest,
Up and work while yet ’tis day;
Ere the night of death o’ertake thee,
Strive for souls while still you may.

SEEDS ?????OF DESTINY DAILY

DEVOTIONAL BY DR PASTOR PAUL ENENCHE

FRIDAY 09 JULY, 2021

TOPIC: MASTERY OVER MONEY

SCRIPTURE: The love of money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We can serve God with money but we cannot serve God and money.

We live in a generation that is under the grip of the love of money. It is a generation that is wallowing in the grip of mammon.

Now, it is very important to know that apart from the trap of immorality, another dangerous enemy trap in life is the trap of the love of money. It is in money matters that satan traps the lives of people and leads them to the horrors of eternal hellfire.

It is also important to note that one of the things in this world that struggles for worship, the same way that God should be worshipped, is money. Money struggles to be served the way God should be served (Luke 16:13).

Money is a force that seeks to control lives and destinies. Please, understand that the love of money is connected to evil.

For example: a person who was not used to telling lies before can suddenly become a liar because of money. Some people can do anything for the sake of money – they can even go to the extent of killing others or doing all manner of things because of money.

1 Timothy 6:10 says,

The love of money is the root of all evil which while some coveted after they have erred from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Please understand that we can serve God with money but we cannot serve God and money. We can use our money to worship God but we cannot worship God and money at the same time.

My counsel is, refuse to allow money change your behaviour. Determine to develop mastery over money and don’t be mastered by money.

Remember this: We can serve God with money but we cannot serve God and money.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to control money instead of being controlled by money. Avoid the worship of money.

2. Make God, not money, the Master of your life and destiny.

3. Don’t allow money change your behaviour.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You deliver me from the love and grip of mammon. I receive the grace to master money, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: THE TRAGEDY OF EVIL MONEY

QUOTE: If those who manufacture cigarette, alcohol and produce pornographic materials, have enough money to publicize their products, how much more the Gospel! Culled from “21 UNCOMMON KEYS TO FINANCIAL OVERFLOW” by Dr Paul Enenche.

DAILY READING: Ecclesiastes 3-5

REFLECTION: What is your relationship with money? How much control does money have over your life? What can you do because of money? It affects your spirituality and eternity.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD: Every grip of mammon is broken off your life in Jesus’ Name. Receive the grace to freely serve the LORD in Jesus’ Name.
Good morning ??
