Fuel Scarcity Hits Oke Ogun, Leaves Commuters Stranded At Bus Stops (Photo) - Edoman - 08-13-2021

Quote:Residents of Saki and other towns in Oke Ogun geo-political zone in Oyo State are currently experiencing a scarcity of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) also known as petrol due to the unavailability of products.

Our correspondent gathered that the fuel scarcity started earlier in the week due to the inadequate supply of PMS to the area.

Many commuters in the area are now stranded in most of the bus stops following the development.

Our correspondent gathered that a majority of filling stations in the town were closed.on Thursday leaving motorists and motorcyclists stranded

Some of the affected areas include Barracks Road, Ajegunle and Ago-Are Road.

The few petroleum stations that opened were filled with queues, DAILY POST observed.

Some of the residents who could not wait at the petroleum stations resorted to patronising the black market.

The price of a litre of petrol ranged between N250 and N350 in some parts of Saki as at Thursday.

Some of the residents lamented the effects of the fuel scarcity.

They claimed that it has affected their businesses.

But, all efforts made by DAILY POST to get a reaction from the state Chairman of Independent Independent Petrol Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Mr. Bukola Mutiu proved abortive.

Several calls put through his mobile phone were not answered.

A message sent to him, asking for his reaction has not been replied to as of the time of filing this report on Thursday.
