TOPIC: THE ACTIVE WORD FROM GOD


...It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God (Luke 4:4).


The verse above is the Master’s response to one of Satan’s temptations, and it gives a most remarkable insight on how to use the Word. What Jesus actually said is that man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word (rhema in Greek) of God. 


He wasn’t referring to the Logos of God, which is the whole body of truth; the revealed Word of God that expresses His thoughts, character, plans, purposes and personality. But “rhema,” on the other hand, is the spoken and active Word from God to a specific person, for a specific purpose, at a specific time.


Even though something is written in the Scripture, you may not be able to live by it if you don’t know it or if you don’t personalise it, being addressed to you. What you have in Scripture is the Logos of God, the entire body of truth, but you live by every word of that Logos that’s addressed to you in the “now” of your life, or every word that the Spirit of God ministers to you for you.


This is the reason prophecy is important. When you receive a prophetic word, it blesses you because it’s what you need for the moment. For example, you may be in a precarious situation and suddenly, you receive a word from the Lord saying, “…lo, I am with you always…” (Matthew 28:20).


Now, those words were written in the Scriptures long ago, but it becomes “rhema” when the Spirit of God brings it to you in the now of your life in whatever situation you’re in. As brief as those words are, they’re loaded, and reaffirm God’s commitment to you. He’s with you, and for that reason, you have it made; you’re energized, strengthened and inspired to win! Hallelujah!


PRAYER

Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for your spoken and active word that comes to me through your Spirit as I study and meditate on the divine truths in the Scriptures. Your Word puts me over and above all situations and causes me to excel in everything, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

The eyes of my understanding are enlightened with the revelations of God’s Word. I am synchronized with the Spirit, knowing and walking in God’s perfect will for me. 


Through God’s Spirit, I walk worthy of Him unto all pleasing, fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God’s Word. I am far removed from the corruptive influences of this world.


I am seated together with Christ in the place of power; far above all principalities, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world but also in that which is to come. 


I live in dominion over sin, sickness and infirmities, and every opposing force, accusation, or hindrance. Hallelujah. The Lord has sent His angels before me to minister for me daily! 


As I affirm the Word, they’re dispatched to establish the words of my mouth and ensure that the words that I speak do not come back to me void. I am never alone because the host of heaven is with me always! Glory to God.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

THEME: THE NEW MAN
 
 MEMORISE:

Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 
 
 READ: John 3:1-5

1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
 
 MESSAGE:

God is the ultimate planner; He is the greatest architect and the creator of all. He already planned for everything and everyone even before he put the universe together. No wonder He told Jeremiah that He knew him even before he formed him (Jeremiah 1:4-5).

God had a beautiful plan for His creation unfortunately, when man sinned, the plan became distorted. Being the Almighty, God decided in His infinite mercy, to restore man to Himself, just like the potter did in the interesting story in Jeremiah 18:1-4. I prophesy to you: God’s original purpose for your life shall be restored today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

There is nobody God cannot restore, as long as the person is willing and obedient. In 1Timothy 1:15, Apostle Paul referred to himself as a 'Chief sinner', yet God counted him worthy to experience the wonder of becoming a new creature as stated in today's memory verse.

Like Jesus told Nicodemus that he had to be born again if he would see the kingdom of God, you also must be born again if you would become a new man.
John 3:6 says
 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

Thus, the second Adam - Jesus must form in you if you would experience the new birth that produces the new man. You must surrender your life to Him totally so He can recreate and restore His beautiful plans for you that have been distorted by sin and the evil one. Acts3:19 says:
“Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

As you forsake the life of sin today, you will experience a great and positive turnaround in every sphere of your life, in the mighty name of Jesus.
 
PRAYER POINT:

Father, please restore all Your plans for my life that the enemies or sin have distorted, in the mighty name of Jesus.

 *TOPIC: POTENTIALS; DOORWAY TO PROMINENCE AND EMINENCE* 
 
?️Your life becomes eminent by the release of your potential.  

 *SCRIPTURE* ?: For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey. Matthew 25:14-15.

 *THOUGHT FOR THE DAY* ?: Your life becomes eminent by the release of your potential.  

In our previous study, we saw the benefits of deploying our potential. We saw that Potential is vehicle for destiny; Potential is cure for limitations in life and destiny; Potential is trigger for opportunity and destiny fulfilment.

 *Today, we shall be looking at key thoughts on releasing potential:* 

 *1. The release of potential is doorway to prominence and eminence* . 

Your destiny assumes prominence by the release of your potential. Your life becomes eminent by the release of potential.  Joseph, David and Daniel, all became eminent and prominent by the release of their potentials (Gen. 41:37-44, 1 Samuel 16:18-21, Dan. 2:46-48).  

 *2. When potentials are released, provisions are accessed* .  

Nebuchadnezzar, the King of Babylon gave Daniel great gifts after Daniel interpreted his nightmarish dream (Daniel 2:48). Nebuchadnezzar made him ruler over the whole province of Babylon. 

When Joseph interpreted the dream of Pharaoh, Pharaoh took off his signet ring and put it on Joseph’s finger, arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck (Genesis 41:42-44). Your potential connects you with your provision. Your gift is the secret of your lift. Your gift causes gifts to come your way. To release your gift is to receive the gifts.  

My counsel is, discover what God has put in you and develop it. Whatever you spend to develop yourself is an investment into your future and destiny. And the highest form of investment is investment in self-development. A person may lose money at the stock market but the money he spends on personal development is not a waste.

 *2. Determine to deploy your potentials for destiny fulfilment* .
