I was forced by police to sign letter countering my rape case against Pastor Fatoyinbo - Busola Dakolo raises alarm




 
Busola Dakolo has raised an alarm of being forced at gun point by the police to sign a letter countering her rape allegations against Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo. 
 
Timi Dakolo's wife alleged that she was forced into a van by some armed men who ordered her to speak with their superior officer in Pidgin language. Busola who accused the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) church of raping her when she was still a teenager in Ilorin, said the document she was forced to sign contained allegations of “criminal conspiracy, falsehood, mischief and threat to life” levelled against her and her husband. 
 

“One was holding a gun and the second, a letter. They told me they were from IG’s (inspector general of police) office in Abuja and that I needed to sign this letter and acknowledge it,” Cableng reported she said. 

 
The mother  of three said the incident occurred after being followed by a tinted mini bus while driving home. Busola further disclosed that she was invited for questioning alongside her husband over allegations of “falsehood and criminal conspiracy" on July 23 by the special tactical squad of the inspector general of police (IGP), who never extended same to Pastor Fatoyinbo. 
 

“Our culture doesn’t allow speaking of these sorts of things against anointed men of God. They’d rather hide it, and the party that is being victimized tends to live with that self-blame,” she said.
“The damage on the survivor is extremely terrible but the society, the church, keeps sweeping things under the carpet.”

 
Recall that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo returned to the pulpit on August 4, weeks after stepping down following a protest.

Nigerians have attacked Busola Dakolo, wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo, for claiming she was forced to sign a letter countering her allegation that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) raped her.

Busola, a mother of three, told the Guardian of UK that a silver Toyota tailed her as she was driving home and a white minibus with tinted windows was parked outside her house.

By the time she got to her gate, the minibus with no police markings had blocked her path.

According to her, a man appeared and told her to get out of her car, get into the bus and speak to his boss.

She said when she refused, three men got out of the minibus and walked towards her.

“One was holding a gun, and I noticed a second one holding a letter. They told me they were from IG’s (the inspector general of police) office in Abuja and that I needed to sign this letter and acknowledge it,” Busola said in the interview.

She said it was “extremely intimidating” to have a gunman emerge from a darkened minibus, and that she eventually complied out of shock.

Nigerians on Twitter, apparently in doubt of her story, have begun spitting fire at her family.

Busola Dakolo: I Didn’t Sign Any Counter-petition Against Pastor Fatoyinbo


Busola Dakolo, wife of popular singer, Timi Dakolo, has said that she did not sign a letter countering her allegation that Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) raped her.

Busola, a mother of three, had told the Guardian of UK that she was tailed while driving home by police officers in unmarked vehicles.

“One was holding a gun, and I noticed a second one holding a letter. They told me they were from IG’s (the inspector general of police) office in Abuja and that I needed to sign this letter and acknowledge it,” Busola said in the interview.

She added that it was “extremely intimidating” to have a gunman emerge from a darkened minibus, and that she eventually complied out of shock.

Following knocks at her claim on social media, the photographer said in a post on Instagram on Wednesday that she did not sign a counter-petition or agree to any counter-petition.

“The interview with the UK Guardian was held two weeks ago when the police came to my house. It is not a new interview. I did not sign a counter petition or acquiesce to any counter petition,” she said.

“I am very grateful for all those who have reached out, including from institutions that are to help us get justice.

“Our legal and police case continues. This has not ended by any chance. This is about many young girls who must know they can get justice when they speak. I continue to be resolute and thank you for standing with us.”

Busola accused Fatoyinbo of raping her as a teenager. The preacher has, however, returned to the pulpit one month after stepping down following the storm that greeted the allegation.

Timi Dakolo has taken to Instagram to stand by his wife following recent revelation that she was forced by police at gunpoint to sign letter countering her rape case against Biodun Fatoyinbo (read here).
 
Busola also said that the legal and police case still continues in spite of attempts by the pastor and his supporters to intimidate and silence her (read here).
 
Shortly after her revelation, her supportive husband, Timi Dakolo reshared her post and wrote: "NO AMOUNT OF LIES CAN PUT DOWN A HEART THAT HAS NO ROOM FOR FEAR.NO MIND TROLLS DEM,THEIR PAGES WERE CREATED SO THEY CAN DO SUCH..INFACT IGNORE. "
