FA Cup final: Pulisic warns Chelsea team-mates about one Arsenal player

Chelsea winger, Christian Pulisic, has told his team-mates to be wary of Arsenal captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Both sides come face to face on Saturday in this year’s FA Cup final.


Aubameyang is in a rich vein of form, having netted 27 times for the Gunners, including a brace in the semi-final win over Manchester City.


Pulisic played alongside the Gabon striker at Borussia Dortmund and knows all about his quality.


“I know him quite well. He is incredible, the way he gets in good areas. He’s always dangerous, so we are definitely going to have to be cautious of that, and they have some other good players. But he is definitely one guy that you have to look out for.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: Fabregas picks winner of FA Cup final

Cesc Fabregas has admitted he would rather see Arsenal win the FA Cup instead of Chelsea.
Fabregas played for both Premier League teams and won the FA Cup with Arsenal in 2005 and the same trophy with Chelsea in 2018.


The Blues defeated the Gunners in the 2019 Europa League final.


Arsenal last won a trophy in 2017, when they beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley to win the FA Cup.

The trophy was their third major honour of the decade, a period in which Chelsea won 11 cups and Fabregas feels the North London side needs silverware more.
“Arsenal need it more. Chelsea basically every year has won a trophy, so it’s a different animal in this case.

“In terms of trophies, Arsenal needs it more and for confidence for next year and getting into Europe. Chelsea are in the Champions League and Arsenal has nothing at the moment,” Fabregas told the Daily Telegraph

Russian billionaire and Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich is set to get richer, as he has agreed to sell his gold mine in a deal said to be worth £1billion.
 
Abramovich, whose financial worth reduced this year due to the covid-19 pandemic, has agreed to sell his stake in Highland Gold Mining Ltd to Fortiana Holdings Ltd, according to Bloomberg.
 
The gold market is enjoying a resurgence amid the pandemic and the 53-year-old who is currently valued at around $12billion (£9m) by Forbes, will now sell his 40 per cent stake in Highland Gold, in which he was a shareholder for many years.
 
Fortiana Holdings Limited, a Cyprus-registered company of Russian businessman Vladislav Sviblov, agreed to buy 145,759,871 shares in Highland Gold from Abramovich and his partners at £3.00 per share.

Highland Gold is one of the top ten gold producers in Russia with several mines in Russia's Far East.
 
The offer is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2020.
 
 Chelsea have won 16 trophies since Abramovich bought the club.

Premier league champions Liverpool release new jerseys for 2020-21 season (photos)

After winning their first ever Premier League title in style, Liverpool will begin next season as newly-crowned champions with a brand-new kit produced by clothing giants, Nike.
 
Nike took over the new kit deal from previous suppliers New Balance, whose deal expired on July 31.

The Jersey will be first won in the community shield clash between Liverpool and either Chelsea or Arsenal- depending on who wins the FA cup.

The five-year agreement with New Balance was set to expire on June 1, but due to Covid-19 disrupting the season and delaying the final games of the season, Nike's partnership with the club will now begin on August 1.

Arsenal defeats Chelsea FC 2-1 to win FA Cup

Mikel Arteta’s side came from behind to win 2-1 in a game that rounds off a domestic season like no other.



Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice after Christian Pulisic had put Frank Lampard’s men in front.
Chelsea’s Mateo Kovacic was sent off after what proved to be Arsenal’s winner for two bookable offences.


Arsenal’s tally of FA Cup wins now stands at 14 – more than any other English club.


It is their fourth FA Cup in seven seasons and secures Europa League participation next season.


Arteta has now won the competition as both Arsenal captain and manager.


Football fans will still be able to enjoy the resumption of the Champions League and Europa League before the Premier League – which was won this season by Liverpool – resumes in mid-September.


The likelihood is fans will not be back in stadiums by then.

FA Cup final: How Arsenal’s win affects European places for Leicester, Tottenham

Arsenal on Saturday won their 14th FA Cup.
The Gunners beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley, fighting back from a Christian Pulisic goal.


Manager Mikel Arteta had his talismanic captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, to thank as he scored twice like he did in the semi-final against Manchester City.


With this win, Arsenal go straight to the group stages of next season’s Europa League.


They will be joined by Leicester City who finished fifth in the Premier League.

However, Tottenham Hotspur who ended up in sixth place, will enter in the third qualifying round on September 24.


Jose Mourinho’s men must play three one-off games to reach the group stages.

FA Cup final: Lampard reveals why Chelsea lost to Arsenal

Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, has blamed injuries, loss of concentration and for their 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday.


The Blues took the lead after Christian Pulisic capitalized on slack defending to make it 1-0.


However, the Gunners were level before the break, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang levelled from the penalty spot.


Aubameyang netted the winner in the second half, after dribbling past Kurt Zouma to lift the ball over Willy Caballero.

“We had a great start, control of the game but at that point we started getting sloppy and not ramming it home. We got slower in our game, changed the tone of it.”

“Certain circumstances conspired against us in the game,” Lampard told reporters after the game.


On Aubameyang, Lampard said: “He scores two goals, one being a penalty which he earned. We were clear of the threat of long-balls in behind you and that was a frustrating part of the game [as we worked on it].”


Lampard speaking on injuries, added: “Two hamstrings, dislocated shoulder, Willian was injured yesterday, Kante not fit, really. Ruben Loftus-Cheek out.”

Immobile beats Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, wins European Golden Shoe

Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile, has won the European Golden Shoe award for this season.


Immobile was confirmed as winner, after Juventus manage,r Maurizio Sarri chose to rest Cristiano Ronaldo out of his squad for their final Serie A clash.
This is the first time that the Italian striker has won the award.


He takes it from Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, who netted 36 goals in the 2019/2020 campaign.
Immobile scored 36 goals in Serie A this season, five more than Ronaldo.

He finished the campaign with a record-equalling 36 goals in Serie A, after he found back of the net in their 2-1 defeat at Napoli on Saturday night.

Arsenal to play Liverpool in Community Shield after winning FA Cup

Arsenal will take on Liverpool in the Community Shield on August 29.


This follows their 2-1 win over Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday.


The Reds have booked their place in the Shield game by emerging Premier League champions for the first time in 30 years.


In 2019, they took part due to Manchester City winning both the league and the FA Cup.


Liverpool have lifted the Community Shield 15 times in their history, with the last coming in 2006.

They are currently tied with Arsenal for the second-most wins in the trophy’s history, with United the only side to win it more times (21).

Jurgen Klopp’s men will then begin their Premier League defence on the weekend of September 12.

Champions League: Three key Chelsea players to miss Bayern Munich second leg

Chelsea will be without Christian Pulisic and Cesar Azpilicueta for their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, after limping off in Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal with hamstring issues.


Azpilicueta pulled up five minutes after giving away a penalty, that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted to make it 1-1 following Pulisic’s opener.


Pulisic himself then succumbed to the same injury just four minutes after the break.


Towards the end of the game, Pedro suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder.

FA Cup final: Arteta thanks Guardiola after Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Chelsea

Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta, has thanked Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola for his part in moulding him as a manager after the Gunners’ FA Cup final 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday.


Arsenal defeated Chelsea at Wembley, thanks to a brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.


Christian Pulisic did score for Frank Lampard’s side.
Arteta was Guardiola’s assistant at Man City for three years, learning from one of the best coaches in world football, before replacing Unai Emery at Arsenal last December.

Speaking after winning his first trophy as Arsenal manager, Arteta was quick to give thanks to Guardiola.
“I miss my family so much they have been all the way with me,” Arteta told BT Sport.

“Thank you, as well. I have to thank Pep in a very big way because I am a manager in a big part to him so I think I have to consider that as well.”

Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri, has hit out at his players, over their “mental decline” after they won the Serie A title.


The Italian champions finished their league campaign with a 3-1 defeat to Roma on Saturday night.


It saw a 39-match unbeaten home run dating back to April 2018 coming to an end.


Juve were crowned champions for the ninth straight season, despite winning just two of their final eight league matches and Sarri claims his team dropped off after beating Lazio on July 20.

“A little fear can do us good. After Lazio we felt the championship was won and we had a mental decline,” Sarri told Sky Sport Italia.

WWE twins and reality stars, Brie and Nikki Bella, who both announced they were pregnant in January, gave birth this weekend a day apart.
 
The stars of “Total Bellas” made the announcements on Instagram on Sunday evening, August 2. 
 
Brie gave birth on Saturday to a son, her second child with professional wrestler husband Daniel Bryan, The couple already have a 3-year-old daughter.
 
Sharing a photo of a baby clutching his dad’s finger, Brie wrote: It’s a BOY!!! 8-1-2020. We are overwhelmed with joy and everyone is healthy!!!”
 

 
An hour after her twin sister's announcement, Nikki posted her own update, that she too delivered a baby boy on Friday, her first with her fiancé, pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev.
 
“7/31/2020 Our baby boy is here and we couldn’t be HAPPIER and more in LOVE! Everyone is safe and healthy.,” she wrote, accompanying a similar photo of her own child.

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes was on Sunday visited by UK police officers after he threw an illegal house party on Friday July 31 for his son Arron, in Oldham, a Covid crisis area.
 
Police visited his £3.5million mansion after The Sun newspapers posted pictures on Sunday August 2, showing the crowded party he organized, flouting social distancing rules.
 
 His son Arron was celebrating his 21st birthday and each party guest could have been fined £100 by police  as indoor social visits have been banned across the UK over a spike in Covid-19 cases.

In photos published by the Sun UK, the former Manchester United midfielder Scholes, 45, posed in a “Lockdown Live” T-shirt with DJ Zac Caulcutt, while dozens of youngsters could be seen ignoring social distancing rules.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson buys XFL from WWE in $15m deal with partner

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has bought the XFL from WWE for $15m, in partnership with an investing firm. 
 
The XFL is a professional American football league in the United States. Consisting of eight teams divided equally between an East and West division, the league was the successor to the original XFL, which was controlled by Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) and NBC. 
 
Johnson, an actor and producer who played college football at the University of Miami, teamed up with Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital to buy the league just hours before a planned auction was scheduled to begin.
 
The pair will split ownership along with Johnson’s ex-wife, Dany Garcia who is also his business partner. According to a court filing, this was the only qualified bid. 


The transaction is subject to bankruptcy court approval at a hearing this Friday, August 7 and, assuming that closing conditions are satisfied, is expected to close on or shortly after August 21.
 
Dwayne Johnson said in a press release;

Mauricio Pochettino in shocking move to Barcelona

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Mauricio Pochettino will likely join Barcelona as their new coach this summer.


Daily Mail reports that Barcelona chiefs have made the Argentine their number one top target to replace current manager, Quique Setien after the former Spurs boss backtracked on comments he made stating he would instead work on his farm than for Barca.


Barcelona have been linked with a move to sign Pochettino in the past few weeks after Setien failed to win the 2019/20 LaLiga title ahead of Real Madrid.

Pochettino has also attracted interest from Monaco, Newcastle United and Juventus in the past.
The 48-year-old remains desperate to secure an imminent return to the Premier League.

He is waiting for the right opportunity to return to club management after he was sacked by Tottenham last November.

Jadon Sancho: Dortmund gives Man Utd 7 days to complete deal

Borussia Dortmund have given Manchester United a one-week ultimatum, to wrap up a deal for Jadon Sancho.


Both clubs are still negotiating for the England winger, the UK Mirror reports.


However, the Bundesliga outfit have set an August 10 deadline, to decide Sancho’s future, before they head to their Swiss pre-season training camp.


United executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward, had initially been keen to agree a fee closer to £80million, but Dortmund are insisting their £105million valuation is met.

Woodward will now look to structure instalmental payments with Dortmund.


Sancho remains United’s No.1 target this and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tasked club bosses with getting a deal done as soon as possible.

Chelsea winger, Willian, is edging closer to the exit door, after rejecting the club’s latest offer to sign a new two-year contract.


The Brazil midfielder has now held talks with London rivals, Arsenal, according to the UK Guardian.
The Gunners are believed to be ready to meet his demands for a three-year deal.


Arsenal were reportedly ready to offer Willian a £250,000-a-week contract before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.


Willian is also keen on a move to the Emirates, as he is settled in the capital with his family.

The 31-year-old is increasingly likely to leave after the second leg of the last-16 Champions League tie against Bayern Munich on Saturday.

Arsenal’s prize money for defeating Chelsea in FA Cup final revealed

Last Saturday, Arsenal finished the 2019/2020 campaign with silverware, after beating Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup final.

It will see the Gunners earn a total of £3.6 million prize money, excluding the money earned for victories in earlier rounds.


They will also earn £2.6 million just for entering the Europa League group stage.


Arsenal expect to get a further £7.5million of gate receipts expected, if their fans are able to enter the Emirates for those three Europa League group games.

Aside from the guaranteed money, Mikel Arteta’s men could earn a further £900k for each win in the group stage, giving them a maximum income of £5.4m in additional revenue.


The Gunners will also be paid a £900k bonus for topping the group, £450k for reaching the Round of 32, £990k for reaching the Round of 16 and £1.3m for playing in the quarter-finals.


These payments increase to £2.1m for the semi-finals with the winners netting a cool £7.6 million.

That means Arsenal have a potential of £41m of Europa League earnings.


Some of that money will be redirected to players in the form of bonuses and a reduction in the 12.5% pay cut they previously agreed.
