Five Manchester City players have been included in the UEFA Champions League team of this week.

UEFA released the Champions League team in a post on its website on Thursday following the conclusion of this week’s semi-final first-leg games on Wednesday night.
The five Man City players are Ederson, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Riyad Mahrez, İlkay Gündoğan and Kevin De Bruyne.
Man City players made the list alongside Chelsea stars, Antonio Rüdiger and Christian Pulišić.

Recall that Man City defeated PSG 2-1 in Paris, thanks to goals from De Bruyne and Mahrez.
Below is the UEFA Champions League team after the conclusion of this week’s last-4 matches:

Man U. 6- 2 Roma: Edison Cavani and Bruno Fernandes help United put one foot in Europa league final







Manchester United came back from a first half capitulation against Roma to record a massive 6-2 win in the first leg of the Europa League semi-final on Thursday night, April 29.
 
Edinson Cavani was simply superb during the game as he contributed two goals, two assists and won a penalty for the club which came back from 2-1 down in the first half to win this semi-final first leg tie 6-2.
 


United were in control of the match from the start, with United starting Pogba Cavani and Rashford as a front three in front of Fernandes, Fred and McTominay.

While Roma paraded Edin Dzeko and Manchester United's former players Henrikh Mhikytaryan and Chris Smalling
 
In the first half AS Roma made  three substitutions including their goalkeeper due to injury.

Pogba executed a superb turn that left three Roma players in his wake and found Cavani whose touch just inside the area was perfect for Fernandes to lift over the advancing goalkeeper.
 


Just only four minutes later Pogba undid his good work by handing Roma a penalty after handling the ball while trying to block a cross from Rick Karsdorp.

David De Gea , not too good with penalties, missed Lorenzo Pellegrini’s spot-kick, despite diving the right way.
 


 Pogba then tried to retaliate with a long range shot that Pau Lopez saved, however the Roma goalkeeper dislocated his shoulder so had to be substituted.

 Roma then pounced again.
 


The team took the lead through Edin Dzeko after hitting the ball home from close range after a slick move from the visitors.
 
The first half ended 2-1.

Then just three minutes after the break, Pogba found Cavani who exchanged passes with Fernandes before finishing superbly with a first time side-footed effort into the top right-hand corner.
 

 
Aaron Wan Bissaka’s 64th minute cross shot was spilled by the goalkeeper and Cavani was at the right place to poach it home.

Cavani then caused a penalty after Smalling fouled him near the byline.
 


Fernandes calmly placed the spot kick away and then on 75 minutes he provided the cross from Luke Shaw’s short corner for Pogba to head home and make it five goals for Manchester United.
 


United were not done yet.
 


Mason Greenwood came on to add number six after getting a great ball from Cavani with the outside of his boot to fire home.

United will now travel to Roma next week for the second leg.

Jose Mourinho Joins talkSPORT After He Was Sacked By Tottenham (Video)

Chelsea: Timo Werner equals Eden Hazard’s record

Chelsea forward, Timo Werner has equalled the club’s former player, Eden Hazard’s record at Stamford Bridge.

Werner, who has endured a lot of criticism this season, equalled a record held by Hazard, who currently plays for Real Madrid, in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.
The 25-year-old has come under fire on several occasions this season for missing easy chances, the most recent of which came in Chelsea’s Champions League semi-final first-leg 1-1 draw with Real Madrid last Tuesday.

The Germany international failed to get on the scoresheet once again against Fulham, but he did provide the assist for Kai Havertz’s second goal against the visitors.

And in doing so, Werner registered his 10th assist in all competitions for the Blues this season, which means he is now in double figures for both goals and assists for the campaign so far.
And the last Chelsea player to manage that feat in their debut season at the west London club was Hazard in the 2012-2013 campaign.


Meanwhile, speaking about Werner’s display against Fulham, Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel, said at his post-match press conference, “Timo [Werner] was involved in many chances.


“Kai played double striker with Timo, and the two had a good connection and were always dangerous. There is still a lot to improve but another good performance.”

Manchester United fans have now stormed the Old Trafford Stadium today and got on the pitch.

The fans are still angry at Manchester United owners the Glazers and want them to sell the club.

Hundreds of fans gathered for the protest and got on the pitch at Old Trafford.

The Greater Manchester Police did not allow both teams leave their team hotel due to the chaos at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Officials held an emergency meeting to determine whether any Covid-19 protocols were breached by fans in the stadium.

Fans are not allowed to attend the Premier League match.

The protesters shouted 'we want Glazers out' as they walked on the pitch. Outside the Lowry hotel, others fans said 'we tell when to play'.

Manchester United Vs Liverpool Premier League match is scheduled for 4:30pm today.

The match has now been delayed for security reasons.

Inter Milan Fans Celebrate 1st Serie A Title Victory Since 2010 (Photos) 


Inter Milan fans celebrated in thousands as they won their first Serie A since 2010.

Inter Milan were Crowned Serie A Champions today after second-placed Atalanta played a 1-1 draw.

Antonio Conte's team are 13 points clear top of the Italian league with four matches left to play this season.

Inter Milan's title win ended Juventus' nine consecutive title run.

This is their first Serie A title since the 2009-2010 treble season victory under Jose Mourinho.

Inter Milan fans took to the streets for the celebrations in Italy.

I would fight to the death for Conte!' - Romelu Lukaku hails Inter Milan boss after winning Serie A title







Inter Milan/Belgium star striker, Romelu Lukaku has claimed that he would "fight to the death" for his coach, Antonio Conte while hailing the Inter boss following the team's 2020-21 Scudetto triumph.
 
Conte won Inter's first Serie A crown in 11 years at the weekend following Atalanta's 1-1 draw with Sassuolo.

Lukaku meanwhile has scored 21 goals in 33 league appearances, and says his coach should be credited for helping to take his game to the next level.

"I would fight to the death for him. I couldn't join him at Chelsea, but I always said I would play for him the day I left Manchester United," the Belgian striker told La Tribune.

“Conte told me very directly: ‘If you don’t work in training you won’t play, it’s essential that you know how to play with your back to goal'.

“It’s important to meet people who tell you the absolute truth to help you improve.”

Lukaku admitted to being relieved after winning only the second trophy of his career in the form of the Serie A title, insisting that he has always valued team silverware above individual records.

"I thought it was now or never," he added. "In a career you can score 500 goals, but if you don't win in the end it's all in vain."

The 27-year-old still has three years left to run on his contract at Inter, and hopes to go on and achieve even greater success .

“Last year was good too, but this was the best of my career," Lukaku told Sky Italia after the Nerazzurri's title win. 

"It’s wonderful and I hope to continue like this. I want to thank everyone, I am truly so happy.”

AS Roma Appoints Jose Mourinho As Head Coach

AS Roma are delighted to announce an agreement has been reached with José Mourinho to become the club’s new head coach.

Mourinho has agreed a three-year contract with the Giallorossi that will run until 30 June 2024.

He will begin his new role ahead of the 2021-22 campaign.

“We are thrilled and delighted to welcome José Mourinho into the AS Roma family,” club president Dan Friedkin and vice-president Ryan Friedkin said.

“A great champion who has won trophies at every level, José will provide tremendous leadership and experience to our ambitious project.

“The appointment of José is a huge step in building a long-term and consistent winning culture throughout the club.”

Mourinho, 58, is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the sport – having won 25 major trophies in his career to date.

“Thank you to the Friedkin family for choosing me to lead this great club and to be part of their vision,” Mourinho said.

Former Aston Villa striker, Dalian Atkinson died after being tasered and kicked in the streets, jury hears







Former Aston Villa striker, Dalian Atkinson died after being tasered three times and kicked at least twice to the head by an "angry" police officer, a murder trial jury has heard.
 
On Tuesday, May 4, the jury at Birmingham Crown Court was told West Mercia Police Constable Benjamin Monk denies the murder and manslaughter of the 48-year-old former footballer, who played for a number of clubs, including Aston Villa, Manchester City, Ipswich Town, and Sheffield Wednesday.
 
Monk is alleged to have fired a Taser weapon at Atkinson for 33 seconds, or more than six times longer than the standard five-second phase, and while he was on the ground and apparently unresponsive, kicked him in the head twice with such force the imprint of Monk’s laces were left on Atkinson’s forehead.
 
Another officer, PC Mary Ellen Bettley-Smith, is charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, which she denies. She is alleged to have struck Atkinson with a baton while he was on the ground.
 
A jury at Birmingham crown court heard the prosecutor Alexandra Healy QC open the case against the 42-year-old officer, who was charged after a three-year inquiry into Mr. Atkinson's death in 2016 in Telford, Shropshire,
 
She said concerned neighbours had called police, with Atkinson shouting and his behaviour described as bizarre and erratic. Monk had used a Taser stun gun on Atkinson twice without any obvious effect, and fired the electric stun gun a third time, which felled the former footballer to the ground in the street outside his father’s home.
 
Healy said: “PC Monk also proceeded to kick Dalian Atkinson. At least two kicks were delivered by him to Dalian Atkinson’s forehead with enough force to leave the imprints of the pattern of the laces from the top of his boot on two separate areas of Mr Atkinson’s forehead.


“A number of neighbours living in Meadow Close witnessed this attack. Their view was that once Dalian Atkinson had fallen to the ground he was unresponsive and still. He was no longer posing any threat to the officers. Nonetheless the two officers set about him.”
 
Healy said Atkinson had underlying health problems including end stage renal failure, and about 1.30am had gone to his father’s home in Meadow Close and his shouting in the street had awoken neighbours, who called the police.
 
The officers had knocked on the door of Atkinson’s father’s home. Atkinson had answered the door and claimed to be the messiah.
 
Healy said: “On the night of Sunday 14th and early hours of Monday 15th August 2016 Dalian Atkinson’s behaviour was disturbed and erratic.
 
“They were confronted with a man who was clearly acting in a disturbed and erratic way. They were entitled to use reasonable force to defend themselves or to protect another.
 
“The prosecution do not criticise their conduct prior to the discharge of the third Taser cartridge.
 
“However, when the deployment of the third cartridge was completely effective, causing Dalian Atkinson to experience neuromuscular incapacitation and fall to the ground, the prosecution say it was not reasonable to continue to depress the Taser for 33 seconds.
 
“In kicking Dalian Atkinson in the head not once, but on two separate occasions, PC Monk was not, the prosecution say, acting in self-defence or in defence of another. He was no doubt angry that he had been put in fear by this man.
 
“He chose to take that anger out on Dalian Atkinson by kicking him in the head. PC Monk was an experienced police officer. His training had taught him and it is obvious that the head is a sensitive area. In kicking Dalian Atkinson to the head PC Monk can only have intended to cause really serious injury.”
 
Healy told the jury that the former footballer was pronounced dead shortly afterwards: “An ambulance was called to the scene. Whilst this is a matter of routine when a Taser has been deployed, Dalian Atkinson had lost consciousness and was unresponsive before the ambulance arrived.
 
“Towards the end of the short ambulance journey to hospital Dalian Atkinson went into cardiac arrest. Despite the best efforts of the hospital staff who attempted to resuscitate him, he was pronounced dead at 2.45am.
 
“The pathologists and intensive care expert instructed by the prosecution agree that whilst his underlying health conditions meant that Dalian Atkinson was at a greatly increased risk of dying, were it not for the third Taser deployment and the kicks to his head, Dalian Atkinson would not have died that night.”
 
Monk's colleague, PC Mary Ellen Bettley-Smith, 31, is also facing trial charged with assault. She has pleaded not guilty to a charge alleging she assaulted Mr. Atkinson occasioning actual bodily harm before his death on August 15, 2016.
 
Addressing Bettley-Smith's alleged role, Ms. Healy claimed the younger officer had struck Mr. Atkinson, whilst he was lying on the ground, a number of times with her baton.
 
The prosecutor added of Monk: "In kicking Dalian Atkinson in the head not once, but on two separate occasions, PC Monk was not, the prosecution say, acting in self-defence or in defence of another.
 
"He was no doubt angry that he had been put in fear by this man. He chose to take that anger out on Dalian Atkinson by kicking him in the head.
 
"His training will have taught him, and it is obvious, that the head is a sensitive area. In kicking Dalian Atkinson to the head PC Monk can only, the prosecution say, have only intended to cause really serious injury."
 
The trial of the two police officers is being heard before a jury of 12 people with two alternates, and presided over by the recorder of Birmingham, Judge Melbourne Inman.
 
Atkinson achieved fame as a striker for Aston Villa football club, which is based in Birmingham. He retired from football in 2001.

Man City Players Celebrate First Champions League Final In Dressing Room

Manchester City players celebrated their first ever Champions League final with Staffs in the dressing room.

Manchester City sealed their spot in the Champions League final after beating PSG in the semi final.

After the final whistle, Pep Guardiola's side started their own celebrations in the dressing room.

They were still wearing their match kit as they jumped around in celebrations with some staffs in the dressing room.

Manchester City will face Real Madrid or Chelsea in the Champions League final in Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul.

Tottenham to still pay Jose Mourinho £10m next season twice as much as his new club Roma







Tottenham football club will still pay former boss Jose Mourinho £10million, despite his appointment on Tuesday, May 3 as the new coach of Roma.
 
Mourinho landed a new job just 15 days after being sacked by Tottenham, signing a three-year deal with the Italians worth £5m a year — compared to the annual £15m he was getting at Spurs.

But as part of his severance package he entered into with Tottenham, the club will pay him the shortfall in salary if he took another post on lower wages before the end of his contract next summer.

That means when Mourinho takes over at the Stadio Olimpico this summer he will receive £5m from Roma and, for next season only, £10m from Tottenham.

But Spurs see it as a financial victory, as they have saved £5m on what they would have paid him had he not accepted another job.

The ex-Porto, Chelsea, Inter, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss wants to show he is not at fault for his Tottenham sack.

He also reportedly wants to show that he has not been affected by his shock departure after just 17 months in charge.

Chelsea Players Celebrate Win, Champions League Final In Dressing Room (Photos)

Chelsea players and staff celebrated with joy after their win against Real Madrid in the dressing room.

Chelsea will now face rivals Manchester City in the Champions League final in an all-English final on May 29.

This is Chelsea's first Champions League final in nine years, and the players started the celebrations in no time after heading to the dressing room.

With no fans inside the stadium, the players danced together with music playing in the background in the dressing room.

Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy was the party starter, recording the squad dancing around and screaming with joy.

Chelsea's kit staff also got involved in the celebrations.

Samuel Chukwueze, Villarreal Players Celebrate Europa League Final Qualification


Nigerian Footballer Samuel Chukwueze, and other Villarreal Players celebrate happy as they reached the Europa League final.

Chukwueze had to go off injured during the match but Villarreal did enough for the 2nd leg against Arsenal to end 0-0 at the Emirates.

Chukwueze had a good game before the injury and was taken of in the first half.

Arsenal needed one goal but were unable to find it after a 2-1 loss from the first leg in Spain.

This is the first time in 25 years that Arsenal won't play European football next season.

After the match, Villarreal players, and Coach Unai Emery celebrated their iconic achievement in the dressing room, and on the pitch.

Neymar signs new contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain until 2025








Paris Saint-Germain striker, Neymar has finally committed to a new long-term deal with the French giants. 
 
The French club have confirmed that the Brazilian striker has penned a new deal which will run until summer 2025, a three-year extension.
 
The news has put rumours of Neymar returning to Barcelona to put to bed. 
 

 
"I’m really pleased to continue my adventure at Paris Saint-Germain. I’m very happy in Paris, and proud to be part of this squad, to work with these players, a great coach, and to be part of the history of this club," Neymar told the club's official website.
 
"These are things that make me believe even more in this great project. I have grown as a person here, as a human being and as a player, too. So I am very happy to extend my contract and I hope to win many more trophies here," the Brazilian concluded.

De Bruyne needed to leave Chelsea – Tuchel

Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has said Kevin De Bruyne needed to leave the club in 2014 in order to grow.

However, he insisted that Kai Havertz or Timo Werner will not need similar departures.


De Bruyne left Stamford Bridge in an £18million deal to Wolfsburg, before becoming one of the Premier League’s best playmakers at Manchester City.
The Belgian midfielder could win the title for the third time if City beat Chelsea on Saturday, with a Champions League final to come between the two English teams later in the month.

“I don’t know; I was not there. I can say that you can get caught up in the thoughts that it was a big mistake to let him go, but you never know.

“You don’t know what would have happened if he did not change the club back to Germany from Chelsea and then back to England after that.
“Maybe he needed it at the time. A different league, a different challenge to be at his best level.

Arsenal owner, Stan Kroenke, is planning to back manager Mikel Arteta seriously in the summer market.

The American billionaire will not sack the under-fire Spaniard despite the Gunners’ disastrous season.
Instead, Kroenke will sanction a free-spending summer transfer window, according to the UK Sun.
Arsenal crashed out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage to Villarreal.


Arteta’s men are now unlikely to qualify for any European football next season, as they currently sit in ninth place in the Premier League.

Fans have begun calling for the coach’s head, but Kroenke doesn’t agree, and is convinced that the former midfielder is the right man to lead the club forward.

It is claimed that at least two or three big-name players will arrive at the Emirates this summer, as Kroenke looks to improve Arteta’s squad ahead of the 2021/2022 season.

Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane, has reacted to forward Eden Hazard’s laughing following their Champions League semi-final second-leg 2-0 defeat against Chelsea last Wednesday.

Hazard struggled to make an impact against his former club and then angered those connected with Real Madrid after television cameras caught him laughing with Kurt Zouma just minutes after the full-time whistle at Stamford Bridge.
Reacting, Zidane said that Hazard apologized to Real Madrid players for laughing and joking after their Champions League defeat to Chelsea, adding that it was not his intention to hurt anyone.

“Hazard knows what he has to do on the pitch, and he is going to do it, we spoke the other day after the game to say that he apologized for the reaction, with me, with the club, with the players,” Zidane said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash with Sevilla on Sunday.

“It’s over and we have to focus. In football, that is most important for us and the end of the season.

“He has apologized for the other day and has done well, it was not his intention to hurt anyone, and he said so.
“He is a Real Madrid player and he will compete for Real Madrid.

“All the players reach the heart of Real Madrid, it is true that at the moment, it has not been possible to see the Hazard that people want to see but I think he will take it forward.


“It is a complicated moment because of everything that has happened, but he has a contract and he wants to succeed here. I hope that soon he will show what he is as a player.”

Real Madrid’s squad to face Sevilla in the LaLiga on Sunday has been released.

Real Madrid boss, Zinedine Zidane, has named 20 players to tackle Sevilla at the Alfredo Di Stéfano in a post via the club’s website on Saturday.
Real Madrid head to the game following a 2-0 defeat against Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final second-leg tie last Wednesday.
Zidane’s side are currently in the second position on the LaLiga table with 74 points from 34 games.

Below is Real Madrid’s squad against Sevilla:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Lunin and Altube.
Defenders: E. Militão, Nacho, Marcelo, Odriozola and Miguel.
