Daily Devotional for Monday 7th June - Edoman - 06-07-2021

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES

MONDAY 7TH JUNE.

STRIVING IN PRAYER

Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers… (Colossians 4:12).

The phrase translated “laboring fervently” in the scripture above is “agōnizomai” (Greek), and it doesn’t translate into mere labouring; it means to strive. In fact, the first synonym is “to fight”; it also means to struggle or contend with an adversary. The same word is what we have in 1 Timothy 6:12 which says, “Fight the good fight….”

Now, Paul, by the Spirit, tells the Christians in the church in Colossae that Epaphras was always “fighting” for them in prayers. He was contending with satanic forces in their behalf. That’s part of what you do in interceding for others. 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 says, “But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” Here, we see why we must strive in prayer for the souls of men.

Perhaps you have family members and loved ones, friends, colleagues and neighbours you’ve been witnessing to and they’ve refused to heed the call of salvation; God’s Word shows what the real problem is: Satan—the “god of this world”—has blinded their minds! For such people, you must contend for their souls in prayer; you “agonize” in intercession for them. You declare, “In the Name of the Lord Jesus, you evil spirit of darkness that has blinded their minds, I break your influence over them!”

But you see, you don’t stop there; you continue in intercession; it’s called prevailing in prayer. You travail in prayer over their minds, that their hearts be opened to the Lord, and be guided to the Word of God, in the Name of Jesus. You pray that the light of the glorious Gospel shines in their hearts, and they embrace the grace of God for their salvation; the presence of God mantles their hearts and God’s Word prevails in their lives. Hallelujah!
Pray like this for your friends or family members who aren’t yet born again, and you’ll be amazed at the result. Praise God!

PRAYER

Blessed Lord, I pray that the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ would shine in the hearts of many today who are yet to receive salvation, turning them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Amen.

#TALKINGSESSION

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank You for the Gospel of Christ that has blessed and enriched me. Thank You for choosing me before the foundation of the world that I should be holy, blameless, and accepted in Your presence, according to the good pleasure of Your will.

 I function in the consciousness and boldness that I am justified and have peace with You, enjoying an indissoluble oneness with You, to the praise and glory of Your grace. I thank You for the efficacy of Your Word. As I meditate on it today, my faith is built up.

Thank You Lord for my heart is filled with goodness because of Your Word in me. As occasion demands, I bring forth good things from my spirit to bless my world. I am in Christ; irrespective of the perils and tribulations in the world,

I am shielded and protected. I am like a tree planted by the waters, that spreads out her roots by the river. I do not know when the heat comes. God’s blessing brings wealth, with no painful toil for it; therefore, I refuse to struggle in life, because I am in Your rest. I am prosperous and successful in every good work.

I walk in the prearranged paths which the Father has made ready for me before the foundations of the world. I am guided by the Spirit to walk in wisdom and understanding, filled with the thoughts of righteousness. I’m energized for the work of the Kingdom.

 I remain undaunted, unmovable, and always joyful for the work ahead. I take advantage of the Word and the blessings of the Spirit, through which I’m trained, strengthened, and instructed for a continuous life of victory, success, promotion, and greatness, in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

God bless you

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

 DATE: MONDAY 7TH JUNE 2021

THEME: IDENTIFY YOUR ENEMIE II

 MEMORISE:
 Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me.    Psalm 35:1

READ:  Luke 18:1-3
1And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

MESSAGE:
You cannot afford to be gentle with your enemy- the devil because if you do not get him first, he Will get you. When the woman in the Bible reading of today prayed thus “avenge me of my adversary", I assume:

1. That the adversary was not a stranger.
2. Since the adversary was known to her, it means the battle was not new.
3. The adversary must have wronged her significantly. Once an adversary discovers your weakness, he will keep hitting you at the same spot.
4. When the widow said, "my adversary", it means the adversary was personal to her. It is sad that some people fight other people's enemies-leaving theirs unchallenged.
The fact that the woman cried to the judge shows that she knew she could not fight for herself; she needed a higher power. This is exactly what David knew and wrote in Psalms 35. Goliath was a mighty external enemy; however, it was easy for David to kill him. This is because David knew that the spiritual controls the physical even from the utterance of his adversary who said in 1 Samuel 17:43:
"...Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods."

Why did Goliath curse David by his gods and then go head to use his weapons against the lad? Beloved, unbelievers believe that no life can be taken if the thing they believe in does not allow it. It was as if Goliath was taken permission from his gods to take David’s life. As for David, he saw Goliath as someone who tried to ridicule the Almighty God· In the end, David dealt with Goliath. Some people seem to be more benevolent than God, to their peril. When they are asked to pray to God to fight their battles for them, they keep mute, thinking it is wrong to say such prayers, whereas the man whom our memory verse described as after God's heart prayed when confronted with the destroyers of his life. While we are not permitted to take vengeance on our adversaries, we must act like the widow in today's Bible reading; she reported the case to a higher authority. God is the Righteous Judge and His judgement is the most accurate (Psalm 9:8). As you do, the Lord will fight your battle for you today in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINT:
Cry to God; ask Him to fight on your behalf, against the enemies who want to destroy you.

 BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Samuel 4-7.

AUTHOR: PASTOR E. A. ADEBOYE

HYMN 4:  CONQUERORS AND OVERCOMERS NOW ARE WE.
1.       Conquerors and overcomers now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we've victory,
If the Lord be for us, we can never fail;
Nothing 'gainst his mighty pow'r can e'er prevail.

Refrain:
Conquerors are we, thro’ the blood, thro’ the blood;
God will give us victory, thro’ the blood, thro’ the blood,
Thro’ the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.

2.       In the name of Israel's God we'll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us, but unto him the praise shall be,
For salvation and for blood-bought victory.

3.       Unto him that overcometh shall be giv’n
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from heav'n;
Over yonder he the victor's palm shall bear,
And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear.

SEEDS ?????????OF DESTINY

DAILY DEVOTIONAL

 DATE: MONDAY 7TH JUNE 2021

?TOPIC: ACCESSING THE WISDOM FOR INDESTRUCTIBILITY

To possess God is to possess wisdom.

SCRIPTURE?: The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY?: To possess God is to possess wisdom.

Message:
It has been established from our previous studies that the Wisdom of God makes a person unstoppable and indestructible. We saw this in the life of David who was unstoppable and indestructible despite several confrontations. We also saw that where the wisdom of God is at work, the bad will of man cannot prevail.

Today, we shall be looking at the secret of this wisdom that makes people unstoppable and indestructible in life and destiny.

Now, what is the key to this wisdom?

The fear of the Lord

The key to the Wisdom of God is the fear of the Lord as expressed in the pursuit of God (Proverbs 9:10).

David was a God chaser (Psalm 42:1-2). The Bible called him, “The Man after God’s Heart” (1Samuel 13:14).

Beloved, take note of these two key-statements:

a. To pursue God is to pursue wisdom because God is the Headquarters of wisdom.

To possess God is to possess wisdom. For God is the All-wise God (Colossians 2:3).

b. You cannot love God and lack wisdom.

It is not possible to love God passionately and lack wisdom. (Colossians 2:3).

Now, let me give you these counsels:

1. Reorder your life’s priorities. If you want the kind of wisdom that delivered David from the javelin of Saul, reorder your life’s priorities, and ensure that God is first in your life.

2. Glorify God in all you do. Let this be your greatest passion – glorifying God with your life, work, intellect, career, voice, heart, and resources.

Beloved, I decree today that as you are ready to glorify God and make Him first in your life, His Wisdom shall become your portion and destruction shall be far from you in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: To possess God is to possess wisdom.

ASSIGNMENTS??️:

1. Go through the message again.

2. Refuse to do what does not please God.

3. Let the love and fear of God reflect on all you do.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE??: UNSTOPPABLE BY WISDOM (Part 3).

PRAYER??: Lord, give me a heart of love for You. Grant me access to the fountain of Your wisdom, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DAILY BIBLE READING?: Psalm 88-90

QUOTE: You cannot arrive in the land of wisdom until you have made the decision to be wise. Culled from “BE WISE AND RISE” by Dr Paul Enenche.

REFLECTION??: Wisdom does not begin until the Fear of the Lord is in place. What is it that you fear the most in life? Who do you want to please the most in life? Who do you love the most in life? Is it God? Then you can’t beg for Wisdom.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION/WORD?️?: Begin to experience a new wavelength of wisdom in this season in Jesus’ Name.

Good morning ??
