Bitcoin, the original and biggest cryptocurrency, has gained over 10 percent since Wednesday. The No.2 coin by market capitalisation Ethereum has gained 21 percent in the same period, with No.3 coin Ripple’s XRP gaining 9.5 percent. Six consecutive days of gains is a rarity for bitcoin that it last saw in July – a bright patch during 2018 when bitcoin’s value crashed by three-quarters. Prices have not recovered since, with bitcoin trading at between $3,000-$4,000 this year.
