“I did a full pre-season, now I try to get my teammates better, at the end of the day I’m available for the manager if he wants me.”
Lukaku admitted that Didier Drogba’s influence helped ahead of his return to Stamford Bridge.

“He kept it really simple, very happy about the improvements I have made over the last few seasons,” Lukaku added. “But he said there’s always more work to be done.
“If you want to achieve the maximum it’s all about improving. Now I get the chance to join a team that is very hungry and ambitious, I can’t wait to help them.

“Yes I’ve been training, I did a full pre-season, now I try to get my teammates better, at the end of the day I’m available for the manager if he wants me.”

Lukaku also confirmed that he is double vaccinated for Covid-19, explaining his decision is motivated by family members being high risk to the virus.

“I’m double vaccinated,” Lukaku confirmed. “For me it’s different, I have a few family members who are high risk.

Arsenal vs Chelsea: Tuchel names player to miss EPL derby, gives update on Kante, Ziyech

 August 20, 2021

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, has confirmed that winger, Christian Pulisic, will miss the Blues’ Premier League derby against Arsenal on Sunday evening.

Tuchel said the US international would miss Chelsea’s clash against Arsenal after he contracted COVID-19 ahead of the tie at Emirates Stadium.

The German also provided the latest update on Hakim Ziyech and N’Golo Kante.
The former PSG manager stated this on Friday during his pre-match press conference.

Chelsea head to the game following a 3-0 win against Crystal Palace in their last fixture, while Arsenal lost 2-0 against Brentford.

Recall that both Ziyech and Kante missed Chelsea’s clash against Crystal Palace due to injury.

“With Christian, it’s unfortunately very easy to explain,” Tuchel said.

“He had a positive test and needs to follow the protocols, so he won’t be available for the game [Arsenal vs Chelsea].

“Hakim and N’Golo were both in training today and they had no problems. We need to have a more intense session tomorrow with them and the team before we decide, but right now, it seems positive that both can be in the squad for Sunday.”

Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku, has revealed what he really loves about head coach, Thomas Tuchel.

Lukaku said the German gaffer always has a different game plan for every game.

The Belgium international stated this on Friday ahead of Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Arsenal on Sunday.
The 28-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Inter Milan this summer, is expected to feature for Tuchel’s side against the Gunners at Emirates.

“What I really like about him [Thomas Tuchel] is that for every game, there is a different game-plan,” Lukaku was quoted by Chelsea’s official website as saying.

“Training sessions are always with the goal of trying to prepare the team for the game at the weekend and that’s what I love about him.”

He added, “I told him in the first conversation that we had: ‘I tried to figure out what you are trying to do with the team, but I have never figured it out because every game was different’ and that’s what I like, because I look at the game from a tactical point of view.

“I want to know what a team is doing, and that’s what really intrigued me to become a player for him because he is a manager who is tactically very strong.”

BBNaija: Biggie gives Maria new directive on eviction of two housemates

 August 20, 2021

Big Brother on Friday added a fresh twist to the game being played in his house,

He instructed housemate Maria, to prank six housemates.
Recall that Maria who is the Head of House was given a secret task on Monday to act as though she has the power to evict two housemates on Sunday.

Biggie, in a diary session with Maria, who won the head of house challenge on Monday, said that there would be no evictions this week.
Biggie told Maria to keep the information secret.

However, Biggie in a follow-up instruction told Maria to gather the housemates and mention her bottom six and instruct them to pack up for eviction

He said, “Big Brother has an additional mission for you. On Sunday morning, you are to address the house and announce your bottom-six housemates, that is, the six housemates who least impressed you this week.

“You must tell them to pack their bags and deliver them into the storeroom as they await their final verdict.”

When she asked if the two housemates will be evicted, Biggie said her diary session was over.

Tammy Abraham: My Main Striker Should Come From Africa – Mourinho

AS Roma manager, Jose Mourinho has offered explanations on why he signed former Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham for €40 million this season.

Mourinho who begins his new managerial career with the Series A giants said he signed Abraham because his philosophy in using main strikers with African descent has not changed.

The former Tottenham manager who discloses that using strikers with African blood had been his lucky charm said that such players have aided in his winning trophies as a manager.

“My philosophy will never change. My center backs can come from anywhere. Midfielders also.

“But my main Striker should be of African Origin, that is my lucky charm to win titles,”
Mourinho who had previously coached Manchester United stated.

“This is why I pushed for young Tammy Abraham to come join me.”

The former Real Madrid coach took a dip at his former club, Manchester United for not utilising their striker, Marcus Rashford very well.

“If you remember under my watch at Man United, I made Rashford world class at very young age, we won Europa League and other honors.

“I left, and he got new lessons from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer , so he forgot to score goals. It’s painful to see.”

Tammy Abraham signed a five-year deal with Roma but with an agreement with Chelsea to buy back from 2023.

Mourinho has been successful with clubs he managed while deploying African strikers as his hitmen with Didier Drogba, Samuel Eto’o in Chelsea and Inter Milan all playing prominent roles in his title-ladden managerial career.

Serie A: You must be careful – Napoli boss, Spalletti warns Osimhen after red card against Venexia

 August 23, 2021

Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti has warned Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen following his red card in their 2-0 win over Serie A newcomers, Venexia on Sunday.

Referee Gianluca Aureliano gave Osimhen the matching order in the 23rd minute at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Osimhen was adjudged to have shoved Venezia midfielder Daan Heymans in the face during a corner kick struggle.

“Osimhen’s expulsion? He has to be careful of his emotional reactions. He is a strong attacker and all the defenders will try to help themselves by limiting his physical exuberance,” Spalletti said according to
“He will always have his hands on the defenders. He must be careful.

The referee was very correct when he explained to me what he saw.”
Willian 'Likes' Chelsea's Instagram Post Celebrating Their Win Over Arsenal

Arsenal fans would not have liked watching Chelsea outclass them in their own back yard.

Unfortunately for Gunners’ supporters, one of their own players did like their 2-0 defeat – literally.

Former Chelsea and current North Londoners winger Willian has landed himself in very hot water, after liking a Chelsea social media post celebrating the win.

The Brazilian did not even make the Gunners bench for the contest, which saw a debut goal from Romelu Lukaku, and a powerful Reece James strike secure a comfortable three points for The Blues.

Needless to say, Arsenal supporters are not pleased with the 33-year-old.

Mikel Arteta’s side are currently in 19th position after back-to-back 2-0 defeats to Brentford and The Blues.

Only Norwich City are holding them up, as The Canaries have a worse goal difference thanks to 3-0 and 5-0 defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City.

Arteta looked like he was carrying the weight of the world in his post-match interview with Sky Sports.

"They were the better team. When they play at their best, which I think they did today, they are champions of Europe,” said an evidently disappointed Arteta.

They have world class players and to match them at that level is difficult.

"In the first half it took us a long time to regain the ball in wide areas. We concede two goals but the way the team responded, and the crowd never gave up, it gave us hope in the second half."

The pressure has also been cranked up to nuclear levels as Arteta’s side are currently the largest spenders in this summer’s transfer window.

Ben White, Aaron Ramsdale, and Martin Odegaard all arrived from Brighton, Sheffield United, and Real Madrid for a combined £110 million, but none of the three featured against Tuchel’s side.

£16million signing from Lukaku’s former side Anderlecht, Albert Sambi Lokonga was the only new signing to start for the Gunners against Chelsea.

Quote:Nice Vs Marseille Ligue 1 Game Abandoned After Home Fans Invade Pitch

Nice vs Marseille clash abandoned on Sunday night following extraordinary scenes of crowd trouble as fans confronted players on the pitch.

The match was suspended in the second half after Marseille players clashed with home fans who had pelted them with missiles from the first whistle.

Nice supporters threw water bottles at Marseille forward Dimitri Payet when he was about to take a corner and, after the forward hurled one back at them, a full scale brawl ensued when some of the fans rushed on to the turf.
Both teams retreated to the tunnel and play was held up for over an hour before Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivere appealed to Nice supporters over the sound system for calm and the home players returned to the pitch to warm up.

But angry Marseille players and staff were adamant in refusing to carry on, with French daily L'Equipe reporting that visiting players Payet, Matteo Guendouzi and Luan Peres were injured in the fighting, with riot police deployed in front of the tier packed with Nice fans.
Nice were 1-0 up when play was interrupted in the 75th minute, with Swedish striker Kasper Dolberg firing them ahead early in the second half after Marseille missed a string of first-half chances.

LaLiga: Ancelotti reacts as Real Madrid draw 3-3 with Levante
 August 23, 2021

[Image: skysports-carlo-ancelotti-bayern-munich_4291419.jpg]

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has expressed his frustration following their 3-3 draw at Levante on Sunday.

Two late goals from substitute Vinicius Junior ensured Los Blancos got a point.
The hosts had cancelled out Gareth Bale’s first La Liga goal since 2019 and taken the lead.

Ancelotti claims his side have already lost early ground in the LaLiga title race.

“It was crazy, after controlling the first half well we gave away two points.
“It’s hard to explain. We leave here with a bad taste in our mouths. We have to pay more attention to the details,” he said according to Marca.

Real had won 4-1 at Real Sociedad on the opening weekend.

EPL: Conte to replace Arteta as Arsenal manager

 August 24, 2021

Arsenal are considering appointing former Chelsea and Inter Milan manager, Antonio Conte as Mikel Arteta’s successor.

Arteta has overseen a bad start to the 2020/2021 season.

The Gunners have suffered back-to-back 2-0 defeats to Brentford and Chelsea in their first two league fixtures.

The UK Telegraph claims Arteta now has only five games to save his job and Conte is a potential candidate to take over at the Emirates.

Conte quit Inter after leading them to the Serie A title last term.

The Italian was linked with a return to the Premier League with Tottenham Hotspur, but a deal never materialised.

Conte won 51 of his 76 Premier League games in charge of Chelsea and oversaw their 2016/2017 title triumph, before he was sacked in 2018
