One of the most enduring and iconic symbols of the United States, this world famous colossal neoclassical sculpture has been ruling New York Harbour for over 125 years. Designed and created by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, the Statue of Liberty is a national monument that represents freedom and democracy. A gift from France, the views of the Manhattan skyline, and if you are lucky enough to see it, the setting sun on the harbour, are fantastic. Particularly if you are viewing them from the observation deck. If you get a chance to check out nearby Ellis Island, where thousands of immigrants were processed, this is well worth a visit too.Arguably the most famous park in the world, Central Park is a National Historic Landmark that stretches for approximately 2.5 miles in length between 59th Street (Central Park South) and 100th Street (Central Park North) and about half a mile in width between Fifth Avenue and Central Park West. One of the biggest city parks in the world, it is a beautiful space replete with a vibrant landscape of lush grass, sturdy trees, pretty lakes, bridges, fountains, amphitheatres and even historical monuments. In addition it also has a network of extensive walking tracks and bridle paths, two ice-skating rinks (one of which is converted into a swimming pool during the height of the summer), the Central Park Zoo and also a wildlife sanctuary, the Central Park Conservatory Garden, the Belvedere Castle and the historic Carousel. Whilst the noise, colour and sheer thunder of confusion might not be to everyone's liking Time Square is somewhere everyone should visit. Located in Midtown Manhattan this major commercial intersection, a veritable neon jungle, is the site of the annual ball drop on New Year's Eve. The world's most visited tourist attraction, according to a 2011 survey in Travel + Leisure magazine, more than 39 million visitors pass through Time Square every year. Many people have never seen anything quite like it and most of them never forget it.Once the longest suspension bridge in the world the Brooklyn Bridge is another National Historic landmarks icons . Completed in 1883, it links Manhattan with Brooklyn over the East River. Spanning some 1,595.5 feet, a walk across the world's first steel-wire suspension bridge, provides fantastic views of the Manhattan Skyline and the surrounding area you simply can't find anywhere else in the city.
 
 
Another cultural icon, The Empire State buildings icons  has been called one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. An impressive Art Deco structure, which stood as the tallest building in the world for around 40 years, this 102-story skyscraper's position in Midtown Manhattan showcases sensational panoramic views of the whole of Manhattan, especially at night, from its observation deck on the 86th floor.
