TOPIC: BE VIGILANT IN THE SPIRIT


They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon (NEHEMIAH 4:17)

Nehemiah was faced with an intense opposition when he decided to build the wall of Jerusalem. The Jews’ enemies were determined to stop the building by slaying the builders. But Nehemiah wasn’t ignorant of their evil plans and intentions.


As he led God’s people to build the wall, they prepared to ward off any form of attack. Each one held a weapon with the other hand, taking every necessary precaution against any onslaught from the enemy. This was written for our learning.


We’re partners and co-labourers with the Lord in building His Church—His body—winning souls and carrying out the work of the ministry. While at it, we must be ready to fight against the decrees of darkness to force us to live in a world, an atmosphere or governmental system that’s hostile to the Gospel.


Satan, knowing that his time is short, is trying to move ahead to create the environment of the anti Christ before his time. So, we must be on the alert and on the offensive. 1 Peter 5:8 says, “Be sober, be vigilant….” Be vigilant in the spirit, listening in, and with, your spirit as you speak in tongues and meditate on the Scriptures. 


The Lord will give you strategies and guidance on how to effectively dismantle the structures of the adversary.


Refuse to be moved by some of the happenings in the world today—the confusion, fear and deception. By the power of God’s Spirit, we (the Church) are exercising our authority in Christ, bringing in the new order of things. Get vitally involved in this. Pray like you’ve never done! When we call for days of global prayer and fasting, be a part of it. We’re setting in place a new world order in the Spirit, where the Gospel has free course, and in preparation for our soon coming Lord. Amen.


CONFESSION

I’m strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. He opens my eyes to spiritual realities and unveils His thoughts to my spirit. And today, I take charge of situations from the realm of the Spirit. I pray against any attempt of the devil to force the Church of Jesus Christ to live in a world of the beast before his time. Until the rapture of the Church, the Name of Jesus Christ shall be glorified in all nations. Amen.

Dear heavenly Father, I thank You for the working of Your Word in my life. My growth in life is evident and consistent, because I am connected to my source—the Word. 


I thank You for Your light that’s in my spirit, and the ability to receive direction, inspiration, counsel and wisdom from Your Word and the Holy Spirit. 


My spirit is constantly refreshed and educated by Your Word to produce excellence, and manifest righteousness. 


The Word of God is my life and sustenance and has made me fruitful in every good work. I live in divine health, supernatural abundance, and in continual victory and prosperity.


The light of God’s Word illuminates my path, and all things are working together for my good. Thank You for giving me life and immortality, making me a partaker of Your divine nature.


 I declare that by the power of the Holy Spirit working in me, I am effective in the divine experience and bearing fruits in every good work, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in? 2 Samuel 7:5    
 
READ:  2 Samuel 7:1-17
 
And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the Lord had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

2 That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the Lord is with thee.

4 And it came to pass that night, that the word of the Lord came unto Nathan, saying,

5 Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the Lord, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?

6 Whereas I have not dwelt in any house since the time that I brought up the children of Israel out of Egypt, even to this day, but have walked in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7 In all the places wherein I have walked with all the children of Israel spake I a word with any of the tribes of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, Why build ye not me an house of cedar?

8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people, over Israel:

9 And I was with thee whithersoever thou wentest, and have cut off all thine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great men that are in the earth.

10 Moreover I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more; neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them any more, as beforetime,

11 And as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel, and have caused thee to rest from all thine enemies. Also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee an house.

12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

14 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men:

15 But my mercy shall not depart away from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away before thee.

16 And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

17 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
 
MESSAGE:
 
Many times, I listen to people preach and I notice certain things they say that are not correct. This makes it pertinent for me to share with you that the vessel bringing the message is very important. This is not necessarily because the fellow preaching is a sinner, but rather that sometimes, preachers say things based on their emotions. Pastors are human too, you know. For example, In our Bible reading for today, David told Nathan that he wanted to build a house for God and Nathan said God was with him.
 
And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in thine heart; for the LORD is with thee. 2 Samuel 7:3
 
Nathan was excited at the thought of a temple for his God. He also assumed that God would be excited about the idea· too, so to him, God was definitely in support of David. Later on, God told him, "Nathan, I am not in support of David's idea to build a house for Me as you told him". Thank God that Nathan was humble enough to go back to tell David that he was wrong, and then he relayed the real message from God to him.
 
Dear child of God, please always ensure that you are relaying the correct message from God to the people, and not just what you feel is correct. Also, because you are human, if it so happens that you say something that is not correct and God corrects you later, please don't hesitate to tell the people the correct thing.
 
Some other times, the message is coming from God but may be polluted by the human nature or spirit. No matter how pure the water may be, the vessel has something with the final product. This is why we children of God must ensure that we are led by the Holy Spirit at all times. No passing of a message in the flesh is allowed a tall. No matter our opinion on an issue, If God gives you a related message, deliver it exactly as relayed by God.
 
Don’t let your emotions, whether anger or excitement influence how you pass on a message from God. Being used by God is a privilege that should never be taken with levity.
 
If you are not yet being used by God, however, ask yourself if you have yielded completely to Him. Purify yourself with the blood of Jesus and you will become fit for the Master's use.

Action Point :  

Please pray for me as I marked another birthday anniversary today, that the Lord will do greater things than ever before through me, for his Glory in the mighty Name of Jesus.

 *TOPIC: RELATIONSHIP AFFECTS DESTINY* 

 
?️Relationships can either bring you acceleration or establish your stagnation.

 *SCRIPTURE* : Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Relationships can either bring you acceleration or establish your stagnation.

It has been confirmed that the right relationship is key to destiny fulfilment. Your relationship can either make or mar your life and destiny.

Now, I will like you to take note of these three key thoughts on relationships:

i. Relationships can either bring you acceleration or establish your stagnation (Genesis 13:14) 

There are people who entered your life and your life shifted; and there are those who hung around you and you are stagnated. For example, until Lot left Abraham, Abraham’s destiny couldn’t open up (Gen. 13:14). That is why it is very important to observe and pray well before you marry someone or get into any relationship.

There are people whose best days in life were the days before their marriage. That will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.

ii. Relationship can contribute to your preservation or facilitate your destruction

The wrong relationship can kill a person physically. A person can die prematurely because of being found with the wrong people at the wrong place.  There are those who have died other people’s death, and others have lost properties because of wrong associations (Jonah 1:5). But that will never be your portion in Jesus’ Name. 

iii. Relationships can never leave you neutral 

Your relationship is either adding something to you or taking something from you. Your relationship will either sharpen your life (Proverbs 27:17) or leave you blunt. No one relates with you on a neutral ground; everyone either adds or takes something from you.

Beloved, make up your mind to engage wisdom in relationship if you want to reach your future. 

Remember this: Relationships can either bring you acceleration or establish your stagnation.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Give attention to your relationships in order to have a buoyant destiny. Relate carefully. 

2. Make up your mind to engage in profitable relationships.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You give me quality and productive relationships that will facilitate my destiny fulfilment, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
