Bandits Attack Emir Of Kaura Namoda’s Convoy, Kill 3 Policemen, 5 Others

Bandits have attacked the convoy of the Emir of Kaura Namoda, HRH Sanusi Muhammad Asha, killing three policemen and five others.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo confirmed the incident which happened in Funtua, Katsina State, to Channels Television on Friday.
He, however, declined to comment further on the attack.

Two palace guards, 3 police escorts, others killed as gunmen ambush Zamfara Emir's convoy







The Emir of Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Asha, escaped death on Thursday night when gunmen ambushed his convoy, killing two palace guards, his driver, three policemen and two others along Zaria-Funtua road.
 
It was gathered that the incident happened on Thursday night while he was on his way from Abuja to Kaura-Namoda in Zamfara State.
 
According to the sources, the Emir who was in his official vehicle with a Toyota Hilux forming part of the convoy didn’t sustain any injury but eight occupants of the Hilux including the driver, two palace guards, three police escorts and two traditional title holders, were all killed by the gunmen.
 

It was further gathered that the incident which occurred close to midnight made the Emir to spend the night at Funtua police station.
 
The Kaura Namoda Emirate Council are making arrangements to convey the bodies of those killed for burial. 
 
One of those killed in the attack were Dan Amal of Kaura, who doubled as the father to the Emir, Shinfidan Kaura and Sarkin Dogarai. See photos of some of the victims including an NSCDC official as posted by a resident of the palace.
