Edo 2020: More Trouble For Obaseki As 5 Commissioners Are Set To Resign

Barring a last minute change of minds, five (5) out of the eighteen (18) commissioners in Gov. Godwin Obaseki’s cabinet, who are no longer comfortable with the leadership style of the Governor and his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, have indicated their intention to resign their appointments.

Contripeople gathered that the resignation is connected to their being fed up with the way the Governor has been using them as mere figureheads and rubber stamps, and with a penchant for blackmailing party members who stood and worked tirelessly for the him to emerge governor in 2016.

A source close to Government House said that “most of the commissioners were not in control of their ministries because they are used as errand men and women”.
