Neymar sends strong message to PSG over his future after 1-0 win over Bordeaux
on
September 29, 2019
Brazil forward, Neymar, has vowed to “give my life to PSG”, after his goal kept the French giants top of Ligue 1, with a 1-0 win at Bordeaux.
Neymar had been strongly linked to a return to Barcelona over a tumultuous summer.
However, in an attempt to win over PSG fans, many of whom have become unconvinced by the player’s attachment to the club, Neymar has looked a rejuvenated figure, scoring for a third time this season.
“I’m very happy to be able to help PSG, it’s better with the fans.
“It’s like with your girlfriend, one moment you’re bad, but with hugs and a lot of love, it’s better.
“I am here to give my life to PSG. They are my team, my goal is to help my club, to continue to score goals,” he told reporters after the game.

EPL: Lampard singles out one Chelsea player after 2-0 win over Brighton
Published
on
September 28, 2019
Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, says he has been surprised at how quickly Mason Mount has established himself in his team.
The England international thrived under Lampard while on loan at Derby County in the Championship last season and has quickly adjusted to life in the Premier League.
After a frustrating goalless first half against Brighton on Saturday, it took Mount pouncing on an error by Adam Webster, to win the penalty from which Jorginho opened the scoring.
Willian made the points safe with a deflected effort in the 76th minute.
Lampard told reporters after the game: “The all-round game and quality of Mason.
“He is the cataylst for us getting in front with his sharpness.
“He was brilliant for me at Derby. I did not expect this level but he he is improving daily.
“It is great for the club and a long time coming. The work is done in the academy. The mentality is great. They want to play for this club.
“At the moment they are earning it and setting a level for others. I have complete confidence in the lads.
“They are there on merit. Whatever game they take it on board and long may it continue.”

EPL: Unai Emery singles out one Arsenal player after 1-1 draw with Man Utd
on
October 1, 2019
Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has said Bukayo Saka is “working and improving”, following the teenager’s impressive outing against Manchester United on Monday.
At 18 years and 125 days old, Saka became the youngest player to start a match between the two sides in the Premier League.
Emery was full of praise for the teenager, who assisted Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as his team forced the Red Devils to a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford.
“I think he’s working and improving, being mature and also playing matches in front of each player and each team as tonight against Manchester United.
“But his work is natural and he is improving. He is helping us now as an important player.
“We are going to work with him with him with calm, with patience, but if he deserves to take minutes and to take confidence for helping us with his performance, that is fantastic for us,” Emery was quoted as saying by the Arsenal website.

EPL: Solskjaer names one Arsenal player that impressed him in 1-1 draw
on
October 1, 2019
Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has admitted he is impressed with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s run of form, following their 1-1 draw with Arsenal on Monday evening.
Scott McTominay put United ahead at Old Trafford on the stroke of half time, but Aubameyang equalised in the second half, after VAR overturned the assistant referee’s initial offside call.
Aubameyang has now scored seven goals in as many Premier League games.
When asked about the Gabonese’s goal against United, Solskjaer told Sky Sports: “Good finish by the boy.
“He’s seven now in seven games, so that’s clinical.
“You think at the time maybe that Harry [Maguire] managed to get out but it was a few yards onside and a good finish.”

Tammy Abraham Ready To Accept England To End Debate Over International Future
Tammy Abraham is ready to accept an England call-up if Gareth Southgate picks the striker in his squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Czech Republic and Bulgaria - a move that could seal Abraham’s international future , dashing Nigeria’s hopes of poaching him.
Southgate names his squad for England’s double-header on Thursday with Abraham waiting to see whether or not his good form for Chelsea will be enough to earn him a place in the squad.
Nigeria have been attempting to convince Abraham to switch his international allegiance, despite the fact the 21-year-old has already won two senior England caps in friendlies against Germany and Brazil. Abraham has not publicly committed himself to either county, but it is understood he wants to play for England and would accept a call from Southgate if it came.
He qualifies for Nigeria through his father, who is close childhood friends with the president of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick.
Were Abraham to make any sort of appearance for England against Czech Republic or Bulgaria, then he would be committed to the Three Lions for the rest of his life because the two games are European Championship qualifiers.
Abraham has netted seven goals in the Premier League this season , only one less than Sergio Aguero, which makes him the highest scoring Englishman in the top flight.
Southgate revealed that Abraham was very much on his radar during the last international break in which he selected Kane, Marcus Rashford and Callum Wilson as his out-and-out strikers.
There is a fitness check to be madeover Rashford and Southgate also has the option of making space for a fourth striker by dropping out-of-form Jesse Lingard .
Southgate’s England staff have requested the medical records of Abraham from Chelsea ahead of his latest squad announcement. Other than Abraham, Nigeria are also interested in trying to poach his Chelsea team-mate Fikayo Tomori, who has represented England and Canada at youth level.
Southgate will again be without John Stones, but it remains to be seen whether he sticks with the quartet of Harry Maguire, Michael Keane, Joe Gomez and Tyrone Mings.
Tomori has already been rewarded for his impressive Chelsea performances with the offer of a new contract, which he is expected to sign.
Lampard revealed ahead of the victory over Brighton that 21-year-old Tomori is currently one of his first two picks at centre-back.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Billy Gilmour have already signed new deals with Abraham and Tomori next in line.

Football club Nice sack teenage star Diaby-Fadiga after he admitted stealing team-mate Kasper Dolberg's £62k watch from dressing room safe
French football club, Nice has sacked teenage player Lamine Diaby-Fadiga after he admitted stealing team-mate Kasper Dolberg's £62k watch from the dressing room safe.
Dolberg was left furious when his expensive timepiece went missing on September 16 and reported the issue to Police. 18-year-old Lamine Diaby-Fadiga later admitted stealing the watch internally last week, and has since apologised to Dolberg and even agreed to reimburse him the money.
But the French club have terminated Diaby-Fadiga's contract. He will now join Ligue 2 side Paris FC on a free transfer.
A club statement said: 'Following the confession of the player, the Club made the decision to break the contract of the attacker... with immediate effect.'
'Beyond any sporting and financial considerations, OGC Nice can not afford to accept such behavior and to ignore such a fault,' the club statement continued.
'It is about his credibility, about the trust that unites all his employees and, more broadly, all the members of the red and black family.'

Italian Mafia made me leave AC Milan - Taribo West
Nigerian football legend, Taribo West has blamed his quick exit from AC Milan on the Italian Mafia which he said couldn't stand having an African player in the team.
Recounting how he joined Derby County on loan after signing a deal with The Rossoneri from city rivals Inter Milan in December 1999, he said Doctors were bribed to tell journalists that he was injured.
Taribo West said the "criminal organization" felt it was unthinkable for an African player to take the place of those three aging defenders; Allesandro Costacurta, Paolo Maldini and Franco Baresi.
Quote:“The Mafia would do anything in their powers to make sure I was done with at Milan,” Taribo told ScoreNigeria.
“They cooked a vicious story in the press that I was injured in the desperate bid to send me out of Milan.
“The doctors were bribed to say I was injured, but it was a lie. They did that because they felt it was unthinkable for an African player to take the place of those three aging defenders.
“Liverpool came with an offer, but at the end of the day, I had to settle for Derby County" he added.

Stay Calm, Pochettino Tells Players After 7-2 Champions League Defeat
Tottenham Hotspur coach, Mauricio Pochettino’s message was to ‘stay calm’ after Bayern Munich racked up a clinical 7-2 win in the Champions League on Tuesday night. “We started well, created chances and took a deserved lead on 12 minutes through Heung-Min Son. However, Joshua Kimmich levelled soon after and the visitors forged ahead via Robert Lewandowski just before half-time.
“2-1 became 4-1 within 10 minutes of the second half as Serge Gnabry struck twice in three minutes. Harry Kane gave us hope from the penalty spot for 4-2 just after the hour and it stayed that way until three goals in the final seven minutes – Gnabry hitting his third and fourth, Lewandowski his second. Every strike clinical, Pochettino lamented.
“To stay calm is most important, to stay together,” said Pochettino. “The right assessment is so important, not to take rash decisions and make a rash assessment. It’s so important to stay calm.” He argued that his team actually started well, stressing that after 30 minutes, no-one expected the final scoreline to be so embarrassing. Pochettino added that Bayern were very clinical in front of goal, maintaining that every time they arrived, they scored.
“The feeling is so bad, but we need to stay all together, to be strong all together and move on. We damaged our pride but now we need to stay together and from tomorrow, to think and move on. “It’s difficult to say something for our fans. We feel embarrassed for the result, but what I can say is that we feel as bad as they feel, very disappointed and we need to bounce back all together again. “To stay together is most important.”

Coach Gernot Rohr dismisses rumors Super Eagles lost to Madagascar because of his wife
Super Eagles Head coach, Gernot Rohr has dismissed claims that his players lost their final AFCON 2019 qualifying game against Madagascar because his wife is from the country.
The Super Eagles players had already qualified for the knockout stages of the AFCON 2019 in Egypt, which led Rohr to rest key players and play the second team- a decision that backfired as Nigeria lost by two goals to Madagascar.
Reports then surfaced that Rohr was married to a Malagasy (someone from Madagascar) and because of that didn't treat the group game like he treated the previous encounters, but he has now dismmised those suggestions calling them 'absurd'.
In an interview with German newspaper Mannheimer Morgen this week, Rohr explained : ''Some people really wanted the title, but of course we did not. There was a lack of trifles. The success hung by the thread.
''But some criticism cannot be taken seriously. Bad tongues have claimed that we deliberately lost to Madagascar because my wife came from there. That is absurd.''
Gernot Rohr’s next assignment will be on Sunday, October 13, when Super Eagles face Brazil in international friendly game at the Singapore National Stadium in Kallang.

LaLiga: Barcelona ready to sell Griezmann “over Messi relationship”
Published
Barcelona is already considering selling Antoine Griezmann next summer, despite only signing him this summer from Atletico Madrid for £107million.
Griezmann has scored three times in seven LaLiga appearances so far, but has publicly admitted he is struggling to form a relationship with captain Lionel Messi.
According to French publication, Le10sport, Barcelona have taken this admission so seriously, that they are considering the France foward and will make another attempt to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.
Barca chiefs believe that an offer of cash plus Griezmann, could be too good for PSG to refuse.
Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez formed a fearsome partnership during their time together between 2014-2017 and they were widely regarded as one of the deadliest attacking trios of all time.
