Buhari Mourns Isa Funtua, Says He Stood By Him During His Political journey

President Muhammadu Buhari received with deep sadness on Monday evening information on passing of his longtime friend and associate, Malam Isma’ila Isa Funtua, who was Life Patron of International Press Institute and Newspapers Proprietors Association of Nigeria (NPAN).

The President condoles with family members, government and people of Katsina State, and all associates of the former President of NPAN, especially the media industry, on the loss, describing him as “greatly admired and respected’’.

President Buhari believes the demise of the publisher and businessman has created a huge gap as Malam Funtua consistently stood by him in his political journey.

The President prayed to Allah for repose of Malam Funtua's soul, and to grant the family strength and fortitude to bear the loss.

Atiku mourns Isa Funtua

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has mourned the passing of Alhaji Isa Funtua.


DAILY POST had reported that Funtua, who is a close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, is believed to have died of cardiac arrest.


Late Isa Funtua, the founding Managing Director of Kaduna based Democrat Newspaper, died on Monday night.


Reacting, Atiku on his Twitter page prayed that God forgives his sin.


He wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna Ilaihi Rajiun! On behalf of my family, I convey my deepest condolences to the Funtua family over the loss of its patriarch, Ismaila lsa Funtua.
“May Allah forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdaus.

Isa Funtua: How I predicted death of Buhari’s close friend – Primate Ayodele

The senior prophet of INRI Evangelical spiritual church, Primate Elijah Ayodele has explained how his prophecy about the death of Isa Funtua, President Muhammadu Buhari’s close friend, came to pass.


Alhaji Isa Funtua, widely known as an ally to the President, died on Monday after suffering cardiac arrest.


In a series of prophecies he made available to DAILY POST on Sunday, Ayodele had predicted the death of a prominent Nigerian, categorically stating that it will happen within this week and next week.


He had said, “Within this week and next week, let’s pray not to lose a prominent Nigerian.”

Ayodele, in one of his predictions, had said that “President Buhari will still cry if proper cleansing isn’t done in the Villa.”

Funtua died on Monday after suffering cardiac arrest and the news was first broken by President Buhari’s aide on new media, Bashir Ahmad, who hinted that the deceased was hale and hearty till he suddenly went to the great beyond.

Saraki, Dogara react to death of Buhari’s ally, Isa Funtua

Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President and a former Reps Speaker, Dogara Yakubu have expressed shock over the death of Isa Funtua.


DAILY POST reported that close ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Funtua died on Monday after suffering cardiac arrest.
Buhari’s spokesman, Bashir Ahmed confirmed the development on Twitter.


Reacting, Saraki on his official Twitter page described Funtua’s death as a personal loss to his family, adding that he was like a father to him.


His tweets read: “Inalilahi Wa Ina ilaehi rajihun. The death of Alhaji Ismaila Isa Funtua is a personal loss to me and my family. He was like a father and one of the associates of my late father who chose to take me under his wings.

Yakubu Dogara, the former speaker on the other hand described Funtua as a patriot with too many legacies.
His tweet read: “ Malam Ismaila Isa Funtua was a Distinguished elder statesman, media icon, construction magnate, industrialist and a patriot whose legacies are too numerous to list.


“My condolences to his family, friends, associates, the people and government of Katsina state. May his soul rest in peace.”

Tinubu Reacts To Isa Funtua's Death 

The national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a condolence message over the demise of Popular Businessman and Ally to President Buhari, Ismaila Isa Funtua.
