Daily Devotional for Monday 8th March
#1
RHAPSODY OF REALITIES,

 MONDAY 8TH MARCH 2021.

 Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: CONSCIOUSLY PRACTISE THE WORD

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed (James 1:25).

Consciously practising the Word is how you can enjoy its full blessings in your life, because the power of God is in His Word. For example, the Word says, “...Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). Consciously practise this; let it be your daily walk.

When you start out practising something, you may miss it, but don’t give up and say, “Well, I tried.” Keep at it until you gain mastery. Again, the Word says, “...take no thought for your life...” (Luke 12:22); in other words, have no cares. Practise it. Don’t find yourself worrying over the mundane things of life, with fear of lack; rather, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

Psalm 1:3 reveals something phenomenal about the extraordinary life of blessings you have in Christ. It says you’re like a tree planted by the rivers of water—ever luscious and green—fruitful and eternally productive. Affirm this every day about yourself. Irrespective, and independent of the happenings in the world, be unmoved, because you know you’re empowered to prosper. For you, it’s blessings only. Hallelujah!

We’re Word-practitioners; Jesus Christ is the Living Word, and we’re born after Him. Paul said, “Ye are the Epistles of Christ” (2 Corinthians 3:3). That means we’re the expression of the Word. The Apostle Peter referenced a similar thought in 1 Peter 1:23, saying, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.”
Being born of the Word means you must live in, by and through the Word; you must live it out in your daily walk.

CONFESSION

Righteous Father, how I love your Word; your truth is the light by which I see, and the foundation on which my strength is anchored. I’m blossoming in righteousness, flourishing in glory, producing lasting results and making an undeniable impact with the Gospel, to the praise of your Name.
Hallelujah!

FURTHER STUDY

James 1:22-25
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

DAILY SCRIPTURE READING:

1 YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Mark 13:1-37 & Numbers 22-23

2 YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Matthew 21:12-17 & Exodus 17

#TALKINGSESSION

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for the presence of Your Spirit in my life, which has ushered me into a life of unending blessings.

Thank You for Your Word, which causes Your glory to shine forth with much intensity in my life and in all that I’m connected with. As I meditate on the Word of faith, I experience victory, divine health, and blessings! I

am not ordinary; my life is an expression of Your supernatural grace, glory, perfection, beauty, and righteousness. I’m continually metamorphosed from glory to glory. I have and enjoy life to the full.

No matter the difficulties and trials that come my way, they’re for my promotion and growth in life, from glory to glory. When men are cast down, I’m lifted, because I fly on eagle’s wings. I am grateful for the triumphant life I have in Christ. Hallelujah!

Thank You, for You’re the One who’s active, alive, and working in and through me, both to will and to fulfil Your good pleasure.

I am strengthened by the Word and Your Spirit, to express Your goodness and love to my world today; I live to fulfil Your purpose and help others do the same, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: MONDAY 8TH MARCH 2021

THEME:   LEARN FROM NABAL

MEMORISE:

Submitting yourselves one to another iri the fear of God.                                 Ephesians 5:21

READ:  1 Samuel 25:4-20

4 And David heard in the wilderness that Nabal did shear his sheep.

5 And David sent out ten young men, and David said unto the young men, Get you up to Carmel, and go to Nabal, and greet him in my name:

6 And thus shall ye say to him that liveth in prosperity, Peace be both to thee, and peace be to thine house, and peace be unto all that thou hast.

7 And now I have heard that thou hast shearers: now thy shepherds which were with us, we hurt them not, neither was there ought missing unto them, all the while they were in Carmel.

8 Ask thy young men, and they will shew thee. Wherefore let the young men find favour in thine eyes: for we come in a good day: give, I pray thee, whatsoever cometh to thine hand unto thy servants, and to thy son David.

9 And when David's young men came, they spake to Nabal according to all those words in the name of David, and ceased.

10 And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master.

11 Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be?

12 So David's young men turned their way, and went again, and came and told him all those sayings.

13 And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.

14 But one of the young men told Abigail, Nabal's wife, saying, Behold, David sent messengers out of the wilderness to salute our master; and he railed on them.

15 But the men were very good unto us, and we were not hurt, neither missed we any thing, as long as we were conversant with them, when we were in the fields:

16 They were a wall unto us both by night and day, all the while we were with them keeping the sheep.

17 Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak to him.

18 Then Abigail made haste, and took two hundred loaves, and two bottles of wine, and five sheep ready dressed, and five measures of parched corn, and an hundred clusters of raisins, and two hundred cakes of figs, and laid them on asses.

19 And she said unto her servants, Go on before me; behold, I come after you. But she told not her husband Nabal.

20 And it was so, as she rode on the ass, that she came down by the covert on the hill, and, behold, David and his men came down against her; and she met them.

MESSAGE:

The meaning of the name Nabal is fool and he did many foolish things, as recorded in the Bible. We will however only focus on those foolish acts pertaining to his marriage.

Nabal always did things without carrying his wife along. A good husband will always be open with his wife. She should know what he is up to all the time. A man should never leave his wife in the dark.

In our Bible reading for today, Nabal got a request from David for food supplies and did not tell his wife who ordinarily should have been in charge of that. Even after he had responded, it was his servant who went to tell his wife Abigail. He clearly didn't involve her in his affairs. Husband, ask your wife for advice every now and then. When she gives you advice, at least consider it. Indeed, if you always consider her advice, you will definitely adopt it from time to time. Even Nabal's servant attested to the fact that Nabal never listened to advice.

“Now therefore know and consider what thou wilt do; for evil is determined against our master, and against all his household: for he is such a son of Belial, that a man cannot speak  to him."                                     1 Samuel 25:17

Put your wife in charge of things or tasks she is particularly skilled or gifted in and don't interfere except with her permission, after all, she is better at that thing than you are.

If Nabal had put food affairs in the hands of his wife, when David sent him a message, he would have just referred the messenger to his wife, and she would have handled it well. At the end of the day, Nabal would have gotten the praise. When people are saying "Thank you" to me for the hospitality they receive at our programmes, many of them don't know that I had no hand in it at all, it was all my wife. Even up to the feeding of the entire crowd at the Convention, it  is her area of strength; why should I bother myself with it when I should be focusing on my own areas of strength?

Husband, don't be like Nabal. Listen to your wife's advice, put her in charge of certain things for which she is better skilled than you.

Wife, support your husband; pray for him, give him godly counsel, encourage him. A husband and his wife are a team; neither should ever work alone.

ACTION POINT:

Husband, apologize to your wife if you have not been listening to her advice and promise her that you will change henceforth. Wife, ensure you give your husband godly counsel.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Exodus 23-25

*Seeds???️? Of Destiny*

 _By DIGC  08 March 2021_

_Daily Devotional by Dr_ _Pastor Paul Enenche_

*TOPIC: TRUST – A FACILITATOR OF OPPORTUNITY*

?️Character establishes trust, and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.

*SCRIPTURE* ?: And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured. Genesis 39:6.

*THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* ?: Character establishes trust, and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.

Trust is a major facilitator of opportunities in life and destiny. This is because to be trusted is to be entrusted. To be trusted is also to be engaged.

Now, trust is a reflection of positive character. That is to say, character establishes trust. Character enhances trust. Character provides the platform to be trusted.

People will trust you if you can keep your tongue from running loose. People will trust you if you are empty of self, that is, humble. People will trust you if money is safe in your hands. People will trust you if you don’t have a bad name or reputation. And trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.

The Bible makes it clear that Potiphar, who was an officer of Pharaoh, a captain of the guard, brought Joseph to Egypt and put everything under his care (Genesis 39:1, 6).

One day, Potiphar’s wife tried to seduce Joseph but he ran and left his clothes in her hands. With Joseph’s clothes in her hands as evidence, she told her husband that Joseph attempted sleeping with her. The evidence was true but the story was false.

Beloved, how do you defend yourself in such a situation? And because the man could not act otherwise, he put Joseph in prison (Gen. 39:20).

But in Genesis 40:1-4, we understand that Potiphar, the man whose wife lied against Joseph, was the same person who put two VIP prisoners under Joseph’s care in prison.

The question is: why did he do that? In earnest, he seemed to have told Joseph, “There is nobody I trust here except you. Joseph, I know that my wife lied against you. I don’t have anything against you. I trusted you enough to put everything under your care and I still trust you, even now.”

Beloved, character indeed establishes trust, and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.

*Remember this* ?: character establishes trust, and trust facilitates opportunity for destiny fulfilment.

 *ASSIGNMENTS* :

*1. Make up your mind to live a life worthy of trust* .

*2. Refuse to be engaged in any activity that will jeopardize people’s trust on you.*

*PRAYER* ??: I receive the grace Lord, to live a life that can be trusted. Help me to live a life of integrity and uprightness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

*FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: ??THE FORCES OF DESTINY (PART 2).*

*QUOTE* : If you are going to reign in this life as a king, one of the major ways you will do that is by the power of character and integrity. Culled from “WHO ARE YOU?” by Dr Paul Enenche.

 *DAILY READING: 1 Kings 2-4*

*AMAZING FACT* ?: Honeybees don’t sleep. Instead, they spend their night motionless, conserving energy for the next day’s activities.

*PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD* ??️: Grace to uphold positive character and trustability is released for you in Jesus’ Name.

 *Good Morning ??*
