Manchester United striker, Romelu Lukaku, has cast doubts over his future at Old Trafford.
Lukaku has emerged as a reported target for Inter Milan, after previously admitting it would be a “dream” to play in Serie A at some point in his career.

New Inter head coach Antonio Conte is reportedly keen to sign the Belgian, having missed out on him during his time in charge of Chelsea, after he opted to join Premier League rivals United for £75million ($95m) in 2017.
Lukaku was asked about his future following Belgium’s 3-0 Euro 2020 qualifying win over Scotland on Tuesday and the 26-year-old did little to dismiss rumours of a potential Old Trafford exit.
“I have a contract with Man United.

“I’ll speak with my club and my agent Federico Pastorello to make the best decision.
“I am going to enjoy my holidays with my family now. I know what I’ll do but won’t say it.
“We’ll see. If I expect a busy summer? Yes,” he replied.

Lukaku is contracted to the Red Devils until 2022, with the option of a further year.

Real Madrid Unveil Luka Jovic After Signing For £62m From Frankfurt

Luka Jovic has completed his Real Madrid medical as he prepares to be formally unveiled at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

The Serbian striker completed his £62million move from Frankfurt earlier this month and will wear the club's iconic white strip for the first time today.

Jovic penned a six-year contract with the Spanish giants as he became their fourth most-expensive signing ever, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and fellow new boy Eden Hazard.

The 21-year-old has already completed his medical with a series of tests at the city's La Moraleja University Hospital. 

He bagged 17 goals in 32 appearances in the Bundesliga while adding 10 goals in 14 Europa League matches as Eintracht reached the semi-final stage of the competition.

Real Madrid sign Ferland Mendy as they complete 5th signing of window and take summer spending up to £344m



 



Spanish giants, Real Madrid have just announced their fifth signing of the summer after completing a deal for Lyon and France left-back, Ferland Mendy.

The 24-year-old has signed a six-year contract and joins Eder Militao, Eden Hazard, Rodrygo and Luka Jovic in moving to Zinedine Zidane's side as they look to rebuild after a disappointing campaign last season.

The French football star will be presented as a Real Madrid player at the Bernabeu on June 19, while Eden Hazard will be presented in front of the fans on Thursday.

Serbian striker Luka Jovic was unveiled today as the most expensive center-forward in the history of Real Madrid.

President Florentino Perez said on Wednesday: 'The start of an exciting new project for next season.' 
 
He added: 'This has not been the year we had hoped for and we are going to react with strength.' 

With the arrival of these players, Real Madrid have taken their summer spending spree up  to  £344m.

Manchester United unveil Welsh winger Daniel James as first signing of the summer following £17m move from Swansea (Photos)






Manchester United have unveiled Daniel James as their first signing of the summer after completing a £17million deal to sign the Wales winger from Swansea.

The 21-year-old agreed to a five-year contract worth £67,000-a-week at Old Trafford with the option to extend it by another year.
 

'This is one of the best days of my life and a challenge I am really looking forward to,' said James who only made his professional debut for Swansea in February last year.

'The Premier League is the best league in the world and Manchester United is the perfect place for me to continue to develop as a player.

'This is an incredibly proud moment for me and my family, however, it is tinged with sadness that my father isn't able to share this experience with us.
 
'I am looking forward to working with Ole, meeting the team and getting started.'

Speaking on his first signing of the summer, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said: 'Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic.
 
'He had a great season with Swansea City and has all the attributes needed to become a Manchester United player.
 
'We are delighted he has signed with our club and we are all looking forward to working with him. This is the perfect environment for Daniel to continue his development.'

FIFA Women’s World Cup: Nigeria beat South Korea 2 - 0 






The Super Falcons of Nigeria have kept their hope of qualifying for the next round at the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup in France after beating South Korea 2 - 0 this afternoon.

An own goal from South Korean defender Kim Doyeon and smooth solo goal from Barcelona’s striker Asisat Oshoala were enough to wrap up the victory for Nigeria.

The goal by Asisat makes her the second Nigerian to score in two different Women's World Cup tournaments  (2015 & 2019),  after Rita Nwadike (1995 & 1999).

The win for comes after the Super Falcons suffered a 3-0 loss to Norway in their opening game.
 
Nigeria will now face host nation France in their final group game with hope of making it to the knockout stages.

The match will take place on June 17  at Roazhon Park in Rennes.

Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala on Wednesday was voted the Player of the Match award after putting up a brilliant display for the Super Falcons in their 2-0 victory against Korea Republic at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup.

It was Oshoala’s first goal of the tournament but her second for the senior team in the World Cup.

The Super Falcons now have three points after today’s victory and face France in their last group match next Monday. A win against the host side will see the Africa champions progress to the round of 16.

Next season's Premier League fixtures have allegedly been 'leaked' online screenshot was published by Dailymail.co.uk which revealed the match day one fixtures of the Premier League.

The fixtures revealed Canaries will travel to Tottenham in the lunchtime kick-off on Saturday August 10, while the opening weekend will finish with champions Manchester City away at Wolves.

Elsewhere, Manchester United will start with a home game against Brighton, while Arsenal travel to Crystal Palace.

The United clash is said to be the late game on Super Sunday, while Championship play-off winners Aston Villa host Leicester in the early game.

The new campaign begins on the weekend of August 10, a week after the Community Shield between Manchester City and Liverpool at Wembley.

The official Premier League fixtures are released at 9am on Thursday morning.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria began their second phase of preparations for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations by training today in Ismailia, Egypt, eleven days to the kick off of the tournament.

The team, it’s technical and administrative officials landed in the city of Ismailia last night after coach Gernot Rohr dropped Kelechi Iheanacho and Oluwasemilogo Ajayi from the provisional 25-man list.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) allowed the Warriors of Zimbabwe with whom the Eagles played a 0-0 draw in a friendly on Saturday, fly together with the Nigerian contingent to Ismailia aboard a chartered MAX Air flight from Asaba. The aircraft refueled at the Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano before heading for Ismailia.
The three–time African champions are staying at the Hotel Mercure in Ismailia, where they will spend one week before heading to Alexandria – venue of their Group B matches during the championship.
On Sunday, 16th June, the Eagles will file out against Senegal’s Lions of Teranga (Africa’s number one–ranked team) in their final pre-AFCON friendly, in Ismailia.

EPL: Arsenal tell Nigerian attacking midfielder to leave club



Nigerian youngster George Okoye has been released by Premier League side Arsenal.
The player was not offered a scholarship by the Gunners ahead of the 2019-2020 campaign.

Okoye attended Dagenham Park Church of England School and used to play for Sunday team Freestylers before he was recommended to The Gunners.
Playing as an attacking midfielder, Okoye was a member of the Arsenal U15 side at the prestigious Marveld Tournament in 2017.
Other members of the squad of Nigerian descent were England U17 star Miguel Azeez, Mazeed Ogungbo, Armstrong Oko-Flex, Ovie Ejeheri and Malcolm Ebiowei.

Azeez has already signed a scholarship with Arsenal, which will be activated on July 1 and will go professional after his seventeenth birthday in September.
Nigeria international Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Nwakali, Xavier Amaechi, Folarin Balogun, Tolaji Bola, Arthur Okonkwo, James Olayinka, Tobi Omole, Joseph Olowu, Bukayo Saka and Ryan Alebiosu have been retained for the upcoming season, according to allnigeriasoccer.com

Nigerian player, Taiwo retires from football at 29



Nigerian-born former Chelsea midfielder Tom Taiwo, has retired from professional football at the age of 29.
Taiwo joined Chelsea from Leeds United in 2006.

He also played Port Vale, Carlisle United, Falkirk and Hamilton Academical.
Taiwo played alongside Victor Moses in England side that reached the quarterfinals of the 2007 FIFA U17 World Cup.
Announcing his retirement, Taiwo wrote on Instagram, ”Unfortunately, I have taken the tough decision to announce my retirement from football.

“Three injury-hit seasons in succession have left me struggling to perform, but more importantly, feel the way I want to.
“On and off the pitch, I have been fortunate to deal with great people at great clubs and without your help couldn’t have fulfilled the career I have. Thank-you, I will always be grateful.
“Most importantly to the people that matter the most – my family. You’ve given me more support than I could ever ask for and for that and much more I love you all.

Nigeria vs Korea Republic: Chelsea, West Ham react to Asisat Oshoala’s ‘brilliant’ goal
 


Chelsea and West Ham United have reacted to the goal scored by Asisat Oshoala in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Korea Republic in their second game of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The club’s monitored proceedings at the Stade des Alpes, Grenoble as the Super Falcons got their Women’s World Cup campaign back on track on Wednesday.

Korea Republic’s West Ham midfielder, Cho So-hyun and Chelsea Women number 10 Ji So-yun started and went the distance for the Asian side.
Kim Do-yeon scored an unfortunate own goal in the 29th minute to give the African champions the lead before Barcelona star Asisat Oshoala, doubled lead in the 75th minute.
Chelsea wrote on its official website, ”An unfortunate own-goal and magnificent solo effort by Barcelona’s Asisat Oshoala left South Korea’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage in the balance.

”They could not help a singular piece of individual skill, however, from Barcelona forward Oshoala, who streaked away from her marker to latch onto a through ball by 18-year-old Chidinma Okeke and rounded the goalkeeper with class and composure to secure the Super Falcons’ first World Cup victory since 2011.’

West Ham also wrote on its website: ”Korea looked to battle back but Nigeria doubled their lead on 75 minutes after a brilliantly worked counter-attack was finished by Asisat Oshoala.”

FIFA Women World Cup: France beats Norway, tops Nigeria’s group 


Eugenie Le Sommer converted the game-winning penalty kick in the 72nd minute for the tournament hosts to overcome an appalling own goal and beat Norway 2-1 on Wednesday in Nice, France.
The victory enabled France to stay atop Group A table at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup with two wins from two games.

Le Sommer’s penalty kick was awarded upon video review.
It determined that Norwegian midfielder Ingrid Engen followed through on a clearance attempt and spiked the knee of French wingback Marion Torrent inside the 18-yard box.
This was deemed a foul and a yellow card, and Le Sommer smashed the ensuing kick into the bottom left corner.

That regained the lead for Les Bleues, who had given up a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute when defender Wendie Renard found her own net.
Chasing down a flat cross on the doorstep of the back post, Renard tried to flick the ball out for a corner kick but got square contact and put it straight into her net.
France took its first lead just 42 seconds into the second half, when striker Valerie Gauvin slammed home a cross from wingback Amel Majri at the center of the 6-yard box.

Nigeria and Norway, with each having three points from a win and a loss ahead of their final group matches, now face France and South Korea respectively.
France, which have already clinched a spot in the knockout round, had beaten South Korea 4-0 in the opener, while Norway beat Nigeria 3-0.
Meanwhile, Sara Daebritz scored in the 42nd minute for Germany to defeat Spain in Valenciennes and remain undefeated after two games in Group B.

Transfer: Chelsea set asking price for another Super Eagles defender 


Chelsea are prepared to part company with Nigeria international Kenneth Omeruo in the summer transfer window.
Marca reports that the Europa League Champions were ready to sell the Nigerian; provided an interested club meets their asking price.

The Blues have already turned down a bid of four million euros from CD Leganes for the Super Eagles star.
The newspaper reports that the Blues will sell the defender for six million euros.
Omeruo joined the Stamford Bridge outfit from Sunshine Stars in 2012.

The 25-year-old want to remain at CD Leganes after an outstanding season with the Spanish side.
He is also wanted by other Spanish and German clubs.
Since joining Chelsea, Omeruo had played on loan at ADO Den Haag, Middlesbrough, Kasimpasa and Alanyaspor.

Transfer: Griezmann’s move to Barcelona confirmed
 


Antoine Griezmann will sign for Barcelona this summer, Atletico Madrid’s CEO, Gil Martin, has confirmed.
According to him, the club knew Griezmann would be joining their LaLiga rivals since March.

“We know since last March that Griezmann is going to Barcelona,” he told to Sport.
DAILY POST reported last month, that Griezmann informed Atletico that he will deposit his €120m release clause in July.
The player’s release clause is currently €200million, after he signed a new contract with Atletico just last summer.

However, that figure drops to €120m euros from July 1.
Griezmann is expected to sign a five-year deal at the Nou Camp.

 Chelsea are ready to trade off defender Kenneth Omeruo in the summer, if clubs interested in signing the Super Eagles star can match up their asking price.


Kenneth Omeruo Omueruo signed for Chelsea in 2012, but has yet to kick a ball for the London club. He was key to Leganes campaign this season in the Spanish La Liga and has expressed his desire to remain there and enjoy club football.

We want Mbappe! - Real Madrid Fans At Hazard's Presentation













The Estadio Santiago Bernabeu crowd made their feelings known as to who they want next through the door at Real Madrid as they waited for Eden Hazard's presentation.
Paris Saint-Germain's Kylian Mbappe has been linked with a move to Los Blancos and he was the subject of chants from 50,000 fans inside the Bernabeu.

"We want Mbappe! We want Mbappe!" chanted the crowd as the atmosphere built.
Eden Hazard was given a Real Madrid jersey to pose with during his presentation at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, but there was no number on it.
The Belgian signed his contract alongside Florentino Perez and posed with his family for photos in front of Los Blancos' 13 Champions League trophies.

Only the number 16 is currently available in the Real Madrid squad, but there are expected to be exits this summer, with some players leaving their numbers open for Hazard to take.

The lack of number at this moment will have a negative impact on shirt sales

It’s sad to see ex-players criticise the team – Mikel Obi

With the Super Eagles preparing for the 2019 African Cup of Nations set to kick off in a few weeks, captain of the team, John Mikel Obi has expressed his disappointment at ex-players that criticise the team.

“When you see ex-players do that to players who love this country, who can do anything for this country, it is sad to see really. Because they are supposed to be the ones to encourage the younger players and talk to you and encourage players who are still playing,” Mikel told the Super Eagles media team.

“Maybe they have their own problems and they want to take it out on people who are still playing but I don’t know. I always concentrate on this team and I want to give everything for this team.”

The midfielder, who was recently released by Middlesborough, returned to the Super Eagles after a one-year hiatus that began after Super Eagles lost to Argentina in the 2018 World Cup. He said during the time he was away from the team, he followed the team, always kept in touch with them and the coach.

“I had a good conversation with the coach. I just thought it was a time for me to take a kind of a break get some rest and then if we get to the nations cup, I’ll always come back to the team to see if we can be able to win another Nation’s cup,” Mikel said.

Playing despite his father’s kidnap

Alongside managing the number of games and long travels during his time at Tianjin Teda in the Chinese Super League, the emotional strain of playing that night at the St Petersburg stadium while his father was kidnapped could have further indicated a break off international football was needed.

Mikel refers to it as a terrible time. He was informed of his father’s kidnap hours before the match as he travelled with the team to the stadium. He spoke with the kidnappers on the phone and was told he had to pay a ransom. Nigeria had a crucial match that decided their qualification to the next round. Mikel chose not to burden any other person with the news. Not his teammates, not the coaches, not the Nigeria Football Federation. He chose to play the match.

“It’s something you take as a leader of the team, you have to sometimes take those things. But it was a terrible time for me, a few hours before stepping onto the pitch,” Mikel revealed. “A game which could decide our fate in a massive tournament. I couldn’t share it with anyone. I had a job to do. I was devastated because obviously, we are talking about my dad, my family but I knew I couldn’t let anyone down in the team, in the country. I knew deeply inside me I was suffering, I was in pain I had to go out and do a job. I had to go out and serve my country.”

“Sometimes when you’re dedicated and you love your country so much you have to do these things and that was exactly what I did. I stepped on the pitch and even after the game I didn’t really share with anybody. Luckily, everything went well. My dad was released before even people knew about it.”

Commitment and respect

Mikel believes despite the commitment he has shown playing for Nigeria, some people including ex-players still don’t show him the respect he deserves.

“I know sometimes the ex-players say what they say on the papers. People have their own opinion of me. Maybe when they played, they weren’t as successful as I am. It wasn’t my doing it was all from God. I’ve never ever criticised anybody in my life.”
The former Chelsea player recounted when he put Nigeria ahead of his club career to play at the Rio 2016 Olympics. He led the Olympic team to third place but when he returned to Chelsea, the manager had moved on from him.

“When that opportunity came out either to go to Rio or to play for Chelsea. I told Victor Moses because it was both of us. I was older, he was younger. He had not played yet for the club, Chelsea. I said ‘you stay back, I’ll go, if I lose my place, it’s fine.’ Victor did. Victor stayed. I went, I came back. The manager never spoke to me again, didn’t put me in the team. And I said ‘okay fine, if that’s what you want to do, I’ll leave.’ It’s just the commitment and love that I have for my country, it will never change until I stop playing.”
