Transfer: Arsenal to sell Aubameyang to fund £80m move for Zaha

Arsenal remain keen on Crystal Palace winger, Wilfried Zaha, but would likely need to sell Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to raise his £80million price tag.
The Gunners’ hopes of landing the Ivory Coast international have taken a blow after Manchester United agreed a deal worth £50m for Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

According to BBC Sport’s David Ornstein, Palace don’t want to lose their two best players in one window and have slammed an enormous price tag on Zaha to ward off suitors.
The £80m valuation would make Zaha the joint-ninth most expensive player ever, tying the fee Real Madrid paid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from United back in 2009.
However, Arsenal’s failure to qualify for the Champions League means they have a transfer budget of just £45m and will need to raise money to fund such a move.

The easiest way to do so would be to cash in on Aubameyang, who has reportedly received a £300,000-a-week offer to play in China.
The Gabon striker just turned 30 and only has two years left to run on his current contract.

Transfer: Neymar gives PSG deadline to approve Barcelona move

Neymar Jr has issued Paris Saint-Germain an ultimatum in an attempt to force through a move to Barcelona, Mundo reports.
The Brazilian forward has been desirous of moving back to the Nou Camp two years after he left in a stunning £198million transfer.

He has told PSG to honour his wish by setting them a deadline of July 8 to get a deal done, or he will walk out.
It is understood that Neymar is so desperate that he is willing to take a 50 per cent pay cut in order to facilitate the transfer.
When he joined PSG, Neymar was handed a yearly net salary of €36million (£32m) which represented a huge €14m (£12.5m) increase on what he earned at Barcelona.

DAILY POST reported that the 27-year-old had verbally accepted Barcelona’s offer “without hesitation” and is now waiting on the Ligue 1 champions.

Nigeria vs Guinea: Kanu blames Ighalo for 1-0 win, speaks on country that will win AFCON

Former Super Eagles captain, Kanu Nwankwo, has blamed Odion Ighalo for the narrow 1-0 win over Guinea on Wednesday.
Nigeria became the first country to qualify for the Round of 16 following victory over the Syli Stars, thanks to Kenneth Omeruo’s header in the second half.

Although Kanu was happy with the country’s qualification, he feels the margin should have been bigger if Ighalo was not selfish.
“We are more relaxed now after the win over Guinea to advance to the next round.
“We had few chances to score more goals in the first half when Odion Ighalo had a good chance to pass the ball to Musa but he did not do so.

“Guinea are no pushovers, but we took our chances,” the two-time Africa Player of The Year told CAFOnline.
Kanu also refused to predict who will lift the AFCON title, adding that it’s still early days in the tournament.
“I don’t want to predict who will win the tournament now after two games but after the group games then we can see the real teams in contention,” he added.

Transfer: Lampard agrees for Chelsea to sign Real Madrid midfielder in €50m deal

Chelsea have made the transfer of Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid permanent for a fee around €50million, Marca reports.

It is believed that the transfer has also been given the thumbs up from incoming Chelsea manager Frank Lampard.

The Croatian midfielder spent last season on loan at Stamford Bridge, so he is eligible for a transfer despite their two-window ban.

Kovacic was very impressive in his debut season in England, as he made appearances and helped Chelsea achieve Europa League glory.
The two sides must, however, wrap up the deal by Sunday, 30 June, before Kovacic initial loan comes to an end.

Mohamed Salah Scores His First Goal At AFCON As Egypt Beat Congo 2-0 (Video)

In a video posted via official MandyNews.com YouTube channel, Mohamed Salah scored his first goal of this year’s Africa Cup of Nations to help hosts Egypt to a 2-0 win over Democratic Republic of Congo which guaranteed them a place in the knockout stages.

Aston Villa full-back Ahmed Elmohamady broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, turning the ball in following a corner before Salah netted two minutes before half-time. The Liverpool forward finished clinically from Trezeguet’s pass to send the packed Cairo International Stadium wild with delight.

Transfer: Liverpool sign new player

Liverpool have completed the signing of 17-year-old defender, Sepp van den Berg, from PEC Zwolle.
The UEFA Champions League holders made the announcement in a statement posted on the club’s official website on Thursday.

Van Den Berg joined the Anfield club for an initial fee of £1.3million.
The statement read: “I’ve seen what kind of players from the Academy grew into the first team here. It is unbelievable, especially when this kind of big club does that.
“It’s just an amazing feeling,” Van den Berg told Liverpool’s official website. “It is, for me, the biggest club in the world and it’s a dream come true. I am really excited.

Transfer: Man United identify Lukaku’s replacement as Cavani finally decides on his PSG future

Manchester United have identified Wissam Ben Yedder as a possible replacement for Romelu Lukaku who is set to leave the club this summer, according to ABC de Sevilla.

The Red Devils could trigger Yedder’s €40 million (£36m/$45m) release clause should Lukaku leave for Inter Milan or Juventus.

Yedder scored 18 goals in 35 games for Sevilla last season and netted another 10 in 13 Europa League fixtures.

Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani has confirmed that he wishes to stay at PSG until the end of his current contract in 2020.
The striker, who is currently on international duty with Uruguay in the Copa America, wants to spend at least a season with the French Champions.

Cavani, who is PSG’s all-time top scorer, told a press conference following Uruguay’s 1-0 win over Chile: “I’m proud to be at PSG, I want to finish my contract there.”

AFCON 2019: Algeria Beats Senegal To Qualify For Round Of Sixteen


Youcef Belaili scored the solitary goal against Senegal that has sealed Algeria’s place in the Round of sixteen of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations

The Desert Foxes become the third African team to make it to the knockout rounds. They join Nigeria and Egypt, after securing their first back-to-back AFCON victory since 1990.

Mane was unfortunate not to win a penalty when he was sandwiched by Adlene Guedioura and Ramy Bensebaini with 20 minutes to go. This raised questions about the use of the video assistant referee (VAR) that will not be in use until the quarter-final stage.

The game did not live up to the hype, with Senegal not having a shot on target until the 78th minute when Youssouf Sabaly’s 20-yard shot was parried by Rais M’Bolhi and Mbaye Diagne put the rebound wide from close range.

Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye blazed a shot over for Senegal just after the hour-mark and Mahrez, in a rare moment of magic, lashed an effort just wide from long range.

AFCON 2019: Madagascar in second place ahead of Super Eagles clash

Madagascar is now second in Group B, following a 1-0 win over Burundi on Thursday evening.
Nicolas Dupuis’ had drawn 2-2 in their opening fixture against Guinea last weekend.

However, it was tougher for them against fellow debutants, Burundi, as they struggled to find the back of the net.
Marco Ilaimaharitra eventually netted the winner in the 76th minute.
Madagascar will now take on Nigeria’s Super Eagles, in a battle for top place on Sunday.

AFCON2019: 'I'm sad to see some African brothers making fun of my physical appearance'- Senegalese footballer, Diatta Krepin slams social media bullies






Senegalese footballer, Krepin Diatta who is currently representing his country at the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt, has spoken about the insults he has been receiving online because of his physical appearance.
 
The 20-year-old midfielder who plays for Club Brugge KV, became a notable figure after scoring a screamer, his first goal for Senegal against Tanzania during their opening match last Sunday.

While many web users were praising Diatta for his goal, some decided to mock his physical appearance.
 
One troll even went as far as sharing a photo of Krepin with his beautiful white girlfriend and called them “beauty with a beast”

Reacting to the insults he has been receiving on social media, the 20-year-old wrote in a statement. 

I am very sad to see my african brothers making fun of me,
I work for our beautiful and dear africa continent and what I receive in return are only insults, mockery from my brothers
This is too bad of you and racism comes from there, I need your encouragement, not insults, Thank you to everyone who supports me.
It is only God who gives me strength and I am proud of my physical appearance your mockery won’t change anything in my life.
But one thing for sure, we are all AFRICANS.

Manchester United are set to continue their summer investment in youth by trying to sign Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to reshape a squad that tailed off badly after an excellent start under the Norwegian last season.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka is expected to complete his £50m move from Crystal Palace after Thursday's medical.


United signed 21-year-old Daniel James from Swansea earlier this month.
It is understood Solskjaer is also keen on Longstaff, another 21-year-old, who impressed at St James' Park after making his debut in December 2018, only to have his season curtailed by a knee injury.
In pursuing a policy of trying to sign younger players who can develop at Old Trafford, Solskjaer believes he is following a policy that proved successful under Sir Alex Ferguson, with the former striker himself an example after he arrived as a relatively unknown 23-year-old from Molde in 1996.
United are trying to sign an experienced central defender, although their chances of signing England's Harry Maguire are reduced significantly by Leicester's demands, which are understood to be more than the £70m fee that put the Red Devils off a similar deal 12 months ago.

Of their more established stars, striker Romelu Lukaku remains the most likely to leave.
Inter Milan are keen on the £75m former Everton forward but it is not clear whether the club now managed by Antonio Conte, who wanted to sign Lukaku when he was at Chelsea, can put together a deal that would be financially acceptable to the United hierarchy.

Patrick Vieira is among the names Newcastle United are considering to succeed Rafael Benitez as manager.
Benitez, 59, will leave St James' Park after three years in charge when his contract expires on 30 June.

Vieira, 43, has just completed his first campaign in European club management with Nice.


He is happy with the French side and in no rush to move, but will listen to Premier League side Newcastle if they make contact.

Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign 17-year-old centre-back Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle for an initial £1.3m.
The Netherlands Under-19 international, who was also a target for Ajax, Bayern Munich and PSV Eindhoven, will officially join the Reds on 1 July.

The fee for Van den Berg - the Reds' first signing of the summer - could rise to £4.4m depending on add-ons.

Meanwhile, youth team player Rafael Camacho has joined Sporting for £5m.
The 19-year-old Portuguese, who made his first-team debut last season with substitute appearances in the FA Cup at Wolves and at home to Crystal Palace in the Premier League, had turned down the offer of a new contract.
Van den Berg made 15 appearances for PEC Zwolle in the Dutch top flight last season.

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, is planning to add just one more summer signing, after a busy summer of incomings at the Bernabeu.
Mundo Deportivo reports that Los Blancos are targeting a central midfielder and have made Paul Pogba their number one target.

Pogba looks set to leave Old Trafford, just three years after his £89million move from Juventus.
Real Madrid are also keen on the 26-year-old, who Manchester United insist is not for sale.

Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said ‘said yes’ to Manchester United, according to Tuttosports.
Aubameyang has been linked with a shock move from Arsenal to United in the past few days.

Reports had emerged from Italy and England that United identified Aubameyang as a perfect replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian leave this summer.

Inter Milan and Juventus have keen interest in Lukaku, and, according to the newspaper, Aubameyang has ‘said yes’ to the idea of replacing the former Everton man at United.
Aubameyang won the Premier League golden boot last season with 22 goals.

But at 30 years old, the Gabonese international would go against manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfer policy of signing young players with plenty of potential.
Arsenal would also want to recoup the £54m they paid for him 18 months ago.

2019 AFCON: Eagles want five more matches, says Rohr

 




                           
Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser has told NationSport that his personal ambition is for his team to play in the remaining five matches of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations holding in Egypt which simply translates to playing in the final of the competition.

The Super Eagles’ team has so far played two matches in Group B beating resilient teams Burundi in the first group match 1-0 via Odion Ighalo’s lone strike, while Nigeria also defeated highly rated Guinea 1-0 through defender Kenneth Omeruo’s lone goal.

Rohr stated that the team hopes to play in the final “we want to play another five games and show a good football with a great spiritual. We want to improve in all departments of the team and we are working very hard to achieve that. We also want to continue to win to make Nigerians proud”, he disclosed to NationSport.

The Franco German tactician also vowed to win the last match Group B match against Madagascar to top the group.


“Our plan is to prepare seriously for the last group match to win it and eventually top the group”.

On a final note, Rohr revealed to NationSport that the team’s central defender Troost William Ekong is fit again and has started full training with the team and may likely play against Madagascar on Sunday.

“No risk with Jamilu Collins and Shehu Abdullahi but Williams Ekong is coming back in the team”, Rohr disclosed.

Venezuela coach, Rafael Dudamel, has named Argentina captain, Lionel Messi, as his best player in history.

Dudamel stated this ahead of Venezuela’s 2019 Copa America quarter-final tie against Argentina on Friday night.


Venezuela head to the game after defeating Bolivia 3-1 in their last match while Argentina defeated Qatar 2-0.

“For me, he is the best in history, winning or not winning titles with Argentina, that will not take him out of first place on the podium,” Dudamel was quoted by Sportskeeda as saying at his pre-match press conference.

“Everyone admires him. It is so much excessive admiration that some are paralysed, both teammates and coaches.”


The kick-off time for the match is 8pm.

AFCON 2019: Adama Niane Sent Home For Slapping Team Captain

Mali have expelled striker, Adama Niane, from their squad for indiscipline.

He is the third player to be thrown out by his team, at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

“Adama Niane was excluded from the Eagles group for non-respect,” the team’s media officer, Ibrahim Coulibaly, told reporters.

Reports said the 26-year-old Belgium-based player had slapped his captain in an altercation over queuing.

The decision came on the eve of Friday’s Group E match against Tunisia in Suez.

OFFICIAL: Manchester United Sign Aaron Wan-bissaka From Crystal Palace For £50m



Manchester United have officially announced the signing of defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace in a £50million deal, MySportDab reports.

The 21-year-old has agreed a five-year contract that will earn him up to £80,000 a week.

Wan-Bissaka is the the club's fifth-biggest signing, behind Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Angel di Maria and Fred.

Wan-Bissaka: “It’s an unbelievable feeling and an honour to call myself a #mufc player and something I know that only a small number of players have the privilege to say.”

He is the club's second summer recruit, after Daniel James joined from Swansea.

Wan-Bissaka, who has been on international duty this month at the European Under-21 Championship, joined Palace's academy when he was 11.

The defender was on £10,000 a week at Selhurst Park, the lowest-paid player in Palace's first-team squad.

Transfer: Nigerian attacking midfielder finally signs new contract with Chelsea

Nigerian midfielder, Tariq Uwakwe, has finally signed his contract with Chelsea.
By this, the youngster ended all speculations surrounding his future at the club.

The 19-year-old would have been a free agent on July 1 but has decided to extend his stay with the Blues.
Uwakwe confirmed on Saturday that he has accepted the offer of a new contract and penned the deal, according to Allnigeriasoccer.
It is believed that an official announcement will be made by The Blues next month.

Previous reports suggested that the central midfielder was offered to Lyon as he had wanted to explore other options but any proposed move is dead in the water for the time being.
Born in London, Uwakwe joined Chelsea Academy at U9 level and rose through the ranks before becoming an important member of the U23 team.
He represented Chelsea youth teams in the UEFA Youth League, Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy last season.
