Italian striker Manolo Gabbiadini tests positive for coronavirus
Former Southampton striker, Manolo Gabbiadini has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 28-year-old Italian footballer who currently plays for Sampdoria is now the second player in Serie A to test positive for the disease, after Juventus defender Daniele Rugani contracted the virus last night.Â

“Gabbiadini has a slight fever, but is otherwise fine,” read a statement released by Sampdoria.

“The club is activating all isolation procedures as set out by the authorities.”

Shortly after the announcement, Gabbiadini released his own statement saying: “I’ve tested positive for coronavirus,” he said. ”I want to thank you all for the many messages I’ve received.

“I also want to let you know that I’m fine, so don’t worry. Follow the rules, stay at home and everything will work out.”

Gabbidaini, who is an Italy international, has also played for Juventus, Napoli and Atalanta.
