The shotguns did not find the perfect balance in PvP, we have already talked about it for a long time. Destiny 2 gives a sponge to the problem by substantially modifying the whole weapons system; not only their positioning but also their functionality. Now the guns are divided by type of ammunition, with the secondary ones that basically serve to break down the shields of the enemies and the heavy ones that include snipers and shotguns. After having made several games in the Crucible the change is felt a lot and the shotguns have almost completely disappeared from the scene, at least in these first few days of play.
The guardians prefer grenade launchers or, even better, the sniper rifle, with which to go especially low in limited screw modes. The different balance between PvP and PvE that so many were hoping for, unfortunately has not yet arrived and the risk of being in a situation where the nerf on one of the two modes of play heavily affect the other are very likely and lurking. From this point of view, Bungie will have to be very careful. For now we can say that the system is not worse or better at all, just very different. We will see in a few weeks how the situation will be regulated.
The first chapter made you farm hours on hours in the hope of finding an improvement for your arsenal, a problem then improved with the patches and now arrived in its final form. Basically every Destiny 2 drop, at least in your growing phase, will replace a piece you wear, increasing your overall power level. So you can have fun seeing the numbers go up with a system that feeds the crazy farm but who also knows how to adequately reward the player for his own efforts. Only the exotic engrams will instead be returned to the Shelter to be revealed.
This means that while you are fighting in an instance your character will grow with each new loot, actually speeding up the acquisition of new Destiny 2 Boost. The loot is no longer only to be searched through missions or random rewards, but all the activities corollary of the main campaign have been designed with this goal in mind. Lost Sector, High Value Target and Adventures will come to your aid and the reputation with the various planets will allow you to quickly get excellent weapons and armor. When you reach the maximum level, then, you can begin to cultivate the reputations that are also structured to give you objects with increasing power.
