SUNDAY 2ND MAY.



KEEP GROWING IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF CHRIST


But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen (2 Peter 3:18).


In 1 Peter 2:2, Peter writes to Jewish Christian pilgrims in certain cities, and he says to them, “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.” The word “babes” there is “brephos” (Greek) and it refers to infants, children. Peter was writing to infant churches and young Christians; they had recently given their hearts to Christ.


But then there’s another group of Christians described in 1 Corinthians 3. The Apostle Paul called them “babes in Christ.” He said, “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ” (1 Corinthians 3:1).


The word “babes” in this case is the Greek “nēpios.” It means one who can’t talk right. He may be twenty years old, but he’s not able to communicate correctly. He’s unskilled, untrained, not mentally coordinated, in spite of his age. 

So, when it’s applied spiritually, it’s dealing with somebody who is a spiritual babe, one that’s not cultured, even though he’s been a Christian for many years. Such people can neither grasp spiritual communication nor communicate spiritual truths. Paul berated them, saying, “I have fed you with milk, and not with meat...” (1 Corinthians 3:2). “Milk” refers to the elementary principles of the Word of God, the elementary doctrines of Christ.


One who’s a spiritual babe will pray and cry to God to bless him. If he were spiritually mature, he’d have known that God already blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 1:3). He hasn’t grown to understand the mystery of Christ, that the day he was born into Christ, he became an heir of all the blessings of God in Christ Jesus.


Grow in the things of God. Press on for more knowledge, for more understanding. Keep learning the Word, with an unquenchable desire to know the Lord more and have His glory revealed in your life.



CONFESSION

Our God is great, and greatly to be praised. There’s no end to the awesomeness of His Majesty. As I keep learning His Word, His glory is revealed in my life; I’m constantly transfigured and renewed more and more in knowledge into His image. Blessed be God!

I am seated together with Him in the place of power; far above all principalities, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come.


I live in the Name of Jesus; I live in dominion over sin, sickness and infirmities, and every opposing force, accusation or hindrance. Hallelujah! I am in God’s place for me; therefore, I am enjoying life to full! Daily, I walk in the light of my prosperity, being the seed of Abraham. 


I have access to wealth untold because I am plugged into God’s unending supply. Hallelujah! The knowledge of God’s Word is growing mightily and prevailing in me; 


I am making progress by the Word and heaping up success upon success. Everywhere I go, I carry the atmosphere of prosperity, joy, and increase, and Christ is exalted and glorified in me today. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!

1 The hand of the LORD was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,

2 And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.

3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

4 Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.

5 Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

6 And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

7 So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

8 And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.

9 Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.

10 So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
  
MESSAGE: 

Our God does not only create, He can also restore as we see in today’s Scripture reading. You will experience this kind of restoration today in Jesus’ name. The story is the restoration of dry bones. Ezekiel was taken to the valley of dry bones by the Spirit of God. Dry bones, of course, signify a state hopelessness and lifelessness. When he got there, the Almighty God had a dialogue with him. Is it not amazing that whenever God wants to perform wonders, He dialogues? He did the same when He fed the five thousand in Mark 6:30-43. The fact that God dialogues with His children does not mean He does not know what to do at any given time; rather it means that He likes to fellowship with His children. God dialogued with Ezekiel and the wonder working process began.
 
The first lesson in this story is that whenever the Spirit of God is upon an individual, the fellow would be able to do the impossible. Ezekiel was not even sure if the dry bones could live or not. He was just a prophet. The second lesson is that we must always acknowledge the sovereignty of God in all matters, no matter how pressing or ridiculous the case at hand may be. Ezekiel said only God knew if the bones could live again. He acknowledged God's power. 1Corinthians 1:25,27 says:
"Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men... But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;”

Whenever we acknowledge God's sovereignty, there will be a mighty manifestation of wonders. Ezekiel responded positively to the instructions God gave him concerning the dry bones, he prophesied, and the result was a mighty army. Beloved, without the Holy Spirit we can do nothing; however, with Him all things are possible.
 
Whenever the Spirit of God is, there is liberty, miracles, sign, and wonders. These good things will be your portion this season, in the mighty name of Jesus.
  
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please speak to my situation today. Restore unto me everything the enemies have destroyed In my life, in the mighty name of Jesus.

 *TOPIC: THE POWER OF SOUND* 

?️What you hear transmits the spirit in the sound into your life because every sound has a spirit.

 *SCRIPTURE* ?: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.

 *THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* ?: What you hear transmits the spirit in the sound into your life because every sound has a spirit. 

Sound has been confirmed to carry a dimension of power. There is power in sound, and this power has implications for your faith. The right sound has the power to keep your faith alive. 

 *Now, what is the power of sound?* 

 *i. What you hear determines what you can believe; it also determines what you fear* . 

Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Romans 10:17). 

Fear also cometh by hearing. 

Deuteronomy 17:13 says, And all the people shall hear, and fear, and do no more presumptuously.

Can you see? All Israel shall hear and fear. 

Please understand this: What you hear can either build your faith or groom you fear. 

 *ii. What you hear transmits the spirit in the sound into your life* . 

What you hear transmits the spirit in the sound into your life because every sound has a spirit. 

John 6:63 says, 

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

What you hear transmits into your life the spirit in the sound. If the Spirit of God is in a sound, then the same spirit is transmitted via the sound. And the Spirit of God is the Spirit of faith. But if the spirit of the devil is in that sound, the spirit of the devil is transmitted, and the spirit of the devil transmits fear.  

It is important to know that every kind of music carries a spirit. There are some kinds of music that usher people into immorality while others make people kill.

Beloved, beware of the music you hear. Avoid listening to or paying attention to unhealthy sound so you can keep your faith alive.
