President Buhari, 'his rumoured' new wife and what Nigerians are saying on social media






This morning, Nigerians woke up to 'unconfirmed' reports that President Buhari will be taking a new wife on Friday, October 11th.
 
According to the media reports, 'President Buhari will be getting married in a very quiet ceremony to Sadia Umar Farouq, the current Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management tomorrow and will confirm the suspicions of concerned Nigerians over the whereabouts of Aisha Buhari'.

Back in Spetember 2019, several media outlets reported on the continued absence of the current First Lady, Aisha Buhari who has been totally incommunicado since her trip to the UK. She was said to have left the country in protest against “certain developments” at the presidency.
 
While the Presidency is yet to comment on the developing story, LIB reached out to Bashir Ahmad, the president's personal assistant on new media, for comments, but he didn't respond to our calls as at the time of this report.
 
Nigerians are however having a field day with the gist on social media.

Buhari Won't Marry Sadia Umar Farouq - Dele Momodu


A former presidential candidate and Publisher of the Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, has reacted to the rumour making the rounds that President Muhammadu Buhari was set to wed a second wife on Friday (today).

The rumour emerged from the Aso Rock that Buhari will be getting married in a very quiet ceremony to Sadia Umar Farouq, the current Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management on Friday.

This is following the continued absence of the current First Lady, Aisha who has been out of the Presidential Villa since her trips to Saudi Arabia and UK.

According to a source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Ms Farouk is a very close friend of Buhari and the Villa cabals love her.

But reacting to the claim, Momodu said there would be no such wedding between Buhari and Farouk.

He tweeted:

I have been inundated with calls, and social media is awash, about the news of the President’s impending wedding fatiha tomorrow; let me disappoint the rumour-mongers that nothing of the sort is happening tomorrow, according to my own impeccable sources… Fingers crossed.

Social media has been awash with salacious tales of President & Commander-in-Chief taking a new wife today but impeccable sources have dismissed the stories, pics videos, invitation cards, as handiwork of "irresponsible people seeking to cause confusion in the seat of government"
