Hazard rejects Real Madrid move

Eden Hazard has ruled out the possibility of leaving Chelsea for Real Madrid in January.

Speaking after Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Southampton on Sunday, Hazard confirmed that joining the European champions remains his “dream” and that he wants to “make it happen,” but added that he remains open to talking to the Blues about a new contract.

Hazard’s comments prompted reports in Spain that Madrid could look to test Chelsea’s resolve to keep Hazard in January.

But in a news conference on Belgium duty, Hazard confirmed he has no intention of leaving Chelsea in the middle of the season.

Asked if a move to Madrid in January is a possibility, Hazard replied: “No.”

Hazard did, however, court further speculation about his future with a teasing reply when asked if he needs to play in Spain to win the Ballon d’Or.

“That’s why I want to go, maybe,” he said with a mischievous smile.

Chelsea are desperate to keep Hazard, who will enter the final year of his contract this summer and has so far been reluctant to commit to a long-term extension as he waits for Madrid to decide whether or not they will make a concerted effort to sign him at the end of the season.

Eden Hazard has started the new season in the form of his life, and leads the Premier League’s scoring charts with seven goals in his first eight appearances under Maurizio Sarri. Sources have told ESPN FC that Chelsea are prepared to make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history to stop him leaving for Madrid.

“I’m in a pretty good shape at the moment,” Hazard added. “I hope to continue like this for a long time.”

But the Chelsea star believes he has even more to give for club and country.

“Honestly, I think I have already been in a better shape than I am now,” he said. “Statistically, this is the best season start I ever had.

“But on the pitch, I have already been better at Lille and Chelsea.”

France forward, Kylian Mbappe admitted that his whirlwind rise to the top of world football has totally changed his life.

Mbappe, who joined Paris Saint-Germain from Ligue 1 rivals Monaco for a staggering £166million, has become one of the top stars in football and won the World Cup with France this summer at the tender age of 19.

The French star has been making headlines across Europe for years now and is being tipped to soon topple Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player in world football.

And with his stock continuing to skyrocket, Mbappe has earned an appearance on the cover of Time magazine’s international edition, which will appear on Friday.

Kylian Mbappe – who has won two Ligue 1 titles – has sat down with Time to discuss his journey to the top, admitting he has fulfilled his dreams already – but it has come at a price.

The teenager said: ‘My life has been totally turned upside down. I am happy, and I am living the life I always dreamed of.

‘I think I might have missed out on something. I did not have the moments of so-called normal people during adolescence, like going out with friends, enjoying good times.’

Despite earning stardom at such a young age, Mbappe has remained humble throughout it all and this sets him apart from the rest trying to make it to the top.

The Frenchman recently donated his World Cup earnings £378,000 to a charity teaching sports to sick and disabled children.

And he intends to remain as humble as ever.

‘I have learned that the biggest stars and the greatest players are the most humble ones, the ones who respect people the most.

‘You always have to keep some lucidity,’ Mbappe adds. ‘There are three criteria: respect, humility and lucidity.’

Luka Modric Deserves 2018 Ballon D'or - Chelsea Star Eden Hazard



Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has revealed who he thinks should win the 2018 Ballon D'or Award.

Hazard is on a 30-man shortlist for the prize alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Mohamad Salah.

But Hazard doesn't believe any of the trio will win the award this year.

Messi won La Liga with Barcelona last season while Ronaldo helped Real Madrid to their third successive Champions Leaguetrophy.

Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric recently won the FIFA Best Award having also been a part of the Croatian squad that reached the 2018 World Cup final in Russia.

And Hazard is tipping the midfielder to win his first Ballon d’Or.

"I don't think I'm going to win it,” Hazard said.

“In my opinion, Modric deserves it.

"There are three to four players. I could say [Madrid and France defender Raphael] Varane because he won a lot too.

“I could deserve it too, let's not lie.

"But seriously, I think that Modric will win it.

“It is going to be a reward for his wonderful season in the Champions League and the final of the World Cup."

Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe are another contenders for the Ballon d’Or having helped France to glory.

Rivaldo identifies club Hazard should sign for, gives reasons

Brazil legend, Rivaldo has identified La Liga giants, Real Madrid as the club Chelsea ace, Eden Hazard should sign for in the January transfer window.

Hazard has been heavily linked with a mega move to join the Champions League holders over the past two years.

The 27-year-old, who has been on top form this season, is currently the Premier League’s top goal scorer.


But, Rivaldo believes the Belgium international should join the Los Blancos.
He said that he is the top player that can give Madrid the deserve boost following the departure of their all-time highest goal scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo.
“The Belgian attacker [Hazard] is a great player and could be a very good option for his ‘dream club’ Real Madrid in the next transfer window,” Rivaldo told Betfair.

“Hazard was excellent for Belgium at the World Cup and has started the new Premier League season very well.
“For that reason, Real Madrid should be considering his signing, especially given their recent poor form and Hazard’s stated desire to play at the Bernabeu.
“This kind of move could be good for the club and fans, as the arrival of a top player would give a much needed boost after Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure.
“Hazard is very talented, scores goals and assists a lot, he’s a spectacular player who I particularly appreciate.
“In my opinion, Hazard could play even better at Real Madrid than in England as Spanish football gives a little more freedom to the players.
“So if he is already producing masterpieces in the Premier League, he could get even better in Spain.”
Hazard will hope to fire Chelsea to victory when they take on Manchester United in their next fixture in the Premier League on October 20.

Giuffredi reveals why Sarri failed to sign Hysaj from Napoli

Napoli President, Aurelio De Laurentiis was the main reason Chelsea could not sign Elseid Hysaj during the summer transfer window, according to the player’s agent Mario Giuffredi.

Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri was expected to come along with Hysaj to London after years of working together at two different clubs but the transfer never materialised.

And Hysaj’s agent claims it is because De Laurentiis would not allow the move to go through.


The defender wanted to join the Blues, but Giuffredi explained it was impossible after Napoli agreed to allow Jorginho move to the Stamford Bridge.
“Those who criticise him probably never make mistakes, but the rest of us are mere mortals,” Giuffredi told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
“Without that clause he probably would have gone to Chelsea this summer.

“People forget that he was one of the best two or three full-backs in Europe last season. Then it just takes two or three matches for him to become a donkey.
“I always say to let everyone talk and then respond on the pitch.”

Wenger is being linked with a move to PSG
After nine matches, the Parisians have a 100% record but it is behind the scenes where the problems apparently lay.
According to RMC, Wenger is being considered for a senior role because current sporting director Antero Henrique is reportedly at loggerheads with Tuchel.
The German wanted to recruit midfielders in the summer, with a move for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante mooted at one point.
However, the World Cup winner stayed in west London and an injury to Marco Verratti left PSG desperately light in midfield.

"Lionel Messi Goes To Bathroom 20 Times Before A Match" - Diego Maradona


Argentina Legend Diego Maradona has questioned Barcelona Star Lionel Messi's leadership skills.

Maradona is currently Coach of Mexican second division club Dorados.

The football legend took charge of Messi and Argentina at the 2010 World Cup In South Africa. 

At the 2018 World Cup, Argentina were beaten 4-3 by France in the Last 16 in Kazan.

Maradona had to be taken to hospital after watching his country beat Nigeria to secure qualification to the knockout round.

The 57-year-old has now slammed Messi after criticising the Argentina national team's recent poor performances. 

Maradona has suggested that Messi’s behavior before a match do not make him a worthy candidate for any kind of leadership role.

"He does ask for it on the pitch, but before speaking to team-mates he'll go and play the Playstation,” Maradona told Mexican programme 'La Ultima Palabra'.

"For me it's difficult to talk, but it's pointless wanting to make a man who goes to the bathroom 20 times before a match into the leader.”

Thierry Henry has ‘everything’ to become good coach – Deschamps

Thierry Henry has “everything” needed to become a good manager, France coach and former international teammate Didier Deschamps said of the newly-named Monaco coach.

“Thierry’s ready,” Deschamps told TF1. “He has everything” to be a good coach.

“He’s throwing himself into an exciting, exhilarating project where he’ll have to take responsibility. It’ll be up to him to take the reins.”

Former Arsenal star Henry was named Monaco coach on Saturday, his first job in club management after leaving his position with the Belgian national team.
The 41-year-old French World Cup winner, who had been working as an assistant to Belgium coach Roberto Martinez since 2016, returns to the club where he began his professional career.
Henry replaces Leonardo Jardim, who in 2017 guided Monaco to their first Ligue 1 title since 2000. He was sacked on Thursday after a string of poor results left Monaco in the relegation places.
Deschamps, who captained the France team featuring Henry that won the 1998 World Cup and Euro 2000, also started his coaching career at Monaco, back in 2001.
“The first season was very complicated,” he said, wishing Henry “lots of courage and big success”.

Eden Hazard is staying at Chelsea until 2020 - Maurizio Sarri

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard will be staying at the club until 2020, according to manager Maurizio Sarri.

The Belgian has been at Chelsea since 2012, signing from French side Lille and has developed into one of the most dangerous attacking players in world football.

Under Sarri, Hazard has started the current season off in superb fashion, scoring eight goals in 10 games, reigniting rumours of a move to Real Madrid – with the Belgian’s contract up in 2020.

But Sarri, who claims Hazard will be staying at Chelsea until the end of his contract, believes the forward can still improve if he focuses less on fun.

“Hazard is immense and I don’t think even he knows how much he can still improve,” Sarri told Corriere dello Sport (via Football Italia).
“I said he could end up in the tight circle of the best three or four players in the world.
“The problem is he plays to enjoy himself and at times doesn’t realise the importance of moving from fun to reaping the rewards. At the end of the day, you’ve got to get the fruits of your labour.
“Hazard’s approach is a positive, but it can become a potential limitation too. He needs to lift his head up, look around and realise there’s a whole world in front of him that he can dictate with his feet for the good of the collective and not just the individual.
“He said such kind words about me, I wasn’t expecting that. His contract expires in 2020, but he’s staying here. I was tempted to use Hazard as a centre-forward and I might consider it again in the future, but it’s not the right time now. We need to believe in Olivier Giroud and Alvaro Morata.”
Hazard is currently top scorer in the Premier League with seven goals, two ahead of his closest competitors, and will be looking to add to that tally when Chelsea face Manchester United in their first match after the international break.
Leading the way is Polish striker Krzysztof Piatek who has scored nine goals for Genoa in Serie A, ahead of Cristhian Stuani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe who all have eight.
Hazard’s seven goals have come from just 12 shots, 10 of which were on target – the fewest attempts on goal among the top five.
The Belgian has also been a key creator too with three assists from 19 chances created, level with Neymar among the top five scorers.

Breaking News: Djokovic the new champion in Shanghai

Novak Djokovic is the new champion of Shanghai Masters, beating 21 year-old Croatian Borna Coric in two straight sets 6-3 6-4.

By the victory, he has won a record fourth Rolex Shanghai Masters title and his 32nd Masters title overall.

The victory has also galloped him close to finish 2018 as the year-end No. 1 in the ATP Rankings.

He is now just 35 points behind 33-time Masters 1000 titles leader Rafael Nadal (7,480) in the year-to-date ATP Race To London with three weeks left in the regular ATP World Tour season, ATPWorldTour.com reported.

Djokovic, who has already booked his place alongside Nadal, Juan Martin, Roger Federer and Alexander Zverev at the prestigious Nitto ATP Finals, to be held at The O2 in the English capital from 11-18 November, finished as the year-end No. 1 in 2011-12, 2014-15.

Djokovic did not drop his serve in Shanghai all week — 47 service games — and after another confident display in Sunday’s final he improved to a 27-1 match record since capturing the Wimbledon title on 15 July.

On Monday, he will return to the world’s Top 2 — replacing Federer at No. 2 — for the first time since 11 June 2017.

Djokovic had previously captured the Shanghai title in 2012 (d. Murray), 2013 (d. Del Potro), and 2015 (d. Tsonga).

He is now 20-6 at Masters 1000 tournaments this year — second only to Zverev (22-7) for most match wins — and also won Western & Southern Open silverware in August with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Federer to become the first player to capture all nine Masters 1000 titles since the tournament series was established in 1990.

Djokovic leaves China with 1,000 ATP Rankings points and $1,360,560 in prize money after he lifted his 72nd tour-level crown. He has a 45-10 record this season (23-4 on hard courts), which includes three other trophies at Wimbledon (d. Anderson), Cincinnati and the US Open (d. Federer).

Coric earned 600 points and $667,115 after contesting his fifth ATP World Tour final (2-3 record).

Second seed Djokovic was relentless in defence and quick to capitalise on the short ball, in a physical opening to the final that saw six shots as the average rally length through the first six games. The Serbian took a 4-2 lead after 25 minutes when Coric over-hit a forehand long of the baseline. Djokovic kept his opponent on the move, mixing up his service placement and making forays to the net in order to extend his advantage. He clinched the 38-minute first set with a hold to love, having lost four service points overall.

A forehand volley error from Coric gifted Djokovic the opening game of the second set, but the Croatian did well to save four break points in the third game that lasted 11 minutes. With victory in sight, Djokovic raised his return game to hold three championship points at 5-3, but Coric showed great character to work his way back.

The 21-year-old Coric, who beat Federer in the Gerry Weber Open final in June and also on Saturday in the Shanghai semi-finals, was attempting to become the youngest champion at the Masters 1000 tournament, held at the Qi Zhong Stadium. He is now 8-15 lifetime against Top 5 opponent and is 36-18 on the year (22-11 on hard courts).

"Juventus One Of The Best Teams In Europe" - Romelu Lukaku

Manchester United Striker Romelu Lukaku has spoken on his love for the Serie A and particularly record Champions Juventus.

Lukaku scored twice earlier this week as Belgium defeated Switzerland 2-1 in the UEFA Nations League.

That looked shocking due to his poor performance at club level for United.

Lukaku's team have been under intense pressure this season and have already lost three matches in less than 10 matches.

Now the Red Devils are keen to turn their form around after a stunning 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle.

After the international break, United play against Chelsea before hosting Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League.

Now Lukaku had admitted his love for Juventus and Italian football.

"Juve have a great project in place a they just keep going," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Without doubt, Juve are one of the two or three best teams in Europe. They've got a great coach and extraordinary players in every area of the team.

"Every year they try to get stronger. Cristiano Ronaldo stands out but watch out for the others too.

“Paulo Dybala is already impressive and getting stronger, while I love Douglas Costa. He's an exceptional signing and his career shows he always makes the difference.”

Lukaku's brother Jordan plays his football in Rome with Lazio.

When asked if he would consider a move to Italy he said: “Why not? I hope so.”

Speaking on the Champions League, Lukaku added: "It's a tough group, but obviously Manchester United want to finish on top." 

However, United have the highest points tally of any English club in the Champions League this campaign.

Nigeria Vs Libya: Chelsea, Arsenal React To Super Eagles’ Win


Chelsea and Arsenal have reacted to Super Eagles’ 4-0 victory over Libya in the 2019 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, qualifying encounter played on Saturday evening.

Three goals from Changchun Yatai star, Odion Ighalo, and a goal from Kalu Uche, ensured that the Super Eagles took all three points in Uyo.

The two Premier League clubs, monitored the game due to their respective players, Ola Aina and Alex Iwobi, who were in action for Gernot Rohr’s side.

In their match review, Chelsea stated through their official website, that: ”Ola Aina also started on the bench for Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier but he was introduced into the action much sooner.

”An injury led to our 22-year-old defender, who is currently on-loan in Italy at Torino, coming on after just 18 minutes of a home game against Libya. Nigeria were 1-0 up at that stage and Aina was able to play his part in a clean-sheet performance, with the Super Eagles running out 4-0 winners despite being without our former midfielder and their current captain John Mikel Obi due to injury. Kenneth Omeruo was an unused sub.”

On their part, Arsenal also stated through their official website that: ”Alex Iwobi claimed an assist in Nigeria’s 4-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying win over Libya….

”Iwobi then set up Ighalo’s second with an inch-perfect through ball, with the former Watford striker claiming his hat-trick soon after. ”

Meanwhile, Nigeria will travel to Tunisia to take on Libya in the return leg on Tuesday.

Arsenal Defender Koscielny Retires From France After Criticizing France Manager

France and Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny has retired from international duty after criticising manager Didier Deschamps for his treatment while recovering from injury.

The defender ruptured an Achilles in the Europa League semi-final in May and missed out on France's World Cup-winning campaign in Russia.
Koscielny, 33, said "lots of people disappointed him" during his lay-off.

"It feels like a hit on the back of the head," he said.
"When you are in good form, you have lots of friends. When you are injured... after a certain period of time, you are forgotten about.

"He [Deschamps] called me once for my birthday in September. Otherwise, no. Lots of people disappointed me. Not only the coach."
Koscielny announced last year that he intended to retire from international football after the World Cup and said missing out on the tournament did not change his mind.

But he also said his absence in Russia this summer will remain "a dark step" in his career.
He made 51 appearances for France, making his debut in November 2011, and took part in the European Championships in 2012 and 2016, as well as the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

"The injury is one thing, the victory of the World Cup is another," Koscielny said. "I think the victory certainly made me much more psychologically hurt than my injury.
"I think I gave the France team what I could. For me, my injury has not changed anything. The Blues are over, after that, I will always be a supporter of the French team but what is certain is that I will not put on the blue jersey.

"I have a new state of mind, there will be the Laurent before and the Laurent after injury. I want to continue to Arsenal, I want to return quickly. I want to fight."
His last appearance for France was in March in a 3-1 friendly victory over Russia.

PSG ready to sign Manchester United star after contract negotiations break down

Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea’s situation at Manchester United with a view to making a move for the Spaniard.

De Gea will be out of contract at the end of the season but United will trigger a 12-month extension clause in his deal to extend his stay at the club until 2020.

United had been confident that he will agree to the new long-term deal at the club, especially as Real Madrid decided to sign Chelsea stopper Thibaut Courtois.

However, the crisis at Old Trafford has led to a breakdown in negotiations with De Gea’s representatives over a new deal and the Spaniard is unwilling to commit his future to the club.
According to the Daily Mail, the situation has increased PSG’s interest in De Gea and they’re willing to make a huge offer for the Spanish no.1.

AFCON: Ighalo shoots Nigeria top of Group E

A brace by Odion Ighalo and another goal by Ahmed Musa gave Nigeria’s Super Eagles a 3-2 victory over hosts Libya in Sfax, Tunisia, to move top of Group E of 2019 AFCON Qualifiers.

The Super Eagles led the game 2-0 in the first half, with Ighalo and Musa scoring three minutes apart. Libya’s Mohamed Zubya reduced the deficit in the 35th minute.

And in the second half Ahmad Benali levelled for Libya after the team piled a lot of pressure on the Nigerians.

But Ighalo in the 81st minute gave Eagles the full three points, to keep them ahead of South Africa in the group.
The Super Eagles now have nine points, overtaking South Africa who played a goalless draw away at Seychelles earlier today.
Libya are third in the group with four points and Seychelles have had just a point.
The teams in the group will next meet on 16 November, with Nigeria travelling to South Africa, while Seychelles will host Libya.
Then next year March, Nigeria will host Seychelles, while Libya will host South Africa for the final matches of the group.

Al Nassr and Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa says his goal against the Mediterranean Knights was to celebrate his birthday which held two days ago.

Musa who was the stand-in captain capped his fine display with a goal he converted in the 17th minute for Nigeria's second goal of the night in the 3-2 win over the Libyans.

He took to his IG to say a job well-done to his teammates and also dedicated his goal as his birthday gift.
