Daily Devotional for Saturday 17th October

So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:8).

In Christianity, we don’t judge by our feelings; we follow the Word. That you “feel” close to God or far from Him doesn’t make any difference. You live in Him and He lives in you. How much closer can you get to someone who lives in you?

God wants you to know and grow in the knowledge of His Word, and walk in the light of your oneness with Him. He wants you to live by what the Word says about you, and not by your feelings or the opinions of others.

The devil may lie to you and make you feel you’re still a sinner, but don’t be deceived. The day you gave your heart to Christ, you were recreated and became the righteousness of God in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17 says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” God had to tell you this because your mind doesn’t know it and can’t comprehend it. It’s revelation knowledge for the human spirit, through the Holy Spirit.

Irrespective of how you may “feel,” He wants you to “see,” to reckon that you’re in Christ now. The old habits are passed away; the old frustrations and struggles are passed away. You have a brand-new life of glory and righteousness. Hallelujah!

I walk by faith and not by sensory perception. I accept, affirm and live in and by the reality of the Word. I’m in Christ and Christ is in me; thank you Father for this blessed fellowship. Hallelujah!

Romans 8:7-10; 2 Corinthians 5:7; Philippians 3:3

2 Thessalonians 2:1-17 & Jeremiah 1-2

Hebrews 8:1-13 & Ezekiel 14-15

I affirm that the grace of God has brought beauty and excellence into my life. My capacity has increased; therefore, I increase in my finances, I increase in my ministry, I increase in my career, I increase in knowledge, I increase in strength, I increase in every area of my life.

My territory is enlarged and I am producing durable results. Hallelujah! Doors of opportunities are open unto me in different continents of the earth.

My name regularly comes up for the right opportunities. Nothing will ever take me by surprise because I have inside information.

I am an offspring of the Word, I eat of the good of the land; for the earth and the fullness thereof belongs to me. I am joined to the Lord; I have become one with Him.

 There’s nothing that I do that will fail. I only play one game and that is winning. If I ever get involved,
God is involved.

I am anointed to succeed; I don’t believe in failure and I can never fail. The Lord has given me grace for that which He’s called me to do.

 I recognize that grace, and function in it. Everywhere I go; the grace of brings me favour, prosperity, health, and supernatural increase. Watch out world; It doesn’t matter how I start, I will end up as the best. Glory to God!

God bless you

What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Romans 8:31

5. And the LORD shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.

6. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

7. And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

8. And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

When the leadership of the children of Israel was handed over to Joshua, he was really afraid.

He knew it would take a lot of wisdom to resolve conflicts and deal with complaints among his people.

He had also seen how they were faced with huge obstacles in the past the Red Sea, lack of food and water in the wilderness, enemies coming against them and many more.

Joshua was sure he would need a special anointing to overcome such obstacles if they came up again.

God however, knew that with fear in the heart of Joshua, he would not be able to lead the Israelites to the Promised Land, so He had to remind him:

“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9″

Beloved, if you will succeed in your divine purpose and assignment, you must be strong and courageous, confident that God is with you at all times.

Fear is a strategy of the devil to limit you; never allow it in your heart.

No matter how great a task is, as long as God is with you, you have succeeded already.

The Israelites were afraid of Goliath and would have been delivered into the hands of the Philistines, but for David’s godly confidence (1 Samuel 17:24).

Despite the fact that David was young, the moment he stepped into the situation, everything changed. All God needed to deliver His people was courage, not necessarily skills.

Your abilities are not sufficient to guarantee your success. God is however, more than enough to help you succeed. All He needs is your courage; not experience, connections or skills just courage.

Good courage is taking steps in the face of fear, difficulties and danger with the confidence that God is with you.

As you go about your various activities today, be strong and of a good courage.

God is with you and you will definitely overcome, in the mighty name of Jesus.

Father, please banish every form of fear in my life and help me to be strong and courageous, in the mighty name of Jesus.

1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner;
It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict,
In this His glorious day;
Ye that are men now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own:
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song;
To him that overcometh,
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.

...The *LORD* will judge and determine and solve and settle the cause and the cases of His people. _*(Hebrews 10:30, AMPC)*_

_*Hebrews 10:30 KJV*_
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The *LORD* shall judge his people.

Are you dealing with an "unsolved case" from your past that needs resolution? You might have been through some bad breaks. People may have said things about you and done things to you that hurt and offended. Are you waiting for your day of justice or repayment? GOD promises in His Word that He is our vindicator. He is our defender. He will settle your case and repay everything the enemy has stolen.

But in order to allow *CHRIST* to settle your debts, you have to release your concerns to Him and forgive those who have wronged you. It’s very freeing to say, “They can’t pay me back. I’m on GOD’s payroll, and He never misses a payment.” GOD will settle your cases. You have to allow *JESUS* to take on the debt they owe you in the same way that He took on your debt for sin. That's true forgiveness - freeing others so that you can be free. As you walk and live in forgiveness, you show that you trust in GOD to repay you, and He will honor your faith in Him!

GOD, I believe in complete restoration in every area of my life! That starts with letting go of the past and forgiving those who have wronged me. I forgive them, Father, and I praise You for taking on my debt. In *JESUS*' name - Amen.

“Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” James 5:8

One very important question to ask ourselves at this crucial time of life is this: “Are you ready?” In case you are asking, “Ready for what?” the answer is “The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Our text today talks about the imminence of the return of Jesus. Many of the signs that would signify His coming—false prophets deceiving many, rumors of wars, pestilence, and abundance of lawlessness (see Matthew 24) are all happening already. It is said that it will be just like the days of Noah when everyone will be living carefree without thinking about the consequences of their actions.

As children of God, we are expected to hold fast that which we have received. Examine your life. Do you truly know the Lord? Is your relationship with Him thriving or gasping for air? Are you constantly fellowshipping with Him or relying on your weekly attendance on Sundays? Are you ready for the coming of your Saviour? If your answer is no, then you have work to do. Return to your Maker and be reunited with Him. If your answer is yes, you also have work to do. Hold fast your faith and conviction and when He comes, He will say to you "well-done good and faithful servant, come into the joy of your Lord."

 ?️  Examine yourself today to know where you truly stand. The arms of Jesus are wide open. He is waiting for you.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18; Matthew 24:3-44; Luke 12:37-40; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17

1. Father I thank You for the gift of salvation and the privilege to be called Your son;

2. I ask for grace to serve You with all of my heart; help me to truly love You in the name of Jesus;

3. Father, I pray for my extended family members, that you draw them to Your love, in the name of Jesus.

2 Kings 19, Jer. 52, 1 Timothy 3
