Alao-Akala dumps his opposition coalition and aligns with APC after receiving a call - Edoman - 03-02-2019 Alao-Akala dumps his opposition coalition and aligns with APC after receiving a call from the Presidency The former Governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, on Friday said he was no longer part of the alliance formed by leading opposition parties in Oyo State to oust the ruling All Progressives Congress in the state. Alao-Akala, who admitted that he initiated alliance with the main opposition parties in the state with the aim of defeating the APC, however, said based on a call he received from the Presidency, he had agreed to support the candidate of the APC, Adebayo Adelabu, in the March 9 governorship election. He said the move would enable them to form a coalition government in the state. The ex-governor said he remained in the Action Democratic Party, where he is the governorship candidate, and that he would give his full support to all the ADP’s candidates for the House of Assembly seats in the forthcoming election.
