Baba Ijesha rape saga: 'Davido was accused of murder and I never attacked him for it. Toke Makinwa should rearrange her background' - Actor Yomi Fabiyi fires back (video)

Actor Yomi Fabiyi has fired back at singer Davido and media personality Toke Makinwa, after they called him out over his comment on actor Baba Ijesha's rape saga involving a minor.
Recall that while Davido called Fabiyi a "bitch", Toke Makinwa described him as a "disgrace" for asking for the CCTV footage of the minor being reportedly molested by the actor to be released even after it was said that Baba Ijesha confessed to the crime.
Firing back at Toke Makinwa, Yomi Fabiyi accused her of assuming a 'god figure' and using social media clout to attack his integrity as a figure in the entertainment industry. The actor who stated that he may not cross paths with Toke Makinwa till he passes out, asked her to rearrange her background and ensure that she finds out the truth.
Also taking a swipe at Davido, Fabiyi stated that he never attacked Davido even after he was accused of murder which he said is the "greatest of all crimes". He averred that if the superstar singer is now attacking him over his stance on the rape saga, it means he has some relevance.

Fabiyi who alleged that Baba Ijesha denied raping the minor, said he was thinking there’s a CCTV of the actor having sex with the girl. He also claimed that the police officer told him that the actor was caught with the girl in the living room after which he apologized when asked what he was doing with her.
According to him, the police officer also said that if that amounts to rape he doesn't know.
Recounting how actor Baba Suwe was exonerated after being accused of trafficking drugs, the actor stated that all he did was tell people to calm down and allow the law to take its due course. He concluded by saying that what he received was condemnation instead.

He also shared an article from one Oriyom Hamzat, questioning why there was no blood gushing out from the victim when she was allegedly raped by the actor seven years ago.

Rape allegation is a very serious offence, both for the complainant and the alleged. If rape was found to have taken place, the alleged could be facing a long sentence, if otherwise, the complainant too could face severe punishment. One good thing about the internet is that there are people who know how to talk, and there are people who know how to understand. Having seen series of videos posted online relating to the case of Lanre Omiyinka, i have come to see a few holes in the stories being bandied online.

1. From what was said by the complainant, and, in the way i understand it, a 7 year old girl was raped in her house 7 years ago. She said she left the little girl with the accused for 'only 3 minutes', ONLY THREE MINUTES! The little girl was raped within that 3 minutes - that's my number one observation

2. Assuming a 7 year old girl was raped by a 48 year old man, rape means forceful coitus, which means there was penetration. For a 7 year old, there will be blood. So if you are the mother of a girl that has just been raped, and she isn't crying or walking with a stagger and there is no blood dripping from her, something is wrong. Apart from this, the act was performed inside your house, was there no drop of blood lying around, what about the girl's pant or dress, no blood?. How could you not know? Who washed the girl's panties or clothes, did nobody noticed any blood? The answer to this is that its either their was no rape or it was covered up.

3. The complainant said she asked the 7 year old girl if there is any problem at that time but the girl didn't disclose that she was raped, but the complainant said she noticed that the little girl was failing at school, that was how she figured she had been raped.

There is no proven correlation between grades in school and rape. Failing in the classroom is an index of the home environment and a measure of APTITUDE. The fact that the little girl could not TRUST you enough to tell you she had been raped, speak volumes of the bonding between you and the girl.

4. 7 years later, the girl now disclosed that she was raped. TO BE CONTD.''

Directorate of Public Prosecutions recommends that Baba Ijesha be hit with 5 charges, including defilement of a child and attempted sexual assault by penetration

The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has recommended that actor, Olanrewaju James, better known as Baba Ijesha, should be charged under 5 provisions of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State.
A press statement released by the police said the case file for Baba Ijesha was forwarded to the DPP for legal advice.
The statement read, “It would be recalled that the Nigeria Police Force arrested Mr. Olanrewaju James (also referred to as Baba Ijesha) on account of various sexual abuse allegations. On the 30th of April, 2021, the Police forwarded the case file of COP v Olanrewaju James to the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advise.
“After due consideration of the facts in the case file, the Directorate of Public Prosecutions issued legal advise on the 4th of May, 2021, which is to the effect that a prima facie case has been disclosed against Mr. Olanrewaju James and recommended he be charged under the following provisions of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015:
1. Section 135 - Indecent treatment of a child - punishable by 7 years imprisonment
2. Section 137 - Defilement of a child - punishable by life imprisonment
3. Section 261 - Sexual Assault by Penetration - punishable by life imprisonment
4. Section 262 - Attempted Sexual Assault by Penetration - punishable by 14 years imprisonment and
5. Section 263 - Sexual assault - punishable by 3 years imprisonment.
“Whilst the State would ensure that Mr. Olanrewaju James’s rights as enshrined in the Constitution are upheld, the Ministry of Justice would not relent in its efforts in ensuring that whoever sexually abuses any resident of Lagos State is speedily brought to book. It is instructive to note that the Lagos State Ministry of Justice has been consistent in it’s efforts in protecting the vulnerable in our society and since the establishment of the Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team in 2014, it has till date prosecuted over 800 cases of Sexual and Domestic offenses.
“The Attorney-General hereby assures Lagosians and indeed Nigerians that in accordance with the DPP’s advise, charges would be filed accordingly.”
The Ministry of Justice pledged that it "would not relent in its efforts in ensuring that whoever sexually abuses any resident of Lagos State is speedily brought to book."
The Attorney-General also assured Nigerians that "charges would be filed accordingly" as advised by the DPP.
