How Co-Tenant Organised Robbery Attack Against Neighbour In Lagos

Police in Lagos have revealed how a tenant conspired with other members of his armed gang to attack his co-tenant. The incident happened in Ebute- Ikorodu, a suburb of the State.

The suspect, identified as Seun Hammed Olayinka ‘a.k.a D J Shy’, was alleged to have conspired with his gang members to rob a co-tenant named Omotoyosi Bello in their residence located at 32 Ajose Street, Ebute, Ikorodu.

The Commissioner of Police Lagos Command, Edgal Imohimi made the disclosure at a press briefing on Monday.

The police boss said the gang attacked the victim on 9th of August 2018, at about8.30pm and dispossessed her of an iPhone valued at N150,000.00.

According to him, while Hammed, the mastermind of the attack escaped and luck ran against three members of the gang who took part in the robbery attack as they were arrested by the command’s raider team.

Edgal noted that the arrest was made through a painstaking investigation conducted by the raider team following a complaint by the victim to the police.

He identified the arrested suspects as 29-year-old Solomon Jacob, 32-year-old Ifeanyi Chifalue and Akinola Micheal, aged 24.

The CP added that one English revolver pistol and three live ammunition were recovered from the suspects including the stolen iPhone 8. He said all the suspects will be charged to court soon.

“When I ask you the question, do you know your neighbour? Usually, at the end of every press briefing, it isn’t just a mere word rather it is a question we must ask ourselves all the time.

If Omotoyosi Bello knew that her neighbour and co-tenant at no 32, Ajose Street, Ebute Ikorodu, by name Seun Hammed Olayinka ‘DJ Shy’ is a member of an armed robbery gang, perhaps she might have given him up to the police. But unfortunately for her, the said Seun, a Disc Jockey (DJ) organised a 3-man-armed robbery gang to attack and rob her of her iPhone valued One Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only on the 9th of August, 2018 at about 8:30 pm.

However, through a painstaking investigation conducted by the Command’s Raider team, three of the robbers who took part in the operation were arrested and the iPhone recovered. While the said Seun Hammed Olayinka, a co-tenant to the victim, who staged the robbery is currently at large,” the CP said.

Man Disguises As A Robber To Have Sex With Lady Who Rejected Him In Lagos

A 28-year old man, Mr. Oluwaseyi Omotosho, has been arrested in Lagos after he acted as a robber at night and tried to have sex with a lady who rejected his love advances at Fola Azeez Street in Alakuko area of Lagos where they resided.

The police alleged that Mr. Omotosho broke into the apartment of the lady (name withheld) at about 1am, acted as a robber, threatened the victim, forced her to remove her pant and penetrated her.

However, during the forceful sex romp, the victim was able to recognise that it was the same guy she had rejected his love advances that was on top of her having sex disguised as a robber. After the romp, Omotosho escaped from the apartment. In the morning, the victim went to the police and reported the incident. He was immediately arrested and detained at the police station.

It was gathered that the victim claimed that after the sex romp that Omotosho stole her phone worth about N120,000 on the day the incident happened and that he should return the phone or pay for it but Omotosho denied stealing her phone.
The police charged Omotosho before the Ogba Magistrates court for burglary, stealing and unlawful sexual intercourse with the victim.
He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector V. Guada, did not oppose his being granted bail and asked the court to give a short date for the hearing.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The court also directed the prosecutor to duplicate his file and send to DPP for advice.
The matter was adjourned till 29th August, 2018.

It was gathered that if the DPP finds Omotosho culpable, he gets tried in court and is convicted, that he may spend up to 10 years in prison for the alleged offence.
