Tyson Fury with an almost blind eye, defeats Otto Wallin in 12 rounds(photos)







British Heavyweight, Tyson Fury, despite being blind in one eye for a majority of the match, held his own, and took down the undefeated Swedish fighter, Otto Wallin in their heavyweight boxing fight Saturday night.
 
The undefeated Fury, standing at 6ft9, won the 12-round bout against Otto Wallin, 6ft5, in a unanimous decision and with the victory, Fury improves to 29-0-1, including 20 wins by knockout, setting up a mouth watering multi-million dollar rematch fight with Deontay Wilder next.
 

 
According to the three judges, Tyson Fury won 116-112, 117-111 and 118-110
"It was a great fight ... For a majority of the fight I couldn't see out of my left eye," Fury said to ESPN after the fight.
 

 
“That was just what I needed, I will get the eye stitched up and come back ten times stronger. I had one eye from the third round.
“There was no sense of panic, I am a Gypsy warrior. Just congratulations to Otto Wallin.
“I enjoyed feeling a bit of blood spilling into my mouth. Now lets just get Deontay Wilder on February 22.”
 
Wallin said: "I did everything I could, I tried my best and Tyson is a great champion. Nobody can question my heart or question that I'm a good fighter."
 
Wallin, who lost for the first time in 21 outings, was seen as an easy night's work on Fury's route to a rematch with WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder but he admitted he tried to hit Fury's cut "even more" and his come-forward tactics delivered a true scrap.

Neymar was booed by his own fans throughout his Paris St-Germain return against Strasbourg - then scored an injury-time overhead-kick winner.

The Brazil forward missed the opening five games as he tried and failed to seal a move back to Barcelona.

"It is not the first time I have been booed by everyone," said the 27-year-old.

"It is sad but I know that, from now on, every game I play will be an away game."

PSG ultras booed Neymar when his name was read out before the game, when he touched the ball, when he took a corner and when he shot wide.

There was a mix of cheers and boos after he scored the late winner.

Neymar added: "I made it clear I have nothing against the fans, nothing against Paris St-Germain as a club.

"Everyone knows I wanted to leave. I am not going to get into the details of what happened.

"It is time to turn the page. Today I am a Paris St-Germain player and I am going to give everything on the field."

Neymar's goal - earning his side a 1-0 victory - was a sensational acrobatic volley from Abdou Diallo's cross which went in off the post.

Neymar had the ball in the net for the second time moments later but it was disallowed by the video assistant referee for offside.

There were also chants and banners using vulgar language about Neymar, including a reference to the 20m euros he had reportedly said he would pay in order to join Barcelona.

The forward wanted to move back to Catalonia in the summer, but Barcelona were unable to reach an agreement with PSG.

He missed the Trophee des Champions and opening four Ligue 1 games, only returning after the close of the transfer window.

There were also PSG debuts for goalkeeper Keylor Navas and striker Mauro Icardi, on loan from Real Madrid and Inter Milan respectively, while former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera made his Ligue 1 debut in the second half.

Neymar will be unavailable for PSG's next game - Wednesday's Champions League home match with Real Madrid - because of a three-match European suspension.

British boxer, Tyson Fury, early Sunday morning, retained the lineal heavyweight champions belt by defeating Otto Wallin in the 12th round, but that didn't come easy as Fury suffered a ,  nasty cut in the third round just above his right eye from a head shot by Wallin
 
The cut was so deep, Fury would have lost the fight if the doctor or referee deemed him unable to see. Fury after the fight was rushed to the hospital for immediate surgery.

Mourinho hails Messi, reveals what Barcelona captain did for him

Former Manchester United and Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho has praised Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi for making him a better coach.
The 56-year-old faced Messi’s Barcelona side 13 times during his time as Real Madrid coach between 2010 and 2013.

Mourinho, who has been out of job, since he was sacked by Man United from Old Trafford last December, also came up against Messi-lead Barca while at the helm of Chelsea and Inter respectively.
But the Portuguese now believes the experience of facing the Argentina captain was beneficial to him as a coach.
“I always say that I owe so much to my players, as to those who have not been my players and have created problems for me,” Mourinho was quoted by FourFourTwo as saying.

“For example, Messi never played on my team but I played against him and he has made me a better coach for having to prepare matches, for having to organize my team.
“When I say Messi I also say all the great players I have played against.”

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, has said that his side paid for their failure to take their chances, as they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Norwich City on Saturday.
Guardiola’s team beat Liverpool to the title by one point last season, after winning their last 14 games.

But after five games of this season they already trail Jurgen Klopp’s side by five points in the table.
City won 32 of 38 games last season, losing only twice and they had not suffered a league defeat since their 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on January 29.
“Sometimes games like this happen — we had our chances to score but didn’t, so congratulations to Norwich.

“The first one was a set piece we didn’t defend, the second we were caught on the counter-attack and the third came from a mistake, but we know what we are as a team, we know what we have done and we know what we are going to do,” Guardiola told the media after the game.

Man Utd vs Leicester: Solskjaer issues strong warning to Rashford, Lingard

Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has spoken separately to Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford, about concentrating on their football rather than their profiles, according to the UK Sun.
Lingard and Rashford are two of the most popular players in the United squad, with the former launching his own fashion label last year.

But Solskjaer and his assistant, Mike Phelan, have spoken to the England stars, about putting their football first.
United’s 1-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday eased the pressure on Solskjaer, but the coach was concerned with Lingard’s commitments outside of football.
The Norwegian warned Lingard to put work on his brand on the backburner, while he focuses on improving.

Rashford was given the same warning, as Solskjaer feared he could be similarly distracted.

Manchester United centre-back, Harry Maguire has called on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to build on their win over Leicester City after their Saturday’s Premier League 1-0 victory at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford scored from the spot to give Solskjaer’s side all three points against the Foxes.

Maguire, who joined Man United from Leicester City in the summer transfer window, wants the Red Devils to continue to keep ‘clean sheet’ at Old Trafford after defeating his former side.
“It was tough playing against Jamie [Vardy]. I’ve played with him for two years and he is a top player who can terrorise defences when he is on his game,” Maguire was quoted by Metro UK as saying after the match.
“We knew it was important to get the win, especially after the international break.

“We have to build on a solid base and we want to keep clean sheets, especially at Old Trafford.
“We are always going to score goals with the attacking talent we have. We could have kept the ball better but we defended well.
“The boys who came in looked sharp and fit and a big well done to them.

“We have games coming thick and fast and I’m sure the manager will utilise the squad, so be patient and take you chance when you get it.”
Man United will take on West Ham United in their next Premier League fixture on September 22.

On-loan Arsenal forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan scored on his debut as AS Roma beat Sassuolo 4-2 in Serie A.

The Armenia international scored his side's third goal with a low strike after Bryan Cristante's header and a volley from Edin Dzeko had put Roma in control.

Justin Kluivert's composed finish made it 4-0 and although Domenico Berardi hit a brace for Sassuolo it was too little too late.

The win was Roma's first of the season.

They are seventh with five points after a win and two draws from their three games so far.

"I Had Over 40 Stiches" - Tyson Fury After Bloody Eye Cut During Fight (Photos)

Boxer Tyson Fury has said he is "ready for war" with Deontay Wilder in February despite concerns the severe cuts suffered in his heavyweight win over Otto Wallin could delay any fight, MySportDab reports.

Speaking to BBC Sport as he was ushered through the airportin Las Vegas on Sunday, the 31-year British fighter said "just over 40 stitches" were needed for two cuts suffered against Wallinon Saturday.

"I went to the hospital, had a few stitches, went home and had an early night," he said.

"Then I've got up, gone to the casino, won five grand, had a few beers and now I'm going to have a few more beers."

Fury added: "I'm ready for war. I think it was just over 40 stitches inside and out with both the cuts.

"Listen I'm all right. It's boxing. You can't go swimming and not get wet. It's the fight game."

Tyson Fury was taken straight to hospital following his fight with Otto Wallin after suffering a brutal cut above his eye.

Fury beat Wallin by unanimous decision after being taken 12 rounds by the Swede.

But Fury had to deal with a nasty cut to the eye for most of the fight with some even fearing he may not be able to continue.

And rather than do the media duties after the match Fury was taken straight to hospital to get his cut checked out.

David de Gea finally signs new long-term contract at Manchester United until 2023 for £375,000 a week (Photos)






David de Gea has officially signed a long-term contract with Manchester United that will keep him at Old Trafford club until June 2023.
 
The 28-year-old Spanish goalkeeper has put pen to paper on a £375,000-a-week deal that also includes the option to extend for a further year. 
 
The new deal makes him the highest-paid player at Manchester United. 
 
On inking the new deal, De Gea said: 'It has been a privilege to spend eight years at this great club and the opportunity to continue my career at Manchester United is a genuine honour. 
 
'Since I arrived here, I could never have imagined I would play over 350 games for this club. 

Now my future is fixed, all I want is to help this team achieve what I believe we can and win trophies again, together.
 
'As one of the senior players in the squad, I want to support and lead in any way that I can to assist the younger players, so they know what it means to play here.

Jurgen Klopp’s agent reveals boss may not sign new deal because of shocking British weather; Klopp responds






Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp, could leave the club soon due to the bad weather in the United Kingdom, Klopp's agent Marc Kosicke has revealed.
 
Klopp joined Liverpool from Dortmund and has a contract till 2022. The former German footballer is stalling on signing a new contract with the Merseyside club and his agent has now revealed that the weather and not footballing reasons could push his client to leave the UK. 
 
His agent Marc Kosicke explained to Spox: "Jurgen's contract is still valid until 2022 and it is an open secret that the club would like to extend.
"We still have a little time for that. We must wait and see how everything develops and whether climate change will bring better weather to England or only to Germany."
 
While managing in the Bundesliga, Klopp would escape the bleak conditions in Germany by jetting off on holiday during the annual two-week winter break.
 
Kosicke added: "One should not underestimate it (bad weather annoying Klopp), anyway. I remember that in November or December, Liverpool first asked for a contract extension. I said: "Let's wait".
 

 
"Ulla (Klopp's wife) and Jurgen get up in the morning and it's dark. When they meet again in the evening, it is also dark or it is grey and there is drizzle.
"During the winter break in Germany, if the weather is really bad, the clubs go on vacation for two weeks, then come back and fly directly to the training camp in the sun for several days.
"During this time, the coaches in England sometimes have to prepare for up to 13 games. They are already exhausted and it's not so easy."
 
But speaking on Monday night to Sky Sports, Klopp dismissed the story, saying: "There is nothing in that story.
"He wanted to make a joke so now I have to be serious.
"It is German humour but obviously nobody got it...I am completely fine with the weather.
"Let me spell it out, the weather has never been a reason for me to choose a city and it's certainly not a reason for me to leave the country.
"Maybe at the moment (in England) it's the most healthy weather in the world - we have enough rain, it's cool, pretty much the opposite of this room!
"There's nothing in that story. He's my agent and my friend.
"When I speak about the weather it was about the wind which can have an effect on football, but that is not allowed in England. But that is not to a reason leave the country. I am fine."

Last week, a former trainer, Britney Taylor accused the seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver and one of the NFL’s most prolific pass-catchers of the past decade of raping her in a lawsuit filed on Tuesday, September 10. 
 
In a new report, a woman who claims Brown hired her to paint a mural on a wall of his Pittsburgh-area home has accused him of sexual harassment. While at Brown’s residence, the woman alleges the receiver sexually harassed her as she painted his mural in 2017. 
 
Speaking with Sports Illustrated, she said :
 
“He was flirty with me but I paid him no mind because I was there on business, plus, I had already seen him with multiple girls in the short time I was with him. I was about 40% done on the second day, and I’m on my knees painting the bottom, and he walks up to me butt-ass naked, with a hand cloth covering his [penis] and starts having a conversation with me.”
 
Brown’s new accuser says she never filed a police report or took action against Brown and doesn’t plan to pursue legal action in the future, according to the reports.

Super Eagles To Face Brazil In International Friendly In Singapore

The Super Eagles of Nigeria to take on the 5-time world cup winners, Brazil in an international friendly match on October 13, 2019.

The Super Eagles last week which faced Ukraine in a friendly that ended in a 2-2 draw are already preparing ahead for their international friendly with Brazil.

In a press release via the Brazilian Football Confederation, the venue for the international friendly has been fixed for Singapore.
Gernot Rohr which is using these matches to prepare the Super Eagles ahead of the November’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers with Benin Republic and Lesotho.

The Selecao said that they have picked Nigeria, because they are ranked among the best two teams in Africa and also for their physical football too.

Three days earlier than that, Tite’s Brazilian squad will face 2019 Afcon runners-up Senegal at the National Stadium in Singapore.

Terrence Francis & Dwayne Allen Struck By Lightning During Cup Match


Here is the shocking moment lightning struck players in a Cup football match between Wolmer's Boys' School and Jamaica College (JC) at the Stadium East field, resulting in the match being called off, MySportDab reports.

Jamaica College player, Terrence Francis, along with Dwayne Allen of Wolmer's, were both taken to hospital for observation after the incident, with Francis having to be stretchered off the field after he failed to respond to treatment on the field of play.

It is understood that the incident occurred in the 84th minute of the contest, when four players collapsed — two from each team.

Referee Karl Tyrell called off the contest and the four players were attended to, but Francis's condition appeared more serious.

Allen, who along with three of his teammates and another player from JC, went down immediately after the flash of lightning, got up and seemed okay at first.

But upon observation by medical personnel, was advised to join Francis to be taken to the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI), watch the video below...

Champions Liverpool falls to Napoli

Liverpool began their Champions League title defence with a 2-0 defeat away to Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo on Tuesday.

Dries Mertens scored from the penalty spot with eight minutes remaining after Andy Robertson tripped Jose Callejon inside the box.

Napoli substitute Fernando Llorente added a second in stoppage time to put the result beyond doubt.

Champions League: Christensen names Chelsea best penalty taker after Barkley’s miss against Valencia

Chelsea defender, Andreas Christensen, has insisted that midfielder, Ross Barkley is one of the best penalty takers at the club, after the England international missed from the spot, in their 1-0 defeat to Valencia in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
Given the chance to level the tie at Stamford Bridge, Barkley saw his effort come off the bar.

Before then, the former Everton man was caught on camera, telling team-mates Jorginho and Willian to back off.
But Christensen now believes that Barkley is going to take the next penalty for Chelsea going forward.

“We know Ross, he is going to take the next one as well, he always feels confident with penalties, he is one of the best ones which is why he was on the penalty today,” Christensen was quoted by Chelsea’s official website as saying after the match.

He added: “We felt we were on top for most of the game. Valencia had some spells but we knew that was going to happen and we were ready for it. We kept working. Our work ethic was good all game and it felt we controlled most of it which is why it is tough to accept the goal against and the result in the end.

“We are not happy to let goals in from those situations and we know it can be costly, but now we look forward to the next game.”

Ajax Amsterdam gave a powerful reminder of their Champions League potential with a resounding 3-0 win over Lille in Amsterdam on Tuesday at the start of the group phase.
Last season’s surprise package look hellbent on a repeat of their heroics, which got them all the way from the preliminary rounds to the semi-finals.

And goals from Quincy Promes, Edson Alvarez and Nicolas Tagliafico ensured an emphatic start to Group H.
Having come through the preliminary rounds again, Ajax went ahead when Promes, one of their new signings, powered home a header after 18 minutes.
He got in-between two Lille defenders at the back post to finish off Tagliafico’s cross.

Alvarez, also bought since last season’s run to the final four of the Champions League, added the second goal in the 50th minute.
David Neres slipped him in with a short pass and the Mexican international hooked a stinging shot in from a tight angle.
Fullback Tagliafico, one of the smallest on the pitch at 1.73 metres, then rose majestically to head home Hakim Ziyech’s 62nd-minute corner and extend the Dutch club’s lead.

Lille, back in the Champions League for the first time since the 2012-13 season, had chances.
The visitors saw Jonathan Ikone, Victor Osimhen and Mehmet Zeki Celik all hit good efforts straight at Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.
In the last minute, substitute Yusuf Yazici crashed a shot against the upright but then hit the rebound over the top in the closest that last season’s Ligue 1 runners-up came to scoring.
Ajax are next away at Valencia on Oct. 2, while Lille host Chelsea the same night.

After months of transfer speculation linking Man U. defensive star, Victor Lindelof with  a transfer to Spanish club, Barcelona, Victor has finally put pen to paper on a new five year deal that runs till 2024.
 
Lindelof has forged a good partnership with new signing, Harry Maguire and is seen as one of the best defenders in the English Premier league.
 

 
Swede, Lindelof, who has played 31 times for his country, said on Wednesday of his new deal: “Since the day I arrived at United it has felt like home.
“I have grown significantly both as a player and as a person in the last two years and for that I am grateful to everyone at the club for their help and support.
“I love playing football and my aim now is to help the team to win trophies and repay the fans for their unrivalled support.
“I’m still young and know I can improve further but with the help of the boss and his coaching staff, I believe that only good things are ahead for this great club.
I know that everyone at the club shares this vision and will give everything to get Manchester United  back to where it belongs.
