Osun Decides: PDP Speaks On Adeleke Withdrawing From Governorship Race - Edoman - 09-22-2018 The Osun State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Soji Adagunodo, on Friday said the party’s governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, was still in the race. He said this during a media briefing in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Friday. According to him, there was a text message being circulated that Adeleke had withdrawn from contesting the election. He stated that the information was completely false and was intended to dissuade electorate from casting their votes for Adeleke. Adagunodo said, “There is a text message going around. It is a tactic by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party to discourage voters from coming out to vote or to use it to curry sympathy or to make people feel that he is the one running now. “Our candidate has never merged or stepped down for anybody. We are not even discussing such. “We are the main candidate. Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is contesting and he is going to win the election. “There is no merger and no withdrawal in any form.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/09/osun-decides-pdp-speaks-on-adeleke.html RE: Osun Decides: PDP Speaks On Adeleke Withdrawing From Governorship Race - Edoman - 09-22-2018 INEC: Osun Election Will Be Role Model For 2019 Polls The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it is fully ready to make the governorship election in Osun a “role model” for the 2019 polls. Olusegun Agbaje, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state said this during a press conference at the INEC headquarters in Osogbo. Agbaje said the commission would run simultaneous accreditation and voting between 8am and 2pm on Saturday of the Osun election. He, however, refuted the ban on use of mobile phones and cameras on election day at the polling unit. He said: “What INEC said is that voters should not carry their phones or other camera devices to the voting cubicles where the voter will mark the ballot, to safeguard the secrecy of the ballot.” He also added that the commission has no plans to give uncollected PVCs to any political party as being speculated. "Let me therefore reiterate for the umpteenth time that INEC will exhibit the highest level of transparency, integrity and impartiality while availing all the 48 political parties that have nominated candidates equal opportunity to participate in a level playing field during the Osun State governorship election,” he said. He urged journalists covering the election to be credible in their reportage, noting the commission would be free and fair in the discharge of its duty. Agbaje also warned politicians and political parties participating in the election against inducing voters with money. According to Agbaje, the commission has perfected plans with security agencies to deal decisively with any one engaging in the notorious act of "see and buy”. He also noted that INEC is fully ready to make the Saturday Osun gubernatorial election a "role model" for other elections in 2019. He said a total of 1,682,495 were registered as eligible voters in Osun State, stating that all the card readers deployed for the poll had already been configured. 16,000 ad hoc staff have been deployed for the smooth conduct of the election and sensitive materials deployed for the election are being tracked to their respective destinations in the 30 LGAs. He said: "Let me use this opportunity once again to reassure the people of Osun state, other Nigerians and the international community that INEC is more than even before determined to conduct a free, fair, credible and acceptable election that will meet the aspirations of all and sundry.” https://www.akelicious.net/2018/09/inec-osun-election-will-be-role-model.html RE: Osun Decides: PDP Speaks On Adeleke Withdrawing From Governorship Race - Edoman - 09-22-2018 Quote:#osundecides: APC Candidate, Gheyega Oyetola Casts His Vote (photos) Source:http://www.ngyab.com/2018/09/22/osundecides-apc-candidate-gheyega-oyetola-casts-his-vote-photos/ RE: Osun Decides: PDP Speaks On Adeleke Withdrawing From Governorship Race - Edoman - 09-22-2018 SDP Governorship Aspirant, Sen. The party said the APC was planning to buy votes with billions of Naira in order to manipulate the people to vote for the ruling party’s candidate, Gboyega Oyetola. The PDP also denied that its candidate in the election, Senator Ademola Adeleke, was collecting bank details of the electorate through a WhatsApp number in order to buy their votes. Speaking with journalists at the party’s secretariat on Friday, the PDP Chairman in Osun State, Soji Adagunodo, noted that the party had detected several means through which the APC wanted to rig the election. Adagunodo said, “We wish to alert the general public to the planned monetisation of the Osun State governorship election, especially the voting process, by the APC. “Towards this ignoble end, several helicopters loaded with cash were flown into the Government House between the hours of 4pm and 8pmon Thursday. “The money, which we were reliably informed about run into billions of naira, was contributed by state governors elected on the platform of the APC to enable the party to induce voters at various polling units. “In addition, each of the 67 local government council development areas in Osun State was made to cough up N12.5m for the same purpose. “The plan of the APC, as gathered from very credible sources, was to buy votes with a sum ranging from N5,000 to N10,000 each at the polling units. “It is quite unfortunate that a government which did not find it compelling to pay salaries and allowances of its workforce for 34 months could resort to attempting to buy the conscience of voters in this election.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/09/osun-decides-apc-flies-cash-loaded.html RE: Osun Decides: PDP Speaks On Adeleke Withdrawing From Governorship Race - Edoman - 09-22-2018 Quote:PDP Agents Caught With Cash And Bag Of Rice In Osun Governorship ElectionUPDATE: PDP agents in the ongoing osun state election caught in iwo town by men of the Nigeria police with ₦604k cash!
