Aston Villa complete the ÂŁ30m signing of Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen
Aston Villa have completed the signing of Jamaica forward Leon Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen on a four-year deal.
Â
Villa announced an agreement for the transfer had been reached with the Bundesliga side on Saturday, before the deal was sealed.Â
Â
Bailey had been offered to Premier League clubs this summer following Leverkusen's failure to qualify for the Champions League.
Â
'It is a great club with a big history,' Bailey told the club's official website. 'I think it is the next step for me and I am excited to get started.Â
Â
'I am always putting on a great show for the fans, it has been a great time for me in Germany, I am excited to get started for Aston Villa.'Â
Â
"Leon is a hugely exciting young striker with great pace and creativity," said Villa head coach Dean Smith.
Â
"He has enjoyed a successful career at Leverkusen and we are now looking forward to watching him show his skills and talents for Aston Villa in the Premier League."
Â
Bailey becomes Villa's third signing of the summer after the arrival of Emiliano Buendia from Norwich City and Ashley Young from Inter Milan.
Â
The announcement of Bailey's arrival follows the news that Villa are set to accept Manchester City's ÂŁ100m bid for captain Jack Grealish.
