Mourinho to meet Unai Emery amid rumours of replacing Arsenal manager




Jose Mourinho will come face to face with Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, at the UEFA Elite Club Coaches Forum next week, the UK Metro reports.
Emery is under huge pressure following a run of poor results and performances, while Mourinho has reportedly held talks with the Gunners’ hierarchy about replacing the Spaniard as manager.

Following Arsenal’s 1-1 draw against Vitoria in the Europa League on Wednesday, Emery was asked about the Mourinho speculation and simply replied: “I am the coach.” 
The pair will now meet in Nyon on November 11, as they are attending the UEFA Elite Club Coaches Forum, which is held every year for managers to get together to share ideas and experiences in the game.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who replaced Mourinho as Manchester United boss last December, will also be present.

Rashford warns Man Utd after qualification for Europa League knockout rounds




Manchester United striker, Marcus Rashford, has warned that the team has to be more ruthless, after they sealed their place in the Europa League knockout stage with two games to spare.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side beat Partizan Belgrade 3-0 on Thursday night to progress.

Rashford could have had a hat-trick in the first half, but had to wait until just after the restart to score.
Speaking to BT Sport afterwards, he said: “I think it was a good performance but there are things we can improve on.

“There were a couple of times where I was half a yard too forward, so it was a game of fine margins, but we’re happy with the three goals.

“For me, it’s about recognising it and trying to correct it in the next game, but I won’t let it stay on my mind for too long.”

NFF speaks on sacking Manu Garba as Nigeria crashes out of U17 World Cup




The General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, has rubbished reports claiming that Manu Garba, has been sacked as coach of the U17 team, following their elimination in the Round of 16, at the ongoing FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil.
Sanusi, speaking to SportingLife, also insisted there was no plan to sack Garba, without following the due process.

He said NFF would demand a full technical report from the coach, which would be reviewed by its Technical Committee headed by Ahmed Yusuf Fresh, before the board can take any decision.
“I know that much was expected from the team and many football pundits favoured the Eaglets to lift the trophy being a five-time winner of the cadet championship but you know in football anything can happen.
“Though I was not particularly happy with our ouster it doesn’t warrant the federation sacking a coach with valid contract.

“I can tell you categorically that Coach Manu Garba has not been sacked by the federation,” Sanusi said.

Willian reveals Chelsea rejected Barcelona’s offer to buy him




Chelsea midfielder, Willian, has revealed he received an offer from Barcelona last year, but the club turned it down.
Willian was heavily linked with an exit from Stamford Bridge, but ended up staying with the Blues.

“The only real official offer I had came from Barcelona, last year, after the World Cup.
“Barcelona indeed presented an offer to Chelsea but it was rejected.
“That was the only actual time I had to discuss something like this with my family, although we really love it here [London]. So there were several factors that helped us in staying,” he told DAZN.

Willian can discuss pre-contract terms with non-English clubs from January, as his current deal with Chelsea expires next summer.

Barcelona set to replace Suarez with Aubameyang




Barcelona are monitoring Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as replacement for Luis Suarez, according to El Chiringuito.
Aubameyang will reportedly consider his future at the Emirates, if they don’t qualify for the Champions League after this season.

However, Barca are looking to swoop as early as January.
Aubameyang, who has replaced Granit Xhaka as Arsenal captain, is yet to commit his long-term future with the Gunners.
He has also been linked with a move to Barcelona’s arch rivals, Real Madrid.

No talks with Bayern Munich, says Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has denied rumours that he is in discussions with Bayern Munich to become their new manager.

But the former Arsenal boss avoided removing himself from the running.
The German champions are looking for a new manager after they sacked Niko Kovac on Sunday, following a 5-1 defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt.

Wenger won the Premier League three times and the FA Cup seven times in a 22-year spell in north London before leaving at the end of 2017-18.

The 70-year-old Frenchman was providing analysis for beIN Sports on Wednesday for Bayern’s Champions League victory over Olympiakos.

Asked about the speculation, he said: “I never refuse to talk to Bayern Munich because I know these people who lead the club for 30 years.

Police officer charged over murder of footballer

A police officer has been charged with the murder of retired footballer Dalian Atkinson who died after being Tasered.

The ex-Aston Villa striker, 48, was restrained by police officers at his father’s house in Telford, Shropshire, on 15 August 2016.

A second police officer, also from the West Mercia Police force, has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm. Both have appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court.

The Crown Prosecution Services (CPS) has not named the officers because it believes their defence will apply for them to remain anonymous.
An alternative charge of unlawful act manslaughter has also been put forward by the CPS for the officer charged with murder, known as “Officer A”.

He was remanded in custody after appearing before magistrates.

The second officer, “Officer B”, indicated she would plead not guilty and was bailed ahead of their next appearance at Birmingham Crown Court later.

The CPS made the decision to press charges following an investigation by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Mr Atkinson’s family has been informed, a spokesperson said and issued a statement welcoming the decision but they “regret that already more than three years have passed since Dalian died”.

Police officers attended Meadow Close in Trench, Telford, where Mr Atkinson was detained outside an address at about 01:30 BST.

He was taken by ambulance to the Princess Royal Hospital where he later died.
It’s rare for a police officer to be charged with murder following the death of someone they were in contact with on duty.
The last time this happened in the UK was five years ago, when Anthony Long, a retired Metropolitan Police firearms officer, was charged with the murder of robbery suspect Azelle Rodney.

He was shot dead in north-west London in 2005, but 10 years later Mr Long was acquitted.

The exact circumstances of Dalian Atkinson’s death haven’t been revealed and it is not known whether the Taser contributed to, or caused his death.

However, this is believed to be the first time an officer has been charged with murder after a person has been Tasered by police.

Relatives said the former footballer was suffering from a number of health issues and had a weak heart when the Taser was deployed.

Mr Atkinson started his career at Ipswich Town before moving to Sheffield Wednesday, Real Sociedad, Aston Villa and Fenerbahçe in Turkey.

He is best remembered for scoring the Match of the Day goal of the season in 1992-93 when he dribbled the ball from inside his own half before chipping the Wimbledon keeper from the edge of the penalty area.
In a statement, West Mercia Police said: “Our thoughts continue to remain with the family and friends of Dalian Atkinson at this difficult time.”

Chief Constable Anthony Bangham said it would not be appropriate to comment on the circumstances around Mr Atkinson’s death, but added he would ensure the officers in question “have the appropriate support throughout the forthcoming criminal justice process”.

The IOPC said it appreciates the “patience” shown during their investigation, which concluded in October 2018.
Actions of a third police officer, who was also investigated over Mr Atkinson’s death, were not referred to the CPS, the watchdog added.

EPL: Klopp reveals best manager in the world



Liverpool boss, Juergen Klopp has identified Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola as his best manager in the world.

Klopp said this ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Guardiola’s men on Sunday at Anfield.

“We constantly get asked questions and sometimes we say what is in that second in our mind without thinking about anything else, that we are in public, that there is a camera,” Klopp told Sky Sports.

“I couldn’t have more respect for Pep Guardiola, that’s how it is. I’ve known him for so long, for me it’s a big thing to be his contender.

“For me he’s the best manager in the world and we have the chance to win against his team which is very difficult but possible. That’s enough for me.”

EPL: Lampard includes Mount, drops Barkely from Chelsea’s squad to face Crystal Palace



Chelsea coach, Frank Lampard on Friday confirmed that attacking midfielder, Mason Mount was included in the Blues’ squad to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon at Stamford Bridge.
Lampard also disclosed that midfielder, Ross Barkley was not included in Chelsea’s squad against Palace.

Lampard’s men head to the game following a 4-4 draw against Ajax in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
“Ross (Barkley) is not in the squad tomorrow [against Crystal Palace], he has an ongoing issue,” Lampard was quoted by Metro UK as saying at his pre-match press conference.
“Mason (Mount) is in the squad. We will give him another 24 hours and make a call on that.”

Lampard added: “Rudiger had an operation, he is out for three weeks and then we will see about his match fitness. Hopefully in three weeks’ time we will know more. You do well to cope without big players.”

The kick-off time for the match is 1:30pm.

The manager of Chelsea Football Club, Frank Lampard, has expressed satisfaction with the way his team played against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Chelsea had on Saturday defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 to climb to the second place on the English Premiership table.

However, Lampard while addressing a post-match press conference, said he was happy with the way the team started both halves of the game.

Lampard said it was a difficult decision putting “Reece James in for the in-form Cesar Azpilicueta because of everything our captain offers on and off the pitch, but he feels vindicated by the youngster’s performance on what was his full Premier League debut.”
According to Lampard: “It was a nice solid win with a clean sheet.

Pep Guardiola said he "does not know" if his Manchester City side can overcome a nine-point deficit and catch leaders Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

City are aiming to become the first side since Manchester United in 2009 to win three consecutive titles but now sit fourth in the Premier League.

"I am not a magician; I don't know the future," Guardiola said.

"We have Chelsea at home next. We will try to beat them."

City are now in a not dissimilar position to last term, when the Reds opened up a 10-point lead over Guardiola's side after 20 games, although at that stage Liverpool had played one match more.

However, City then went on a remarkable run, dropping just three points in their remaining 18 games, which included a victory over the Reds at Etihad Stadium.

The pivotal moment in that game came via a dramatic goalline clearance by John Stones.

But City were on the wrong side of a match-defining moment on this occasion when they were convinced they should have been awarded a penalty for a Trent Alexander-Arnold handball moments before Fabinho struck the opening goal.

Guardiola appeared visibly upset by the decision to allow the goal, suggesting any questions about it should be put to Mike Riley, general manager of Professional Game Match Officials Limited, the body responsible for referees in English professional football.

The City manager offered no comment on the incident beyond saying: "Ask Mike Riley and his people please."

He added: "Congratulations to Liverpool, they scored three, we got one but I'm so proud of my team, few teams can come here and play the way we did.

"We started incredibly well, we showed incredible bravery, they are the champions of Europe and it is the most difficult stadium in the world. We played like back-to-back champions.

"We cannot deny how good Liverpool are but the way we played, the personality, it was good."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp called the frenetic nature of the game "incredible" and "really wild", even if Fabinho's opener met with a muted response from the German.

"The problem was the VAR. I saw the discussions before the first goal and I was just waiting," Klopp said.

"It is not the same any more but it is no problem. I can celebrate tonight. It was so tough to play, the intensity of the game was so clear. It was all worth it, really great."

Headers from Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane put Liverpool in control before Bernardo Silva pulled a goal back for the champions.

But it was not enough to prevent Liverpool from enhancing their prospects of a first domestic title for 30 years.

Only Manchester United (nine points in 1993-94) have enjoyed a bigger advantage at this stage of a Premier League season, with Klopp's side now eight points clear of Leicester and Chelsea at the top.

But despite that margin, Klopp played down its significance, with his squad now facing a busy run of fixtures between 23 November and 2 January.

"It's not important," he added. "Who wants to be first in early November? It's important to be top in May.

Angry Ronaldo Leaves Juve Stadium After Being Substituted In 55th Minute



Cristiano Ronaldo was not happy after being substituted by Juventus Coach Maurizio Sarri for the second game running, MySportDab reports.

Ronaldo's replacement Dybala scored in the 77th minute with a goal the Portuguese would have been proud of.

After a quick exchange of passes, the Argentine twisted past Alessio Romagnoli and beat Gianluigi Donnarumma with a right footshot.

Ronaldo was taken off in the 55th minute, his earliest substitution since he joined Juve at the start of last season and the first time he has been replaced twice in succession.

Despite producing a lacklustre display, Ronaldo gave coach Maurizio Sarri a dirty look, muttered something under his breath andwalked straight down the tunnel.

Sky Sport Italia later reported that Ronaldo left the stadium before the game had even finished.

Ronaldo also looked unhappy after being taken off during Wednesday's Champions League match at Lokomotiv Moscow.

Serie A: Capello blasts Cristiano Ronaldo after Juventus’ 1-0 win over AC Milan

Former Italy and England national team coach, Fabio Capello, has criticised Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo after Maurizio Sarri’s men defeated AC Milan 1-0 in the Serie A on Sunday.
Ronaldo reacted angrily after being replaced by Paulo Dybala in the 55th minute during the encounter and immediately made his way up the tunnel.

The 34-year-old also left the stadium three minutes to the end of the match.
But. Capello, Who supported Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri’s decision to substitute Ronaldo, said that the Portugal international had not dribbled past anyone in the last three years.
“[Cristiano] is a great champion, nobody argues with that, but he hasn’t dribbled past anyone in the last three years,” Capello told Sky Sport Italia.

“At the moment, he isn’t at his best and it is normal to replace him. Sarri doesn’t need to be brave or show his personality to make that change.
“It’s not nice that he didn’t sit on the bench [after being taken off] and argued with Sarri.
“One has to be a champion even when he is replaced, not only when things are going well. He must respect his team-mates.”

Juventus will now take on Atalanta in their next Serie A fixture.

Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang involved in motorway crash while driving his £270k Lamborghini (Photos)








Arsenal's new captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was involved in a crash hours before their 2 - 0 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday, November 9. 
 
The Gabonese striker, 30, reportedly crashed his £270,000 silver Lamborghini Aventador on the M25 near Potters Bar, Hertfordshire while driving back from training on Friday evening. (Nov.8)
 
In footage obtained by The Sun, Aubameyang was filmed standing next to his supercar as another driver inspected the damage to his vehicle following the motorway crash. 
 

'It was rush-hour so cars were not going fast and travelling around them,' an onlooker is reported to have told The Sun. 
 
It wasn't reported if anyone suffered any injuries from the incident. But hours after the motorway crash, Aubameyang played in Arsenal's 2 - 0 defeat to Leicester. 
 
Aubameyang who is a fan of expensive cars has a collection of lavish sports cars worth over £2million.
