Drum rolls! [Image: cheesy.png]

The thread we all have been waiting for! The 2020 big brother Naija season 5. Yay!!!

Tomorrow Sunday 19th June, we are anticipating to see our ever blazing presenter- Ebuka obi-uchendu and some new entertaining housemates coming in on a race to win a whopping sum of 85 million naira!!!

The Reality Tv show will air on all DSTV (channel 198) and Gotv (channel 29) Packages from 7pm (WAT)

This year's edition is proudly sponsored by BetWay in association with Guinness.

Note: The aim of the show is to have fun; however for the duration of the show, the Housemates are subject to Biggie’s rules. These need to be followed from the moment the Housemates enter the House until the moment they leave.

Big Brother's rules of law:

Quote:Rule 1: Housemates must respect the House and their fellow contestants at all times.

Rule 2: The Housemates will have no contact with the outside world and they are kept busy by the various tasks and challenges set by Biggie. Being in such close proximity with a house full of strangers can be tough going and Biggie has set rules that need to be followed.

Rule 3: Big Brother has complete control over everything going on in the house and Biggie never discusses anything that goes on outside of the house with anyone inside.

Rule 4: The Housemates are filmed 24/7 and they must have their microphones on at all times. The viewers must be able to hear all conversations at all times and are not allowed to whisper or cover their mouths while speaking to fellow Housemates. They are also not allowed to reveal the location of the cameras and microphones.

Rule 5: Diary Sessions are one of the most important aspects of the show’s success and are compulsory. Once a Housemate is called to the Diary Room, they must drop everything they are doing and proceed to the Diary Room. Failure to do so will result in a fine, "a strike" or worse. Housemates can request to enter the Diary Room at any time of the day or night. Sunglasses and hats are not permitted in the Diary Room. The door for the Diary Room will be locked when not in use and no one is allowed into the room if it is occupied.

Important to note:
Diary Sessions and Nominations are compulsory and Housemates need to give valid reasons for nominating a fellow Housemate. Biggie reserves the right to take his time to answer any questions, but will always return with an answer. Biggie will not entertain any personal questions. What happens in the Diary Room stays in the Diary Room and Housemates cannot discuss anything that happens in the Diary Room. Exceptions to this rule are events such as Head of House Tasks.

Rule 6: Nominations are important and Housemates are not allowed to discuss the reasons for their nominations with anyone other than Big Brother. If a Housemate does so it will be interpreted as a deliberate attempt to influence others. They are not allowed to communicate via hints, signs, symbols or written notes. Housemates are not allowed to enter into any alliance or scheme to plot the downfall of fellow Housemates. Communication in the house in Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and any other local language other than English is not permitted.

Rule 7: Housemates are not allowed to strike, intimidate, threaten or act in any way that can be construed as violent towards any fellow Housemates. This could result in immediate disqualification.

BBNaija: Kaisha, northerner from Sokoto stirs reactions from Nigerians

 July 20, 2020
[Image: 32db5356-bbnaija.jpeg]

The choice of a northerner, Aisha Umaru, aka Kaisha as one of the BBNaija ‘lockdown’ housemates has stirred reactions on social media.

Kaisha, while entering the house, told Ebuka Obi-Uchendu that she is a goal getter, dramatic but very emotional.
She also promised to bring drama back to back and would be herself 100%.

Kaisha is an entrepreneur from Sokoto State.
Some Nigerians are of the opinion that it is wrong for a true northerner who is devoted and modest to be among BBNaija housemates, while others commended the organisers for selecting Kaisha.

Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from Twitter;

@Am_Salem “No sensible man from Arewa would ever allow his daughter to join #BBNaija. I wonder which part of the NORTH this “Aisha/Kaisha” comes from exactly. If she’s a Northerner, then definitely she’s not Hausa/Fulani, because shyness and modesty are part of our culture too.

“Whether Arewa Twitter support or drag “Aisha/Kaisha” off BBNaija , tribalism will kick her out of the race. Where she came from (North) is the problem.”
@WaseJamilu “Nobody will support Kaisha from Northern part of Nigeria.”

@GaiusHappie “I’m happy to see a Northern lady, I’m motivated.”
@Sallystorm12 “It’s like we having a good representative from the North. Just watching her”

@GaiusHappie “I’m happy to see a Northern lady, I’m motivated.”
@FarhanFarouk “She behaves like her dad is watching what she’s doing in Tv.”

@Yerima_Mercy “She really has a lot to face after leaving the house.Religious wahala.”

@meezyyyy “Don’t forget, the world has turned the other way round, many northerners don’t practice the culture anymore, but I think any well respected culture won’t condole this kind of act of BBN and nevertheless it’s a free but that doesn’t mean you won’t know right and wrong.”

@pebble_denz “I hope Arewa Twitter will let Kaisha survive this #BBNaija game in peace.”
@SageerA “I’m loving Kaisha, already reping us from the north side, Sokoto.(AREWA)

@SaniMaryama “It’s a show for all Nigerians though, Arewa should also be represented; Sokoto, Kano, Katsina. And why not Kaisha. Go girl.”
@KopNaija “Wow! A Sokoto girl in BBN house?
I will be watching her closely.”

BBNaija 2020: How season 5 housemates got to know each other after launch night

The Big Brother Naija season 5 Housemates made no mistake in getting to vibe with each other as they all made it into the house for the first time in their respective lives.

The environment was absolutely conducive for them after a welcome speech from Biggie and a tour of the house which the 20 gents and ladies had some hours after the launch show.

The bonding came to life as the housemates kicked off the introduction of themselves, their goals and the kinds of people they wish to have as romantic partners.
They told more about themselves by revealing to each other the plans they respectively have in and outside BBNaija house.

And they went on to throw more light on the physical features each of them desire in their prospective romantic partners ranging from dark to light-skinned and the sense they tend to have should the romantic tangling start.

Friendship and Closeness Underway
More like viewers are expecting, some housemates have began getting close and giving friendship greenlight as Lucy and Dorathy made us understand that it could start off from the dressing room.

And Vee sitting on Praise‘s lap on Sunday night seems too early for Ship vibes but as we may expect, even if they haven’t had that in mind, it could be seen that both of them are getting all the viewers will applaud on a long run.
Who Owns A Bed Space?
While part of settling in Biggie’s house is securing a place to sleep, a minor argument escalated over who has this space and what not. Prince got upset as a result of someone taking over his space, but that didn’t go anywhere further as the bad bloods were soon calmed and good vibe returned back in the house.

Now It’s Time To Play

The settling and introduction almost over for some Housemates to make their way into the bedroom, the rest decided to keep the feelings afresh with a game of Concentration. Neo, who took charge as the game master seemed suited for that and it’s a night.
Literally, a lot of excitement and good vibes are already in the house and Housemates looked charged up and ready to serve the viewers great contents. Let’s keep watching.

L[font=Crimson TextRooting, alliances, love and game on[/font]

The first day of Big Brother Naija Lockdown season 5 has begun and Housemates seem to be getting along with good vibes and we can attest to the love in the air.
Since the premiere night the previous day, Sunday, July 19, fans, viewers and lovers of the show have kept the social media buzzing with lots of unforseen but interesting drama, and the rapper and housememate, Laycon is already showing that he’s the center of excellence, but not to assume yet.

Some fans have shown so much interest on rooting for the young music star who was reported to be the best graduating student in Faculty of Art University of Lagos in 2016.

Alliances or love?
Housemates are already making up their minds with the person they wish to have as an alliance with or better put a partner. Erica earlier gave Ozo the greenlight but the young man has the focus on beauty queen, Nengi. And it’s very obvious the light-skinned Nengi and Ozo look absolutely perfect together. But the decision is left for them.

Lilo and Eric seem to have cuddled each other earlier hinting on what could result to Liric-Ship. Let’s wait and have more of them.

Laycon, From Shame To Fame: Meet The BBNaija Housemate Who Was Mocked Online

Olamilekan Agbeleshe known by his stage name Laycon is a 26 year old rapper and singer from Lagos. He graduated from the department of philosophy from the University of Lagos in 2016, and he was one of the best graduating student in his set.

Laycon started his music career at an early age and has now emerged as one of Nigeria's most promising act as his E.P which he dropped months back went from just some mere streams to a hundred thousands plus streams across all platforms after he was mocked online at the inception of the big brother show last night for looking malnourished like a kwashiorkor patient by lots of Nigerians. Many felt that he has no business at all in the house cause when he was asked what's his spec, he gave a rather not incline answer and was just staring staring at other housemates all through the night.

But as at filing this report, Laycon's shame has turned to fame as his fan base is now going high, he is the most trended housemate now and his fan base is increasing massively, top celebrities like Don Jazzy, Denrele Edun e.t.c are now rooting for him. His EP went from just 25 streams to 16,000 streams just last night. Could he be the next Efe who won the BBN show like this in 2017? Only time will tell. Like Efe who had a word associated with him "Base on logistics" Laycon's word now associated with him is, "Just have sense". He made this statement when he was asked what was his spec last night.

Laycon is currently the favourite and most talked about housemate at this moment. An interview with him, he revealed that he acquired an habit of reading his bible during the lockdown.

BBNaija: Vee Wrestled With Ka3na To Sleep Beside Praise

Last night, a minor wrestling broke out between Ka3na and Vee as both ladies struggled to sleep beside Praise for the night.

Ka3na was spotted with Praise lying on the bed, before she stood up and lost the spot to Vee who has been waiting patiently for the golden moment to occupy the spot once Ka3na gets out.

Apparently, she finally had her chance to sleep beside Praise for the night when Ka3na moved out of the bed, and she grabbed the opportunity immediately. However, after she laid down, Ka3na came back and the struggle began.
