SATURDAY 23RD JANUARY.



THE CHURCH IS THE FULLNESS OF CHRIST


And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the pre-eminence (Colossians 1:18).


Did you know that Jesus isn’t complete without us? And by “us,” I mean the Church. We’re inseparably united with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17). Ephesians 1:22-23 says He “…put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.” He’s the one who fills everything (Ephesians 4:10), yet His fullness is the Church, which is His body.



This should help you understand your importance and relevance to Christ. You’re “in Him,” and He’s “in you.” Through you, He expresses His love to the world, and establishes His Kingdom in the earth. You’re His extension in the earth, because you hail from Him and are connected to Him. 


He said in John 15:5, “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” It’s the Father’s grand design for Him to need us just as we need Him: He’s our glory as we are His glory.


In John 17:19-21, Jesus prayed, “…that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.” This prayer of Jesus is fulfilled in us today; He’s made us one with divinity.


1 Corinthians 12:13 says, “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body….” Then, 1 Corinthians 6:17 declares, “…he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” We’re literally mingled with the Spirit as one divine creation: “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:13). Blessed be God!



CONFESSION

I belong in the family of Christ—the Church! And in Christ, I’m in health, wealth, splendour, prosperity and glory. The glory of God is seen and manifested through me to my world. My life is a continuous manifestation of Christ and the supernatural! Blessed be God!

I affirm that I’ve been chosen and ordained by God to be productive in all aspects of my life! I walk by faith, and not by sensory perception! I live from my spirit; therefore, the circumstances of life are subdued before me. 


I live on God’s terms; I reason with the mind of Christ, and my outlook on life is from the perspective of the Word! There’s now no condemnation for me because I walk not after the flesh but after the spirit. 


My spirit, soul, and body are under the dominion of the Word, and the influence of the Spirit! I have an unction from the Holy One! That anointing is working in my body, finances, family, and all that concerns me. It sets me apart for greatness, causing me to spread and make progress on every side, to the glory of the Father. Irrespective of daunting challenges, persecutions, hardships, and troubles, I remain steadfast, courageous, and bold in my commitment to the Gospel, and its spread around the world. 


The Spirit of God strengthens me in my inner man and my youth is renewed like the eagles. I refuse to get old in my mind; rather, I open my heart and mind to fresh ideas from God’s Spirit. Nothing can stop me, for I am daily vitalized and refreshed through the Word. 


When men are cast down, I am lifted, because of the lifting power of the Holy Spirit that’s at work in me! Nothing is impossible with me for I hail from above. All the forces of life and nature are at my disposal, they work together for my good because I am the King’s kid. 


I am conscious of my heavenly heritage and walk in the light of who I am; an associate of the God-kind! Glory to God.is renewed like the eagles. I refuse to get old in my mind; rather, I open my heart and mind to fresh ideas from God’s Spirit. Nothing can stop me, for I am daily vitalized and refreshed through the Word.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL.


DATE: SATURDAY 23RD JANUARY, 2021.

THEME: DON’T GIVE UP.

MEMORISE:
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.” Jeremiah 29:11

READ: Psalm 126:1-6 (KJV)

1. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.

 
2. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing; then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.

3. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.

4. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south.

5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.

6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

MESSAGE:
You may have tried many things, and none seems to be succeeding; I want to encourage you not to give up. Don’t forget your dreams. Don’t forget the prophecies that have come forth concerning your glorious destiny.

God has a special purpose for your life. It may not look like it now, but if you don’t give up, you will soon see it coming to pass in your life, in Jesus’ name.

I had an uncle who was very poor, so poor that he could not afford decent clothing. One day, he asked his wife to use her wrapper to sew buba and soro for him. He had made up his mind to commit suicide, but he wanted to do it in style. He wore the clothes his wife had made for him and went to Church. He sang and danced so well that everyone noticed him.

He wanted it to be that when they heard of his death, they would say “Oh, we didn’t know he was celebrating his departure”. 

However, God had other plans. The man of God came up and preached about Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. He said despite the fact that it looked like there was no hope for these three Hebrew children, God’s glory shone through their hopeless situation.

The message hit my uncle and he said “I don’t know how God will bring me out of this storm, but I refuse to die”. 

On saying that, the Prince of Peace spoke peace to his storm. The day he was sharing the testimony, he had just purchased fourteen cars for his company. Imagine if he had given up; he would have missed out on what God had in store for him.

God knows the way out of that situation you are going through. Hold on to Him and He will bring you out. He says to you in Isaiah 43:2: When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

I speak peace into whatever storm you are going through. I replace every source of shame in your life with glory now. Whatever the devil is using to steal your joy is turned around for your favour. 

No more depression in your life in the mighty name Jesus. Raise your head up high, God loves you and He will make all things beautiful in His time.

KEY POINT:
Don’t give up; God is going to bring glory out of that hopeless situation. Hold on to Him.

 *TOPIC: THREE LEVELS OF USEFUL INFORMATION* 
 
?️Knowing what you do and doing it excellently takes you to prominence in life.

 *SCRIPTURE* ?: And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. John 6:6

 *THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* ?: Knowing what you do and doing it excellently takes you to prominence in life.

It is an established fact that information is vital to destiny fulfilment. Revelation is key to a life of excellence, prominence and eminence.

 *Today, we shall be looking at three levels of information that are necessary for destiny fulfilment* :

 *1. Information in your area of assignment, calling or vocation (1 Samuel 15:17-18).* 

When King Saul looked for someone who could play the instrument well, David was found. This possibly means that David knew how to play the instrument more than everyone else in Israel, and that took him to the palace. Knowing what you do and doing it excellently takes you to prominence in life.

 *2. Information regarding the secrets of success and excellence (Job 29:4).* 

You need information on what makes people succeed in life. You need to know what it takes to stand out in life and what it takes to take a lead in life.

For example, apart from being a medical doctor, you must also learn leadership and human management, (which is not taught many times to medical students on campus) in order to operate and manage a hospital successfully.

Failure to get information regarding the secrets of success and excellence many times is the reason why you see people who are very intelligent professionals but are not good leaders.  

 *3. Information regarding the stories of those who excelled* . 

Those who succeed have success stories. The secrets of men are in their stories (Judges 7:17).

There are people who are already where you are struggling to reach. And it is very important to know how they got there.

 *Remember this* ?: Knowing what you do and doing it excellently takes you to prominence in life.

 *ASSIGNMENTS* :

 *1. Have the information of your assignment at your fingertips* .

 *2. Determine to have information about success secrets* .

 *3. Research on the biographies of outstandingly successful people.*
