RE: Lady Calls Out Her Husband, Pius Angbo, A Staff Of Channels TV, For Beating Her - Edoman - 12-08-2020 Ena Ofugara Where Nigerians Miss The Point With Domestic Violence And “Settlement” Is suicide a crime? Why? Is someone taking cocaine into his own nostrils a reason to send him or her to jail? Why? In both instances, is it not their bodies and their lives? Is it your body the cocaine sniffer is sniffing the toxins into? Those supporting the hurried reconciliation between a BASTARD wife beater and his doctor wife he has been brutalizing for six years anchor their support for the reconciliation on the principle of “freedom of choice” and family unity and forgiveness etc. They say it is no business of ours if the woman chooses to go back into the home of the BASTARD that has been beating her. They say it is her body and her life. So how is it our business with arresting prostitutes? Why is prostitution a crime? Is it not the woman’s choice who to lie with and for what benefit? Why do the police harrass prostitutes? The legal basis and justification for prostitution, suicide, illicit drug taking etc being designated as crimes is that the SOCIAL EVOLUTION THEORY presupposes that man dropped his rights so society can PROTECT HIM EVEN FROM HIMSELF. So NO you cannot tie a rope to a tree and put it round your neck and say “mind your business. It is my life. Who even knows if I will die from the rope around my neck”? NO. It is six months jail term for attempted suicide. And those who assist someone to kill his or herself goes to jail for 6 or so years. I applying the same rule to the case at hand, this BASTARD has been beating his wife for 6 years and finally she cried for help. Instead of the society to heap oppobrium and vituperation and make him take the walk of shame, a governor decides to do a photo op of “reconciling the couple”. Africa is backward because of actions such as this. It will take foreigners to feed us because we refuse to have sense. 1. What has changed since the last beating that will ensure there is no repeat? 2. Was the man made to regret his action by taking a walk of shame or he was elevated and now walking with the governor 3. Did the woman’s words of “if I leave him, will you marry me” not show the same lack of self-worth exploited by BASTARDS who beat their wives? 4. Did the man go and receive treatment or therapy for anger management? Was he even handed to his pastor or Imam for two months training in love for wife as Jesus loved his church? But, the very next day, without even thinking of longterm solution to forestall repeat, they are thrown back together with the same issues extant. And despite the number of women murdered by their husbands, as well as women who snap and poison or stab their BASTARD husband to death... Despite the fact that this woman could DIE returning to this home without a verifiable and quantifiable change in circumstances and attitude... This woman is thrown back into the home... to collect more BEATINGS and ATTEMPTED MURDER from the BASTARD husband. The fact that DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS A CRIME bothers not the governor Ortom of Benue. He is OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE. The commissioner of police should be arresting and charging this BASTARD criminal for breaking the law of the land Instead Governor Ortom AIDS AND ABETS SUICIDE or its clear attempt by his hasty reconciliation, without requisite therapy or even psychiatric evaluation of the man. Society was formed to PROTECT PEOPLE EVEN FROM THEMSELVES. I cannot go to the market and go naked and take a knife to remove my “brocus”. Someone will attempt to stop me, if safe to do. Ortom and the rest of society have FAILED to protect this woman from herself... and her BASTARD husband. Now all we can do is pray and hope the BASTARD does not kill her before her next CRY FOR HELP RE: Lady Calls Out Her Husband, Pius Angbo, A Staff Of Channels TV, For Beating Her - Edoman - 12-11-2020 Benue First Lady leads walk against gender-based violence days after she and husband reconciled Pius Angbo and wife without making him face the consequences Benue State First Lady, Dr Mrs Eunice Ortom led a walk through the streets of Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to create awareness against gender-based violence in the state. She led the walk on Thursday, Dec 10, as part of activities to mark the closing ceremony of this year's 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence. The march ended at a hotel where a dissemination meeting was held. Speaking at the meeting, Dr Mrs Ortom warned that the people must not take the end of the 16 Days of Activism period as the end of the fight against gender-based violence. She added: "This is rather the time to build on the observations and experiences of the period in order to be more determined and committed to ending GBV in Benue State." This comes days after Dr. Eunice and her husband, Samuel Ortom, the Governor of Benue State, reconciled domestic violence victim, Dr. Ifeyinwa Angbo with her abusive husband, Pius Angbo. |
