Quote:Barcelona inform Luis Suárez that he has to leave the club

After Ronald Koeman’s appointment, FC Barcelona’s new coaching team have come up with a new formation for next season, and it does not include Luis Suárez. The club believes that it is time for him to leave considering his age and poor performances over the past few seasons, and has informed the Uruguayan striker that he must depart.

Earlier when Bartomeu named the players who are ‘untouchable’ at the club, the president excluded the Uruguayan in his list. Barça is ready to sell Suarez if a good offer arrives, with Ajax heavily interested in bringing their former star back to Amsterdam. Juventus are also willing to land the Uruguayan striker.

Even though Luis Suarez very recently became the club’s 3rd highest goal-scorer in history and has had some wonderful seasons at the Catalan club, today there is a consensus among fans that the 33-year-old is no longer good enough to get minutes on the field. Culés believe that it is time for him to step-off and look for a new career path.

Suárez, however, intends to stay and believes that he could still add a lot of value to the team. He will reject any incoming offers from various European clubs this summer and is clear about continuing with Barcelona. Whether Barcelona will terminate the player’s contract if no good offer arrives, remains unknown.

Lionel Messi Tells Ronald Koeman That He Does Not See His Future At Camp Nou

Lionel Messi met with FC Barcelona’s new coach Ronald Koeman to discuss the new sporting project.

The Argentine told Koeman that he does not see his future clearly at Barça and thinking of leaving more than staying, according to the reliable Rac1. However, Messi is aware that leaving this summer would be very difficult due to his contract.

Barcelona knows Messi’s intention is to possibly leave, but they maintain he is still under contract until 2021 and will not consider what he said to Koeman.

It turns out that the initial rumors about the Barcelona legend willing to leave his home club are true, and whether Barcelona is planning to keep him remains unknown.

Europa League final: Conte explains why Sevilla defeated Inter Milan 3-2

on
 August 22, 2020

Inter Milan coach, Antonio Conte, has disclosed that his side lost 3-2 to Sevilla in the Europa League final on Friday night because of Romelu Lukaku’s unfortunate own goal.

Conte explained that after Lukaku’s own goal, Inter Milan also missed an opportunity to score against Sevilla.

Lukaku opened the scoring for Antonio Conte’s side before Luuk de Jong equalized for Sevilla.
Luuk de Jong then scored for the La Liga side before Diego Godin levelled for the Serie A side to make it 2-2 at half-time.

However, Lukaku’s own goal in the 74th minute following Diego Carlos’s shot gave Sevilla their sixth Europa League trophy at the RheinEnergieStadion in Germany.

“It was a balanced match between the two teams, two very good teams indeed, one specific incident could have changed the balance of the game,” Conte told Sky Sport Italia.

“We had the opportunities to win the game in the second half, but then there was this unfortunate own goal.

“We had the opportunity to score again after that, but unfortunately that’s the way it ended.”

Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte, has admitted he may not be at the club next season.

Conte enjoyed a fine season with the Serie A side, finishing second in the league and runners-up in the Europa League.

Speaking to Sky Italia after a 3-2 defeat to Sevilla in Friday’s final, Conte hinted it might have been his last game in charge.

“We’re going to meet next week with the club and we’ll decide about my future. I’m not sure that I’ll be the Inter manager next season, we’ll decide together.

“Inter will plan the future with or without me,” he said.
Conte’s future has been in doubt since the Serie A season ended, after he criticized the club’s directors.

Champions League final: PSG are failures – Mourinho

 August 22, 2020

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, has labelled Paris Saint-Germain “failures” ahead of Sunday’s Champions League final.

PSG qualified for their first ever final, despite their complete domination of the French topflight.
Mourinho is not impressed that the Ligue 1 side who spent £340m on just Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, have not achieved much in the competition
“I think it is failure that they haven’t won it in the two seasons before.

“Because for five or six years, the investment is crazy, the list of top players that is there is incredible.

“For how many seasons, Thiago Silva is there, Marquinhos is there, and then all the big guys, Ibra [Zlatan Ibrahimovic], [Edinson] Cavani, Neymar, [Kylian] Mbappe,” Mourinho told DAZN.

PSG face Bayern Munich in the final.

Chelsea are close to agreeing a £50 million deal with Leicester City for Ben Chilwell, according to Sky Sports.

The two Premier League clubs have made progress in negotiations this week.

Although nothing has been signed yet, a deal is expected to be completed early next week.

Leicester have constantly made it clear they will not allow their players leave for low fees, and last summer, they made Manchester United pay £80m for Harry Maguire.

The former champions are not under pressure to sell, as Chilwell is under contract until 2024, but the situation could change if he wants to leave.
Chilwell is understood to be keen on the move with the opportunity for Champions League football at Chelsea

Koeman tells three senior Barcelona players to leave club

New Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, has decided that Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba will not be part of his first-team plans.

Koeman will inform the three senior players that they can leave, according to AS.

The 57-year-old replaced Quique Setien this week and is keen to sort out his squad ahead of preseason.
Barcelona is looking to overhaul the team and president, Josep Bartomeu, has named just seven ‘untouchable’ players in the first team.

They are Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Frenkie de Jong, Clement Lenglet and Nelson Semedo, while big-money flops Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele will also be given another chance to turn their Camp Nou careers around.

Koeman is believed to have added Gerard Pique to that list, as he views the defender as a central part of his backline.

The Dutchman however wants to offload Suarez, Busquets and Alba, who are all over the age of 30.

Juventus have decided to terminate the contracts of Gonzalo Higuaín and Sami Khedira.

New Juventus, manager, Andrea Pirlo, has not included Higuain and Khedira in his plans for next season.

This was revealed by respected Italian sports journalist, Fabrizio Romano, via his Twitter handle on Friday night.

Romano tweeted: “After Matuidi deal with Inter Miami completed for free, Juventus have also decided to terminate contracts of Higuain and Khedira. They’re out of the Pirlo project.

“Talks on to find an agreement on the payout (both have still 1year contract left with Juve).”

DAILY POST had reported that both Higuain and Khedira are among the six players Pirlo put up for sale this summer.

Barcelona board members want Messi to leave after Koeman meeting

on
 August 22, 2020

Some members of the Barcelona board are not against Lionel Messi leaving the club, ESPN reports.
Although some are hoping to persuade the 32-year-old to stay, others would not fight against Messi being sold under the right circumstances.

Messi is believed to have met new manager, Ronald Koeman this week and admitted he sees himself more out than in at Camp Nou.

Koeman himself is keen to keep the player and build his team around him.

But the Argentine superstar is considering his future at the club, after a series of events in the last year, including bust-ups with former sporting director, Eric Abidal.

On the pitch, Champions League exits against Roma and Liverpool have been followed by a first trophyless season since 2007/2008, with the shameful 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich topping everything off.

Messi’s doubts about his future have generated an internal debate among the board.

Some directors would be prepared to listen to offers that would allow Koeman to reconstruct the team and at the same time reduce the wage bill.

Champions League group draw seeds confirmed after Sevilla win Europa League

on
 August 22, 2020
[Image: Champions-League.jpg]

Sevilla have secured a spot among the seeded teams for the 2020/2021 Champions League group-stage draw, following their 3-2 victory over Inter Milan in the Europa League final.

The LaLiga side will be in Pot 1 along with Real Madrid, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Zenit St Petersburg. FC Porto join them, as either Bayern and PSG will be the Champions League holders.

The draw will take place on Thursday, October 1, with the first group-stage fixtures on Tuesday, October 20.

The other pots are usually ranked based on UEFA’s five-year coefficient of performance in European competition.

One place is yet to be determined in Pot 2 and will go to Benfica if they come through qualifying. Or else Ajax will be promoted from their probable slot in Pot 3.
Pot 1: Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Sevilla, PSG, Juventus, FC Porto, Zenit St Petersburg
Pot 2: Barcelona, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester City, Atletico Madrid, Shakhtar Donetsk, Chelsea, Benfica or Ajax

The remaining two pots will depend on which teams come through the qualifying rounds.

However, automatic qualifiers RB Leipzig, Inter Milan and Lazio will be in Pot 3. Dynamo Kiev, FC Salzburg, Olympiakos and Celtic will join them should they qualify.

Stade Rennes and Istanbul Basaksehir are assured of being in Pot 4, while Atalanta, Lokomotiv Moscow, Marseille, Club Brugge and Borussia Monchengladbach could also be in the lowest-ranked pot.

Messi angry with Barcelona as board members want him sold

[Image: skysports-lionel-messi-barcelona_4256290.jpg]

Lionel Messi is angry with Barcelona, after details of his meeting with new manager Ronald Koeman was made public, Clarin reports.

The 32-year-old cut short his holiday to meet with Koeman on Thursday.

He is believed to have told the new boss that he is considering leaving the Camp Nou.

But Messi is furious by the source of the leak, Catalan radio station RAC1, who have regularly backed under-fire president Josep Bartomeu.

The claims coincide with reports that some Barcelona board want Messi to leave the club. It is understood that at least one high-ranking member thinks a a shock sale would be best for all involved.

Koeman has already made it clear that he sees Messi as an integral part of his rebuilding project, which will start with several notable departures.

Further talks between Messi and Koeman are scheduled to take place imminently and the members of the board who want the club’s record goalscorer to remain are said to be relaxed about the situation.

Jadon Sancho breaks silence over Man Utd interest

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho has finally spoken out on the speculation surrounding his future, as Manchester United continue their bid to sign him this summer.

United have missed an August 19 deadline set by the Bundesliga outfit to complete a transfer.

However, the Red Devils are still interested in Sancho, who is Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s priority ahead of the new season.

“I try not to look at the media because I think once you start looking at all that it would be easy to get carried away with it,” Sancho told Soccerbible.

“It can affect players. For me it’s about not looking at those things and just focusing on trying to do the best I can on the pitch. Especially in training.

“I don’t really look at all the noise and all that stuff. I’d rather keep my head down, keep focus and improve every day.”

Luis Suarez wants to talk with Barcelona’s Bartomeu over his future at Camp Nou

on
 August 22, 2020
[Image: Luis-Suarez.jpg]

Barcelona striker, Luis Suarez, has called on the club’s president, Josep Bartomeu, to provide him clarity over his future at Camp Nou.

Suarez’s future at Barcelona is uncertain, following the club’s disastrous 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League last week.

Barcelona had put the Uruguay international up for sale with some other senior players after their exit from the Champions League.

Speaking on the development, Suarez, who has just 12 months left on his current contract, demanded to speak with Bartomeu directly, adding that he has spent six years at Barca.

“There is talk of some names that the president gave, of changes that can be made, but nobody told me that they want to do without me,” the 33-year-old was quoted by Metro UK as saying.

“If this is the desire of the club, it would be good if the person in charge that he chooses speaks directly with me.

“I have been six years in Barca, enough time to say what they think. Better so, filter if I’m one of those to leave.

“It remains to be seen. I also want the best for the club and my idea today is to continue, but if the club thinks I am expendable, I’ve no problem talking to those who decide. ”

“As long as I’m counted on, I want to continue contributing everything I can.

“I have no problem helping with the role they give me. I think I can still contribute a lot to this club.”

Chelsea owner, Abramovich approves £150m to sign Chilwell, two others

on
 August 22, 2020
[Image: Ben-Chilwell.jpg]

Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has approved £150 million in transfer fees for the club’s director, Marina Granovskaia, to sign Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell, Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz and West Ham United’s Declan Rice this summer, according to the Express UK.

Chelsea has already spent £80 million to sign Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech from RB Leipzig and Ajax respectively but the Blues manager, Frank Lampard, is desperate to continue spending after guiding the West London club to a fourth-place finish in the 2019/20 Premier League season.

Chilwell, Havertz and Rice have repeatedly been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this summer transfer window.

Chelsea is already closing a deal for Chilwell worth a reported £50 million.

Chilwell has been Lampard’s top target this summer, and it appears Chelsea have managed to convince Leicester City to sell the full-back.

Havertz is another long-running transfer saga for Chelsea with Granovskaia struggling to come to terms with Bayer Leverkusen over a fee for the 21-year-old Germany international.

Rice has also drawn the interest of Lampard with the Blues boss keen to test him out at centre-back, but West Ham have put a £70m price tag on the England youngster.

Quote:Jesus Navas Dedicates Europa Title To Reyes And Puerta

Jesus Navas dedicated Sevilla's sixth Europa League title to former players Jose Antonio Reyes and Antonio Puerta.

Reyes was killed in a car crash last year at the age of 35, while Puerta was 22 when he died in 2007 after a series of cardiac arrests.

After Friday's 3-2 win over Inter Milan, Navas said: "To raise this cup as captain of my Sevilla means so much.

"For friends who are no longer here - for Puerta, for Reyes, and for my godfather who has died."

Reyes came through the youth system at Sevilla and made 253 appearances in two spells at the club. He also had a spell in the Premier League with Arsenal from 2004 until 2007.

Puerta also came through the ranks before making his debut in the 2003-04 season and went on to make 88 appearances.

"I hope Sevilla fans are proud of us," added Navas. "We all lift the trophy because we are all captains."

Former Manchester City winger Navas was part of the Sevilla side that won the trophy for the first time back in 2006.

He helped them win it again the following year and played a crucial role in their latest win, providing the assist for Luuk de Jong's equaliser after Inter had taken the lead through Romelu Lukaku.

De Jong struck again to give Sevilla the lead before Diego Godin equalised.

However, Diego Carlos' late effort was deflected into his own net by Lukaku to seal victory for Sevilla.

It was also Julen Lopetegui's first trophy as a manager.

The 53-year-old had been sacked as Spain coach on the eve of the 2018 World Cup and later that same year he lasted just 14 games as Real Madrid boss.

"Lopetegui works 24 hours a day for Sevilla, he deserves this," Navas said.

Lopetegui added: "It is very special. Always it is very special to win one cup. For us, for me, for the fans it is very special. We have a happy end."

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, did not enter the dressing room or speak to his players after they were dumped out of the Champions League last week.
City were beaten 3-1 by Lyon, after conceding two late Moussa Dembele goals.

Kevin De Bruyne had earlier cancelled out Maxwell Cornet’s opener.

The defeat meant City were eliminated from the quarter-final stage for a third season in a row, having emerged big favourites during the mini-tournament in Lisbon.

City defender, Aleksander Zinchenko, has now opened up on Guardiola’s reaction after the full-time whistle.
Zincheko told his partner, Vlada Seden, on her YouTube channel: “Guardiola didn’t even enter the locker room, and didn’t say a word after the match. What is there to say, if everything is clear?

“It’s a shame for David Silva and Claudio Bravo – they played their last match for Manchester City. We wanted to win first of all for them.”

Quote:Barcelona Will Demand £631 Millions Release Clause For Lionel Messi

Barcelona are reportedly going to demand that clubs must pay Lionel Messi's £631million release clause should he hand in a transfer request.

The attacker's future at the LaLiga giants has been thrown into serious doubt after the club performed poorly on the pitch last season and have made massive personnel changes off the field.

There have been links with the six-time Balon d'Or winner and some of Europe's elite but even if he wanted to leave the Nou Camp this summer with one year left on his deal, it could prove tricky for him.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club will tell Messi that he can only leave if a club is willing to pay his monstrous £631million release clause or he will be staying put.

The asking price is simply too much for any club in world football to afford, as it would accumulate to more than triple the highest fee ever paid for a footballer by PSG for Neymar in 2017.

If Barcelona were to budge on their outrageous £631million asking price, then there are plenty of clubs exploring the option of signing the 33-year-old.

Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Juventus, Manchester United and Manchester City, managed by Messi's former boss Pep Guardiola, have all reportedly thrown their hat in the ring should the Argentine become available.
Messi has reportedly now held talks with new Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman to discuss his future after it was revealed that he was 'more out than in' at the club.

According to Spanish outlet Sport, each of the aforementioned clubs would have enough pulling power to attract Messi should he leave Spain - but his price would prove to be a massive obstacle.

The attacker cut his holiday short to return and hold talks with Koeman, after manager Quique Setien was sacked following their embarrassing 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

Argentinian outlets reported that Messi was left furious after the fact he held a meeting with the new boss became public.

Koeman opened up about Messi's situation and said: 'He's still got a contract and is still a Barcelona player. At this point I need to speak to him because he is the captain.

'We need to work with him and speak with various players. We need to make some decisions but in Messi's case I hope he stays with us.

'I don't know if I have to convince Messi [to stay], whether it's that or not. He is the best player in the world and the best player in the world you want in your team, you don't want him playing against you.

'As a coach I would love to work with Messi because he wins matches. If he's at the ability and level he has always shown I'd be more than happy for him to stay.

Barcelona captain Lionel Messi, could be bought by PSG, Inter Milan or Juventus, as reports continue to linger that the Barcelona football legend wants to leave the club after a disappointing trophyless campaign with the club.

According to reports, Messi, 33, reportedly met with new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, with rumours circulating that Messi is more 'out than in' at the La Liga giants.

According to a report by Spanish news outlet Sport, PSG, Inter and Juventus are prepared to make offers for Messi and it could be a world-record deal.

The report says each club has enough financial power to attract Messi's high-profile signature should he decide to move away from Barcelona.

The report goes on to say that Inter Milan have an advantage as footballers pay less tax in Italy, while the Serie A club could also use reported Barcelona target Lautaro Martinez as makeweight in a potential offer.

Juventus bosses could also see the possibility of uniting Messi with archrival Cristiano Ronaldo, although that move could pose financial problems for the club.

As for French club, PSG, who made the shock move for ex-Barcelona man Neymar back in 2017, the Ligue 1 club's Qatari owners could unite Messi and Neymar once more at PSG.
